How many km's is too many? What do you think is the limit for second hand cars, Japanese cars to be specific.

After fighting with the DMV to allow us to paint our plates we finally got approval! They used to be Blue and White from the 70's. We're now in the process in restoring the thing
The engine is now pulled and we are in the process of stripping it for paint

how come every other 911 turbo is like 80k+ and this one is like 40-45k?

"NOT A REAL 911" purists, and people don't like the fried egg headlights. Mechanically it's very similar to the 997.

Because it's at the bottom of its depreciation cycle.
The 993 was similarly priced in the early- mid 2000s.

Previous decks have been replaced by a new, single deck so we got rid of a lot of double cards.
As requested by someone in one of the previous threads, manufacturer names have been moved to a different deck so everyone can choose to use them or not.
New deck codes:
Cars Against Humanity - Vol. 2 - GPYB4
Cars Against Humanity - Vol. 2 (the manufacturer pack) - PEDXX
Old deck codes, not in use:
Cars Against Humanity - JK5GR
Cars Against Sanity - 75E2Y
/o/ - KEVXZ
There is a noticeable shortage of black cards, so post your ideas here and they will be included in the deck
Here, I have a black card for ya.

What's the general consensus on Mitsubishi? I've been thinking about getting a newer lancer but I want to know why they're so cheap
For example this is a local from Craigslist it's 2013 with 80k miles and he wants 8k for it
>>16064822
what a rip off. thats $4k at best
>>16064822
Manual or Auto?
Got a Ralliart in 2014, already done 75k km on it.
Just had to get the gearbox replaced, a $10k dollar part, luckily it was covered under warranty.
>>16064832
And then another one from a fucking lot
2015 lancer es with 30k miles, 12.5k why??
I need that chart for the best prices / dorito cars.
How would a volvo 240 fair for both daily driving and some fast cornering/speeding on the highway at night.
I don't need to win against a v8 mustang i'm not racing I just want comfortable fun that I can daily drive without paying for 11 mpg.
>>16063728
You need to make coilovers fur the front, fur the backs most people use revalved billsteins, the stock suspension is literally 80lb springs with shit dampers.
After that maybe some wider wheels and fresh tires and you'll be good handling wise.
Some people run the 260 sway bars as they are stiffer and some people double up the rear sway bars.
Wheel pattern is 5x108 which kinda sucks not many options but you can use adapters to go 114.3 and then you have hella options.
>>16063728
Mine wasn't too economical and probably only got 18-20mpgs but it was fun in the rain or snow. It is comfortable to drive as long as the seats aren't blown out, the handling isnt the tightest but you can still easily muscle it around. They are also relatively cheap to maintain if you do most of the work yourself. I loved mine though, want to v8 swap one eventually
>>16063792
Is there something else in this price bracket you'd recommend over the 240 in terms of economy/reliability versus mpgs
Dear /o/,
I'm looking for a cheap sporty/luxury car that I can use as a comfortable around-townmobile. I will use it to learn to drive a manual transmission and to learn to work on cars. My only criteria:
>$5kish budget, though $3kish would be even better
>Must be manual
>Must be reasonably luxurious/sporty
>Must not be a total basket case wrt reliability, and parts shouldn't be too expensive
>Like to avoid anything from VAG or BMW
With that said I've picked out these as likely candidates:
>Jag X-type
V6 models had a manual
>Jag S-type
Also some V6s had manuals, though these are unicorns
>Mid-aughts Saab 9-3/9-5
Ideally I'd find a V6 with a 6-speed for one of these
Anyone have insight into these models? Any cars that fit into my budget that I'm missing? I'm attracted to these so far because I know the Jags are basically Fords and the Saab is a GM product, so I'm hoping reliability won't be too bad and parts won't be too expensive.
>>16063610
>luxury
>manual
pick one.
get an ls400 or a civic for 3k and fuck off.
>>16063610
Saab is probably your best bet for a manual sporty luxury(-ish) car that's not a BMW, despite >FWD.

Bought a new car and I want to treat it right. In terms of keeping the car in the best possible shape, am I better of doing the maintenance myself, or having a professional do it? Only reason I ask is because I hear that mechanics tend to use bottom of the barrel stuff to cut out more profit for themselves. What's the best option here? Bringing my own parts and have the mechanic use that?
>>16062374
I think it truly depends on your knowledge level.
Having simple knowledge of basic maintenanceable parts is important. Obviously know how to change your oil, brakes, rotors, and other things. Aside from that, if your car is under warranty go ahead and take advantage of it because its free fixings on that part.
I think if you KNOW how to fix something then fix it. Google is your friend and use your best judgement. Don't do something you don't know how to do obviously
>>16062374
Just do it yourself. It isn't hard.
>>16062399
I would say it can be very hard if you don't have the tools for certain maintenance

I get extremely sweaty hands very easily. Sometimes I have to grip the steering wheel so hard my hands start cramping because it's so slippery. I couldn't live with myself buying sparco gloves for normal traffic. Will work gloves do the trick?
>Inb4 drive in a way that doesn't make you break a sweat

>>16061765

I use that exact glove for work. Yes it would work, I used to drive a forklift with them.
Get that quality, not cheap shit.
