I was given a 2014 ford fusion as my first car and I'm tired of having fucking buttons on the side of my stick for sport mode. It's annoying and impractical. Is there any way to get my car altered to have something like pic related or paddle shifters? Inb4 manual master race. I'm not driving stick in socal traffic
your best bet is to just live with it

Dear /o/tists,
I'm trying to replace the strut tower mounts on a 95 Audi S6 Avant.
We are having serious difficulty removing the strut top bolt. It appears to be a self-locking nylon nut.
We have the proper tool to get the proper alen key in, but when we go to remove it the hex in the strut starts to strip.
So far it is as it shows in the image, slightly warped but still usable.
Any tips? There is no option of taking it to a real mechanic because no monies.

haha tiem for angle grinders
Are you using an impact wrench with an Allen key attachment ?
I think that's the only thing that will work
How reliable is the Evo V?
I've been looking into them and they fit my price range well, have four doors, and seem overall pretty practical combined with fun and an aesthetic appearance, so the only question left on my mind is how reliable they would be if I intend to use one as a DD?
>>16738201
Gas is terrible
What are the chances of buying an unabused one?
Prepare to spend money on clutches if it was previously abused (if fitted with an aftermarket clutch, prepare to rebuild your trans), also if with stock turbo and it was fitted with a boost controller prepare for rebuild or replacement of your turbo.
Also no gas.
It's an older vehicle so it's going to have occasionally maintenance to begin with.
However one thing to consider is that not only is this an AWD vehicle (meaning more expensive to maintain) but it's a vehicle that has been driven hard most likely from the previous owner.
Also gas will not be your friend.
Not saying don't buy, I just wouldn't daily it.
>>16738214 I've heard shit about Evos having serious reliability problems, so I intend on finding one with little to no modifications. I found a couple of clean Evos in my price range online, but I don't know if they were modified at all or not because insufficient details were provided.
All info I could find online regarding the MPG is that it ranged from 22 to 28, which I could definitely manage, but none of it came from any official sources.

Yeah, I'm gonna keep this in mind.

The LT4 Corvette has 330hp and better handling. The LS1 Camaro has 325hp and is cheaper.
Corvette is better at being a sports car and overall is just much better.
Get the camaro. Back seats. God tier ls.

Didn't you make this same thread with different cars before? The right car will come, be patient. The Vette looks nice but I'd look into that vin and see why it's been written off
Is snap-on tools just a meme or are they're pricess warranted as opposed to craftsmen and husky/HF shit.
This goes for everything,
Hand tools
Electric cordless
Tool chests and miscellaneous
>>16738176
>This goes for everything,
But it doesn't, it depends on the tool, what you are using it for, and why. In my case some tools I will only by from Snap On, and others I am fine with Harbor Freight. If I worked on heavy diesels or trains there would be different tools that I needed to hold up forever and others I could use cheap shit. You'll figure it out when you need to, if you have to wonder if it's worth it you probably don't need to spend that much on a tool.
Poorfags complain about not being able to afford real tools, go get a Stanley set from Walmart
>>16738176
It depends on many different factors. Their 80 tooth ratchet is wonderful and worth every penny, but their boxes are just overkill for a DIY person.
They have a really nice cordless ratchet if you are a pro, but other than that I would steer clear of their cordless tools. You're better off with a brand like milwaukee or dewalt.
What's the best summer tire in 205/55r16? I was thinking about ordering a set of these BFG g-force sport comp 2s for my shitbox.
>>16738172
>Best
Are you people really this dumb? Post your:
>Budget
>Performance requirements
>Endurance requirements
>Location/climate
And maybe then you can get a decent recommendation other than "dunno, I'm using X tire and it seems better than the corded Y tire I was using before".
>>16738696
Budget doesn't matter, I don't need them immediately so I've got plenty of time to save up.
Good grip for toegay but still daily driveable.
I don't care how long they last.
Texas, rarely gets under 40° F. I can run summers all year.

Looking to get a comfy SUV for the family. How reliable are these? I'm looking at a few with around 130k miles for under 10k
>Rust problems (if you live where it snows and they didn't undercoat it)

other than that pretty fucking reliable afaik
>>16737440
Pretty reliable, my mum still has her 2007 Limited model. It's reaching 300,000 miles.

>Get to pic related in the PDF
>Shit just got real complicated lads. I have zero experience with this stuff. Should I just keep trucking on and disassemble the whole thing or what?
why? its not hurting it. he probably put it there to keep corrosion away.
just clean the carb and drain the old oil normally.
>>16736991
All oil and gasoline have been drained. I'm going to need a new air filter since the old one is soaked in motor oil right?
And is that a yes to a complete disassembly or what?
>>16737086
>I'm going to need a new air filter since the old one is soaked in motor oil right?
Is it one of those little foam block things, like on a lawn mower? Those are supposed to have some amount of oil in them.

considering a compact like a cruze or a civic with 50-70,000km runs about 10-11,000$ CND I say you did good (even if its a subcompact).
cheap cars, decently reliable, cheap to run
wouldn't wanna crash in one tho
Which bike would you rather buy, a
SUZUKI GSX-S750ZL5
Or a

personally I'd probably go with the ninja.

What are /o/'s thoughts on Subaru?
I traded out of a Jeep Liberty into a Crosstrek for the ol lady to drive, and I'm over my Wrangler and want to get another Subaru, but I can't decide which one I want, and I'm thinking of waiting for their 2018 refresh to see if they will offer an improved product across the board after their newest Impreza was so well received.
I know the head gasket meme is only 2010 and earlier, and Suby is only for lesbos and vapers apparently, but those memes aside, would you trade an iconic TJ Wrangler for a practical daily driver? If so, which one? And if not, why not? I'm open to suggestions, but besides being sadly underpowered, I love the Crosstrek.
Pic unrelated. Just my project truck.
Tl;dr I live in Michigan and want an awd econo-adventure mobile.
