It's actually like that on my motorcycle's caliper too. They have these guiding pins on the side with long ass dust boots that are attached to the caliper itself. Kind of annoying

Tried to put an mx5 (miata) specific roll bar in just to find that the rear legs that you drill into the boot compartment is too long and hits the firewall, gonna have to cut an entire bolt hole off either side just to have it fit, not to mention I bought it second hand and a few bits of hardware isn't there
