I work at the biggest Volvo cuckshed factory in the world. Ask me stuff.
Also, OEM factory workers thread.
What's the best engine they put in the new ones? How do you feel about the cucked diesel emissions?
>>16063763
Depends on what your needs are. We offer 11 liter, 13 liter, and 16 liter Volvo engines and a 15 liter Cummins engine; all of them are inline 6. The best Volvo engine is probably the 13L for the best mix of power and fuel efficiency. The Cummins is great option if you want an engine that is all around solid, reliable, and serviceable at pretty much any diesel repair shop.
I personally don't care for all the new restrictions and shit regarding diesel emissions; it makes the product more complicated which opens up more areas of maintenance and failures. But Volvo likes pushing the image of environmental friendliness so I'm sure they love it as a company. Hell, they tell us at the plant that the exhaust our trucks produce is cleaner than the air they're sucking in.
What are Volvo's and semi truck manufacture opinion in general on self driving trucks? They are creating driver assisted technology but do they have a road map on when driverless trucks will be available? I want one.
The most aesthetic car ever made?

The front of that render looks a bit Noble M600 to me.
That, or Evora GTE.
Wow that front end looks amazing. Looks gorgeous. What a beautiful design that pays true homage to the classic Supra. A thousand times more visually pleasing than any Camaro, BMW or Mustang
Ok I'm a little confused about intakes. I understand the principles behind a cold air intake, and how colder air is denser. However, for a turbocharged vehicle, the air is going to be compressed which will make it hot again. For this reason is a CAI a waste of money for a turbo engine? Wouldn't upgrading the intercooler give better results?
why not both... it's like $10 to make a cai
>>16063511
shhh we don't speak logic here.
cai make noise
boyracer like
boyracer goes back to his cave a happy caveman.
If it's a factory turbo car, the intake may have some retarded silencers and baffles that fuck with the flow. If it's not a factory turbo car you're gonna have to come up with an intake anyway, so you might as well pipe it somewhere other than where it's super hot if it's not too hard. If it would be a pain in the ass, then don't bother.
Pic related, not quite a turbo but same idea
I work for Carmax, AMA.

favourite colour?
Is it the way car buying should be?
What does Carmax warranty not cover?
Plan on leasing an ND Miata manual 2-3 years. I'm 19, college fag with no gf, not required to haul shit around, and I don't want my car to be a free uber for friends. I never owned a 2 seater and want some insight on what dd a 2 seater is like.
Only reason the Miata is in my interest is because after all the boring shit in my day I just want to let go and enjoy a true fun sports car to get away from it all everyday. God knows I will probably kms if I have to drive an econoshitbox everyday.
Anyway yeah, Miata or 2 seater drivers, can I daily this thing for 2-3 years. And this will be me only car atm, will probably get an econobox or pickup as a second car a year or 2 down the road.
>>16063461
If you're in college I would just finance an older NB for substantially less per month than you'd pay to lease the ND.
>>16063461
You're clearly single, and plan on staying that way for a long time.
Miata is the perfect car for you.
Del Sol owner.
2 seaters are easily DD-able. I don't haul shit, drive people anywhere, etc.
Plus when people ask for you to drive, you can say
>"nope, only have 2 seats"
Who is willing to work in a auto factory once Trump brings back all the jobs to America?

How the fuck do cars have have so much horsepower these days? My 205hp shitbox feels like a lightning bolt and I can accelerate, overtake people and cruise at 140mph on the Toll Road with ease.
All this time I thought you had to have at least 350hp to be "fast" but fuck cars have 600+ these days and 300hp is toyota camry territory.
>>16063213
because new cars are all heavy as shit, and need more horse power these days.
and its easy to make horsepower
and it sells more cars

Hello /o/. My 2000 cheby 1500 5.3 has a ticking noise. I added a quart of Lucas after an oil change and the ticking isn't as strong, but it comes and goes. This is when the engine is cold and warm.
Bump, hoping someone bites I'm going to bed

I read pre 03 silverados do this, with the vintage 5.3. I got a diagnostic and nothing came up. One guy said it's a fitter
Hey /o/
I am in the market for a pickup truck. I frequently travel in bad weather (snow, ice, logging roads) and my Ford Taurus is not cutting it. I also frequently need the truck for moving, hauling ect. My work pays for gas so mileage is not that much of a concern right now.
I am hoping to generate income from the truck if possible, short haul moving, hotshot work, towing RV's ect. I have a budget of AROUND $5000, but this is the upper end of my budget. Only requirements are 4 doors, automatic, capacity for hauling mid sized loads (moving furniture, a vehicle ect).
I have been looking at the Ford F250/F350 with the 7.3l in either DRW or SRW. I have no idea HOW much hauling I would do so SRW is probably preferred. I have no problem with Dodge, GMC or Chevy offerings. Any insight on what would be best in this price range. For some reason I have been finding MORE F250/F350's with 4 doors than any other model.
I would look at the silverado 2500 If you can find one with a gasoline motor. If you really need power, f250 with the v10 could be good. I'd steer clear of diesel if you're traversering cold climates.
Any chevy diesel after 00 are good. Or go with the 8.1 big block. Any Ram Cummins is also good. Reliability and capability for these trucks are identical so go with the one that speaks to you
Angry eyes chebby is best looking

My gfs grandpa always carried sand over the hips in his dually while in the mountains, the weight gave him traction and if he ever did get stuck, he would put some sand infront of the rear tires for better traction. Sounds like a win win.

"I drive"
You may only choose one car to drive for the next 3 years:
>A 2009 Pagani Zonda Cinque
Or
>A 1992 Geo Tracker (neƩ Suzuki Sidekick)
You may not drive any other vehicle during this time.
You will have to pay for all repairs and insurances.
You may upgrade the car, but you will have to pay for all upgrades.
You may not sell, rent, or otherwise profit from the car.
The car will come with a full security system.
Which car do you choose?
>>16062834
Is the tracker 4x4?
>>16062834
>You may not drive any other vehicle during this time.

well whats the fucking point then
>>16062844
The tracker is the 4x4 lsi model with removable hardtop. It is a 4 speed manual transmission.
Both cars are new, in showroom condition, never been driven
