What the ever loving fuck is this monstrosity. It's so odd looking it has to have been modeled from a real car. Can anyone identify it? I'm going to guess something french.
Citroen DS u noob

Looks a little high in the back but it's very similar to Citroen DS series
Why can't Koreans make a sports car that is fast, and more importantly, FEELS good?
>>15834450
That's only your opinion
>>15834461
Which is shared with many people. Never seen Hyundai praised for their steering/shifters/chassis dynamics/exhaust note/personality in comparison to their competition. All the little intangible stuff that makes a sports car is what they don't seem to get.
For me, it's the shitty suspension tuning.
Every single Korean car I've had as a rental so far ('15 Sonata, '14 Soul, '16 Forte) has some sort of weird suspension tune.
Sonata= super soft, almost feels like it's bottoming out. This is the best of the bunch
Soul and Forte: suspension that manages to be poorly controlled on bigger bumps (weird sidewise wiggle like a BOF SUV on leaf springs and uncomfortably stiff on minor irregularities.
The Forte I just had today, it's a decent little runabout and returned amazing MPG considering the rush i was in (40-41mpg indicated average doing mostly 80mph with A/C going, winding it out to 3-4k RPM at every light and onramp). But the overall impression was that I could never quite get comfortable in the seat, the suspension tuning is crap, and the throttle is very heavy to discourage heavy application (thus helping MPG) and the transmission is incredibly reluctant to downshift. The worst was around town, at about 30mph it'd upshift to some incredibly tall ratio to the point that you'd almost stop accelerating. I'd then press the pedal down slightly and nothing would happen. Finally I'd depress the heavy pedal way down and the engine would drop what felt like 2 gears and I'd go rocketing forward.
Not impressed. They hit all the right numbers on paper, but the vehicles just feel disjointed and not operating as a refined 'whole.' Before that I had a pretty cheapo Jetta 1.4T, MUCH better drivetrain/transmission with a lot better low end power, a suspension that smothered bad roads and helped the car track incredibly well at higher speeds (80-85mph was very relaxed).

Why the fuck are people so stupid they lease?
>Be me
>Ask co-worker out
>Go to pick her up at her house and see a nice bmw on her driveway
>Knock on the door
>She opens up and invites me in
>We small talk and I ask about the car
>She tells me she lease it
>nope.jpg
>Immediately tell her I forgot to shut my garage door
>Leave and never go back
Now I have to face her tomorrow. Why does she have to be so stupid?
>>15827646
What's wrong with leasing? You get a lower payment and incentives over financing and have the option to buy the car at the end of the period or give it back if you don't like it.
Retard
>smaller payments than buying the same car
>less hassle than buying pre owned
>warranty and peace of mind, no such thing with pre owned
>brand new car every two or three years
Unless you drive one car for ten years at a time, it's a great idea.

Leasing is only good if you can't write it off on your taxes.
Tell me /o/ why are there so few 370Z around nowadays?
because the Mustang is better
>>15836849
Basically.
It competes with the Camaro and Mustang, which have gotten massive upgrades recently while the 370Z hasn't got an update. A 370Z generally isn't any faster/more reliable/practical than an equally priced pony car. Even complaints of heavy weight and poor visibility are present in the 370 too.
I'm at that exciting and disappointing step of actually purchasing my first car.
-8k cash
-Can make small payments for a while
-Daily driver (hopefully for 4-5 years)
-I live in a place that gets snow and of course, salt
Magical goal: Is there anything cool/fun I could get that would also be reliable enough to be a daily driver for my pretty small cash pile?
What milage should I be looking for that would fit the above requirements?
Any general tips? Anything to stay away from?
get a saab 9-3, as new as possible, as low mileage as possible. mines from 2003 and has 130k miles on the clock and runs amazing, got heated leather seats for those cold winters, its got a 2 liter 4banger with 175 horsies thats a bit of fun and its great in the snow, the swedes built it to be good in snow. had it 5 years now, no issues except door locks and front struts
>>15837252
8k cash, small payments? What does this even mean? Do you have 8k or are you trying to finance?
Shut up and buy a civic for 3k.
>>15837252
I did this with a WRX hatch in NJ; just paid it off. Built my credit for a year really quick, paid the loan off two years early because I did something manageable with money upfront, and it went great. Love the car.
Sequential manual gearbox in an affordable street car when?
why? DCT/PDK exists.

Slamming on a lever is more fun than clicking a paddle. Plus you still get to dow nshift like a boyracer.

Pony car (Mustang or Camaro)
>95 to 99% the peak performance
>half to two-thirds the price
>better sound and shifter
>poor visibility
BMW
>tiny to negligable increase in performance
>much more expensive
>sounds like shit and feels numb
>superior visibility
>prestige
Choose
Well this OP isn't biased at all
>>15833558
>heavy as shit pony car that is literally an up marked shit box vs a German made luxury car
Lol BMW all the way
I like the looks of the M4 but performance is pathetic for the price. Also will probably never own a BMW because you can't do your own maintenance.
Cars are a source of economic inequality.
We built cities so that the convenient, accessible transport requires a several thousand dollar machine, plus about 6K a year for maintenance, fuel and registration. What are people who can't afford it supposed to do?
At the supermarket my brother used to work at, employees would follow each other through the boom gates so they wouldn't fucking STARVE paying parking fees.
Our current transport paradigm disadvantages the lower class and sustains poverty. Meanwhile governments continue to widen highways instead of investing in equitable transport, because the right wing loves those political "donations" from the automotive and petroleum industry.
I agree with you, but what do you propose as a realistic long term solution besides pic related? You're literally compaining that human nature is human nature.

Get a totally stock car and follow regular maintenance with quality parts according to the very smart engineers which designed it.
