So...I eventually did it.

I approve, but get ready for shitposters.
What trim/engine?
>>16066911
Manual Quadrifoglio, the 505 bhp V6.
>>16066906
Hows it ride? Aside from the shitposting on it, Im honestly curious about it. I thought it wasnt released yet.

I paid only 2k for an intact 240sx that ran fine.
What the fuck.
Does he know what he has?
is it priced to sell?
is he considering lowballs? or is he reporting them?
can i ask questions about the car?
can i solicit?
Well /o/, I've fucked up entirely. I think I fucked up my life and my parents are ready to boot me out of the house, this is all because of /o/'s favorite meme car, the AE86.
My parents gave me spending money for graduating college with a score higher than a 3.5 GPA. I truly thought hard on what to spend the cash on and I was browsing craigslist's for weeks, then my parents suggested a nice sporty car that wouldn't break down on me. Lo and behold, I thought an AE86 would be a perfect car, especially after browsing /o/ throughout my college life.
So I began the hunt and went through countless rust boxes, "I know what I've got", "No low ballers" and "I know what've got!". After growing tired of searching I found the perfect "cheap one", it looked like a steal. I went to pay the owner a visit, it was some old lady whose husband had passed away and had the car sitting for quite a while, she didn't specify how long but it didn't matter to me being the dumbass I was, I didn't even ask what engine it was, where the rust spots were or any specific important questions about it. I bought the car straight away with pure emotion, I spent $7,500 fucking dollars.
>Mfw I found out the car had the weaker 4AC engine and an actual 4AGE and this was AFTER I purchased it.
>Mfw the head gasket is going to blow at any second
>Mfw there is rust in the unibody and a repairman quoted me $5000
>Mfw car looks like pic related

Your parents should be mad at you because you're a fucking idiot and they're disappointed in themselves for raising a fucking idiot if this isn't a troll.
even for ameripoors, 7500 really shouldn't be that much. I earn more than that a month working glorified part time in europe.
consider it an expensive lesson.
Post actual picture, it's <the current year> and your phone doesn't have a camera?
What are some good cars to learn to drive stick on? My friends either don't own one or aren't willing to let me potentially ruin their clutch so I'm looking to buy some POS I won't mind wearing out.
>Get the car that you want in manual
>Love/need for car causes you to learn faster
>Get good fast
You aren't going to ruin a clutch from learning manual.
>>16050084
This. What the fuck, anon. Edumacate your friends. Stalling doesn't hurt the vehicle as much as it sounds / seems.
On top of that, I pay more in gas every 3 months than my clutch plate is to replace on my Ranger.
I'm looking to buy a panoramic mirror, does anyone have experience with these or advice for me?
>>16050057
Why?
You can forget about driving at night btw
>>16050067
well for better visibility, my stock mirror is quite small and i have nice large windows so i feel i could utilize a larger rear-view mirror, also my dad thinks it will help me be safer :) Why do you say its bad for night time?
>>16050076
People who drive behind you will blind you as this panoramic mirror doesn't have that angle adjustment thing that makes the mirror dark at night.
I'm not even going to talk about the size of this thing.
Your best bet would be buying a bigger mirror that goes over your old one
So I recently found out that modern lancers (including non-evos) have an option to switch off awd for 2wd. Can anyone confirm if this makes the car accelerate faster? It should on paper!
>Inb4 base lancers have shit acceleration anyway
I know
EDIT: by 2wd, I mean fwd
>>16049887
How does it accelerate faster with 2WD. Basic logic and understanding should tell you this is not true.
>>16049901
Assuming traction isn't an issue the lowered drive train loss would help
Do manufacturers cover their steering wheels in buttons just to annoy you or is there an actual benefit of it?
A few of the buttons make sense, but mostly it's all about
>muh racekar aesthetics
Because why would you need the suspension settings and start engine button on the steering wheel.
>>16065253
This. Eventually they'll find a way to incorporate every button onto it
>>16065235
Are those fucking turn signal BUTTONS?
Put a 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone in a spray bottle and use that for your penetrating fluid. You'll never buy PB Blaster or even Kroil ever again. That mixture is nothing short of amazing.
My son used that mixture and took the entire front axle out from under his 94 F150 4x4 using nothing but hand tools.
>>16049818

Thanks, but no thanks. I like my penetrating oil ton come out at high pressure in a small, convenient can that's easily identifiable, tough, and constant.
WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO MELD THE DUST BOOT ONTO THE FUCKING CALIPER. HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO REPLACE THIS AND POWDERCOAT THE FUCKING CALIPER NOW
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>16049733
guess I'm not powdercoating them after all
It's actually like that on my motorcycle's caliper too. They have these guiding pins on the side with long ass dust boots that are attached to the caliper itself. Kind of annoying
Also
>painting calipers
>>16049899
My calipers were red from the factory, but it's a 30 year old car now and I want to restore them.
>not painting calipers that were originally painted
Ok guys, I need your help.

Some kind of VW T3
What's your opinion on dacia as a car producer? Is it any good? Do people in the states even know it? I am thinking of buying one as my first real car(my current one is a "hand me down" from my mom). I like the dacia duster and from what I read on the Internet it's not really bad for the price.
>>16049256
Cheaper renaults made in Romania. Simple cars with not much going for them beside the low price and extensive guaranty (5 years). Is the kind of car that you buy new, use it for 5 years and after that you sell it to buy a new one.

Shitboxes that you can have for cheap.Drives good for shitbox standars. The interior is shit and on most trims the performance is terible.
What did you get done this weekend /o/?
> salvaged 2dr vent windows
> removed perfect solid window from jeep
> realized I have no friends
> put original window back in jeep
>>16049226
Did a coolant flush, and changed the diff oil in muh XJ. That's all I could muster this weekend.
>want to get into a project car
>no idea where to start
it's probably just a money sink anyway r-right?
Tried to put an mx5 (miata) specific roll bar in just to find that the rear legs that you drill into the boot compartment is too long and hits the firewall, gonna have to cut an entire bolt hole off either side just to have it fit, not to mention I bought it second hand and a few bits of hardware isn't there
Anyone else finding new car designs uglier than older ones? I feel like the old models that were blockier and sharper were far more aesthetically pleasing and elegand rather than newer concepts. Pic related to prove my point.
>>16049075
If you want to compare models at least use the same models from their periods. Not an M5 and some random 5series
>>16049075
Are those two even the same model line? The one on the right looks like a GT or hatchback if you look at the rear end.
>>16049075
What is with /o/ and this blind hate on anything that is new?
What went wrong /o/?
NISSAN SCUM!!!
Nissan pretending to be luxury.
Good cars if you can afford them new. Nissan blended style and performance well in the 90s and that is pretty much all you could ask for from a luxury brand.
Paddle shifting twin turbos isn't my idea of fun but it could be worse - you could be a nigger in an Acura Accord.
