My engine (VQ) calls for "Premium Fuel"

91 is more common in my area, but 93 is available. Is it "better" for my engine to drink 93, or is 91 fine? Any actual noticeable difference, or does it all burn the same?

I don't want to pay extra for 93 if it literally makes zero difference.

If your car calls for a certain octane, use at least that.

Anything more is pointless.
>>
>>16062428
buy what your car recommends, and nothing more. the only exception is when it's a crummy brand that only puts good detergents in the top octane option

I have been saving up to buy a 2010-2013 Porsche Cayman S however I am now having second thoughts

>thought for sure a Cayman S would be the car for me
>love the looks
>flat 6 engine
>today I ride with my friend in his new 2001 Corvette Z06
>has an insane amount of torque and acelleration
>the seat of the pants feel is amazing
>not sure I can get that kind of rush from a Porsche

Am I right? Or am I just starstruck since I just rode in the Z06?

The way your tires are turned has literally nothing to do with how you handle and use your clutch/gas

I think you're experiencing a confirmation bias

Is it a mistake to buy a BMW thats 2008 or older?

I'm pretty handy with a wrench but I've never worked on a eurocar before.

I see that you can get 2008s for $10-12K these days and a lot of them seem to be in decent condition.

tl;dr
Is a 2008 3-series manual trans a bad idea? am i asking for a headache?

What's the best color for a mustang? I'm thinking indigo or blue, possibley yellow stripes. The main thing is that it matches the vintage Cali plates(black and yellow).

I mean, it's cool and all, but $800? Seriously? What's the market?

It's early tech from a young company that needs to overcharge on the hype to rake in cash to continue to develop and make newer better cheaper products.

This.

Anyone that actually ever thought buying this type of product is a good idea was retarded.

Literally take my mom's phone, DL a bunch of free apps on the market, and make this myself.

Hey guys

I have a 1992 F150. I don't know much about cars but I've been learning more as I do maintenance on this truck I've had for a couple months now.

The problem I'm trying to fix now is it's really hesitant to start most of the time. Occasionally it will crank right up, but more often than not I have to crank it for 1-2 seconds.

Both battery terminals/wires had corrosion. Today, I cleaned them up really well with a wire brush and some cleaner. While cleaning one of the negative wires, I noticed some corrosion down under the insulation, so I stripped it back to find it was COVERED in dirt and corrosion (like as I was peeling it back shit was literally pouring out). I stripped the insulation back another 10 inches until I didn't see much corrosion, and cleaned that whole section up.

The truck still starts the same. Should I try cutting back the insulation on the positive wire, or will it even make a difference? It's probably something else entirely, right? I know there's probably value in eliminating variables so maybe just go ahead and do that and then focus my efforts elsewhere?

Any theories as to what else could cause this problem? Is it even worth fixing since it still starts?

>>
replace the battery cables
rust doesn't conduct electricity well and neither does the air that replaced it once you scraped it all off
>>
Wait... does it crank at the same speed when it takes 1-2 seconds to start as it does when it starts right up?
>>
Who cares? 2 seconds is nothing. The air temperature can do that.

Hey /o/ I'm considering buying a 2008 mustang deluxe. I live in New York and I'm not sure if its a good idea considering the upcoming winter and snow. How bad an idea is RWD in my position? Also do you have experience with RWD in the snow?

rear wheel drive is best wheel drive
>>
If it's anything like the last winter here in NY you'll be fine, last year I was wearing a T-shirt and shorts on Christmas day and only had to shovel twice the whole winter.

If we get the usual foot of snow every few days from November to March (which it looks like, given how cold it already is outside), just make sure you've got good snow tires and know how to drive in the winter (steer, brake or gas, never two+ at once unless you want to go sideways).

Also, expect your car to start rusting away within a few years because of the ludicrous amount of salt the staties put on the road when it snows.
>>
>>16061487
I've live in Canada and drive RWD all year round. Winter tires and don't drive like a retard. You'll be fine.

Well at first people would assume "Niggers" but you'd be a bit surprised to find out that it'd actually be Mexicans. Mexicans like to put god awful large rims on trucks, whilst blacks like to put them on cars.

These things have huge tuning potential if you get them with the inline 5.

The V6 models aren't as ridiculously moddable, but they are good candidates for a 2.7TT swap from an A6 or (R)S4.

And if you truly want to go full madman, the 4.2l V8 fits in the engine bay as well.

Buying a truck soon and can't decide between the 5.0 or Ecoboost. Which of the two would you choose and why?

>>
>>16061091
A good turbo is worth more than an extra 1.5L of displacement
>>
In all honesty, the ecoboost seems to be working out pretty well for the F series line. My father owns one, and it's been a great performer so far. It tows his 22ft travel trailer exceptionally well, and it gets decent mileage for being as big as it is. However, Ecoboost is still new and fairly unproven as far as long term reliability goes.

So if you're at all nervous about the longevity of ecoboost, i'd stick with the 5.0. Either way, i think you'll do just fine.
