why does /o/ hate Alfa Romeo so much?
it's not memes nor banter, I've noticed you unironically hate this brand with all your heart like if it was the last piece of subhuman trash
Fuck no, I love the 4C but just the 4C.
>>15832164
i had an 147
the electronics were fucked and everything was rusting on the inside but
i could trust the engine like i could trust my grandma to fill my stomach even though i wasn't hungry
I don't think /o/ hates Alfa that much, you're thinking of Fiat
Why do drag race cars have big fat tires at the back and thinner ones at the front? I've also noticed in heavy duty American trucks.
Why is this?
>>15831578
traction
>>15831589
I don't get it. For traction you could just use same size tires on all 4 sides right?
>>15831599
Wider tires means a wider contact patch—if you want to drag race then doing a burnout is the last thing you want to do, thus, a wider tire is used to keep traction in the rear. The front tires don't need nearly as much traction so they're kept small to reduce weight.
What car has the best stock shifter?
brz and wrx feel pretty nice
my focus when stock had a ton of slop.
S2000
Focus shifter is pretty good, it's very easy to work and feels tight.

ITT: characteristics of a car that immediately make you 180
>FWD
>4dr
>4 seats
>engine is mounted at the front
>engine is transverse
>automatic
>new and ripe for depreciation
>weighs more than 2000lbs
>has a ton of systems that detach you from the road like abs, traction control, """advanced""" powersteering
>higher than 30 inches off the ground
if your hooptie falls under any of these areas and there's literally no course of counterargument you can take other than being a comprising buffoon.
>>15827616
>I'm going to make this thread because I drive a miata
>I'm also retarded
The post.
>go to buy a new car
>only a V8 is avaliable
>>15827621
>miatas are MR
the only retard is you
So whats the best way to creep in traffic? Not just stopped traffic, stop for 5 secs then crawl again for 2 secs traffic.
>inb4 1 car length
yeah because its fun when some jack ass changes lanes to your front
>>15817973
>So whats the best way to creep in traffic?
Owning a motorcycle would probably be the best way
>>15817973
Clutch out, and little bursts of gas to stop it stalling in first.
Don't join the stop/go meme, just crawl along at a steady speed. Or if it's going too slowly, sit there until there's a decent gap, THEN crawl.
Or find a different fucking route.
Make a tuning map for a fast idle speed like 1000RPM, switch to it when in heavy traffic, don't touch throttle
>that feel when the car you just bought needs a tuneup so you're revving it at stoplights all the way home so it doesn't die but everyone just thinks you want to race them
>tfw you had to cut your fuel line to drop your tank because the threads are seized as all fucking shit.
>Tfw a flaring kit costs 150$
>Tfw stuck on a friday night tinkering with your pump like a human bean while everyone is out hooning.
>>15834272
I think you mean...
>that feel when you dont know how to do a tune up so you drive around reving your car like an ass hole
Thinking about getting one of these for $10k. Is it worth it?
Fuck no anon. Trust me I drive these for work. Unless if you're getting the 200c with the V6 AWD you good but if not then just kill yourself pathetic pleb fag. Why not just get the Chrysler 300C? So you won't look like a faggot driving a 17 teenage girl car pussy cuck
>>15833791
Absolutely not.
>>15833791
No. It's a shitty car not worth any amount of money.
which car would you own?
The one that doesn't look like a melted Hotwheels, wait
>>15833547
i'm sorry that it doesn't look like your stanced out vapestation
>>15833520
1993 Honda Civic
:)))))))
Celica or Prelude?
The one with RWD
>fwd
Integra
/o/pinions on the Toyota Celica? i'm thinking of getting one and they seem to be pretty good cars, even if they're >fwd
>>15833020
Get an RSX typeS instead
>>15833020
They're all poorfag trailer-trash tier now.
Its a toyota why the fuck would you want it? Buy a fuckin Camaro or some shit....
I think I want one. What do the rest of you think?
pluses:
>200+ mile range
>25 miles of range per hour of charging at 240V
>interior better than most GM compacts
>electric car with a transmission
>most of the electronic nannys (OnStar, blind zone alert, automatic pedestrian braking, etc.) are optional
minuses:
>10" screen for the radio and 8" screen for the speedo instead of normal dials and buttons
>website is broken already, car soon to follow suit
>it's not a Tesla
That looks like that a talking cartoon car
Don't cuck yourself into a shitbox br/o/. If you absolutely have to have a shitty electric car then wait till the tesla model 3 comes out and buy that.
I'm wary of getting any electric vehicle with all the problems my mother is having with her P85.
Over the past nearly 2 years the range has tanked, and I know how she drives. Alot of the interior has buckled under the sun and she had to get it serviced so many times.
>Ball head allen wrenches vs straight heads, the great debate
So today after working as a master tech at a airplane hangar for about 8 years, I was told by a new tech that I am trainning, that I am not a proper mechanic.
I switched to ball head allen wrenches a few years ago because of how fast and efficient they are. Today this new tech, who I was trainning, noticed my choice of hex keys, and said he couldn't believe I used them. According to him they are terrible and strip everything. After this, he then also preceded to tell me my 12 point sockets were also inferior.
Why do these old stubborn hill-billys perpetuate tool myths? Do they feel better about their shit tier inferior tools when they do it?
>Anyway, tldr; hexadecimal keys: ball or straight, what do you use.
Ball head for screwing it in, straight for tightening
>>15832714
>8years
>master tech
WELP I GUESS BY THAT LOGIC IM A ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEM AND ELECTRICAL MASTER
>>15832714
You're a shitmaster, if anything.
Cringy things you did to your first car
>Vinyl white carbon Racing stripes
>Plastidipped matte black rims
>Muffler delete with autozone pipes and clamps
>meme stickers
>used zip ties to tighten the throttle cable
>always used 93 octane in a shitbox that wasn't even tuned for it
>>15832697
I still have mine. Had it since 05 I would call it somewhat tasteful. I really hate the exhaust though.
> Sound system
Never loud anymore.
> Tein lowering springs.
> KYB struts
> Strut bars front and rear
> Catback
> ebay 4-2-1 headers
> Magnaflow high flow cat
> Cool air intake
> Plastidip everything
Out of necessity because I had to cut out and replace a lot of rust.
1992 Nissan Maxima i had about a decade ago, my parents bought me it in high school
>bought $1000 brand new Sparco seats and put them in
>installed a half roll cage in the back
>later put Rays Volk Daytona wheels on it
>put Euroclear headlights on it
>full custom mandrel bent exhaust
>random stickers like Toyo tires everywhere
>slammed it and it scraped everywhere
>gutted the rear interior
thing had 380,000km when they gave it to me and died at 429,000km 2 years after i graduated, i sunk maybe $10k in repairs inbetween because i loved it
most of it wasnt that bad, the Sparco seats kinda were since Sparco discontinued seat rails for my model and i had to get a tuning shop to weld me custom rails. must have been laughing when i brought the car in for Sparco seats lol
>>15832796
>slammed a 90's maxima
love it

>There is no magic breakthrough technology on this car (except the RDU - see documents below - but it doesn't work well on track). Sure, the RS has adjustable shocks (cockpit adjustable twin tubes, circa 1990), a launch control "rev limiter" mode (which has been on many cars for years, and with as complex of a procedure this car has to set it, this has very limited usefulness), and there is active disengagement of the rear drive axle - which is not usually a good thing. Bill Caswell mentioned this "Torque Vectoring Rear Drive Module (RDM), which combines a differential and two hydraulically activated clutches to control the power distribution to the rear wheels" in this R&T article. He did some track driving in an RS which put the rear diff (admittedly very small) into thermal overload, which disengages the rear drive completely. Many others are seeing this same issue, including me at our test and the owner Todd when he drove it at Optima events.
