What's a good American made car? I prefer to buy things made here in my home country but I like euro styling
>>16732539

>>16732573
2nd gen camaro has euro-inspired styling.
Are these trucks a meme?
>I4 gets decent mileage, slow as shit though and you can find minivans that haul more
>V6 is actually decent but chugs as much gas as a full size
Might as well get an F150 unless you really want >muh manual.
>>16732282
rangers a CUTE
They're dependable trucks, more than their big bro f150, and for hauling and towing small shit they're a great bang for the buck compared to a tacoma
>>16732295
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have one, but I'm struggling to find a reason to buy one over an old Silverado. They both cost an arm and a leg if you want one that hasn't rusted out or been poorly modified.
Hey /o/- Assume effort is out of the picture, but not money. Would you go for an RX-7, a Miata, or a Gen 1 or 2 MR2?
Pic unrelated.
If you want to just shell out a certain amount of money for a fun car you're not going to have to fuck with or worry about then Miata for sure.
>>16732037
The Miata is by far the least likely to turn into a money pit that you'll have to continuously shovel your precious dollarydoos into.
>>16732037
All shitboxes, don't bother.
That said, get the RX-7
Due to complex circumstances mostly involving falling in and out of abject poverty, I have a car that I bought quite fairly for $2000 but it now needs $1700 in repairs and barely runs.
I already bought a new vehicle (pictured) so all I want to do with the old one is get rid of it. What's the best way to go about this?
>>16732001
donate it, try to sell it as is, or call local junkyard to see what they give for cars. They usually tow your car away for free.
>>16732001
call up a scrapyard and say "come pick it up". you may get 200-300 bucks if you take it there, 0-100 if they pick it up.
Clever car for someone who falls in and out of poverty.
Fuckhead.
I want to know what kind of car to get, but I don't know shit about models / brands.
I want a car with at least a V6, with a manual transmission, decent trunk space (or collapsible rear seats), and excellent reliability.
I'd also like rear wheel drive, ability to attach a trailer hitch, ABS, and body work made out of decent metal (fuck you, Hyundai).
All of this stock would be nice, but I'd be willing to spend up to 10 grand on something that will last.
Pretty car in >pic related is unrelated.
Sounds like a pickup honestly.
>>16731968
Are there any good pickups that get over 25 highway and meet the criteria?
>>16731962
It sucks that they legally can't make a car that looks like that anymore.
I loved my last car but it was getting too expensive to repair in its last days (~190k miles).
It had 250hp, 258 lb-ft of torque and an average 0-60 of 6.6 second.
Compare that to the new (used) car that I just purchased to replace it: 184hp, 175 lb-ft torque, and an average 0-60 of 7.6 seconds.
It feels like I'm driving a soccer mom's car.
I really want to feel the g's again and I'm wondering if there is a relatively cheap shitbox around $5k USD that could give me that thrill. If not, how are racing sim setups with the current technology? I remember playing Cruisin' World at Circus Pizza back in the late 90's and loving it and I'm sure things have come a long way since then.
What would you guys recommend?
>>16731749
Dang man, that is a really tough spot.
For 5k, you could have an extremely immersed experience for virtual racing all the way up to a chair that has hydraulics installed to help u feel the G's happening in game.
As for a real life experience... shoot. I hope someone else can give a solid answer because I'm not very knowledgeable about older vehicles

>As for a real life experience... shoot. I hope someone else can give a solid answer because I'm not very knowledgeable about older vehicles
Thanks for the response. I was reading up on sim racing games yesterday but my heart is definitely leaning towards getting an older car but I don't know think I'll be able to find anything in that price range so maybe I'll just wait ~10+ years until I have enough money to get a decent second car for fun.
Also, even if I did get a sim racing setup I would still probably stick to driving street cars.
Real life and vidya will never even be close. Hit up the local track and have some fun.
>Sold for the 2017 equivalent of $11,916.56 brand new in 1967

>Will run forever
>Fun and lightweight because not strangled by regulations
Fucking boomers, the beetle was a car for "poor people" back in the day because of how strong the economy was, and it was still enjoyable to drive.
You had to adjust the valves every 15k miles, fuck that
They drive like ass, don't be deluded
>>16731500
>Buy RWD V8 muscle car in the 60s for very little money compared to a modern Camaro

What's the best way to train advanced driving skills?
I've had my drivers license for over 10 years now and have driven a fair bit, and recently switched to a considerably more powerful and demanding car.
Now I want to spend some time learning how to use it properly.
Any recommendations for a book covering the theory? As in how a car will behave in certain situations and why.
Have you ever been on an advanced driving course? There are a few close by, where you can go on a track for a day and mess about with an instructor.
>>16730947
She's cute
>>16730947
>What's the best way to train advanced driving skills?
unless your planning to win le mans you dont need advanced driving skills.
if you really want to push your current skill to the limit try to get your CDL. if you can drive a tractor trailer or bus that is some skill right there
>>16731484
>you dont need advanced driving skills
Don't listen to this idiot.
Any edge you can get against the Joe Regular may save your life someday.
Start with car sims. Get a car with a stickshift, once you learn to drive it, a whole new world will open to you and you won't be able to tolerate the auto tranny anymore, unless it is DCT.
Get the best tires you can for your car, even if they cost three times as much.
>skill to the limit try to get your CDL
That'll teach you the opposite - lots and lots of patience, obeying all the road signs and driving the speed limit.
The only way to get advanced driving skills is practice, practice, practice. And push the car to the limit every time you can, one bit at a time, so when (not if) it loses traction, it'll be just a little and you'll be able to deal with it. Then push further. Then some more. Just away from people - preferably on an empty mountain road with good corner visibility, or on a racetrack.
And this, while is not directly related, is a good reading: http://www.autozine.org/technical_school/tech_index.html
redpill me on cars that are reliable as toyota
not anything from general motors or fca that's for damn sure

Goddam internet trolls.
That's unbelievably, categorically WRONG!
You left out Ford.

Kill you are self
So I'm in the market for a Land Rover Defender. It's uses would be off-road or general SHTF
>ind4 irelevant
So which engine should I go for? From what I have seen the 2.5l Tdi and non turbo are the most abundant in my area.
When SHTF , how will you service/repair your Land Cucker? Are you a eurocuck or a burger?
If its SHTF and you are based in murrica, you are better off getting anything ford or gm based. Plenty of those will be scattered and abandoned. Easy to get parts for.
However. Shtf will not happen so enjoy your defendet and just remember, if it is not leaking oil something is wrong.
BMW 2.8L
>>16730599
diesels are more reliable than the V8
on the other hand the V8 is piss easy to fix
Parts for the V8 are also cheaper since the engine is in a lot of other cars and there's a big aftermarket
The entire car can be reduced to every single individual component using a 32 piece socket set and a screwdriver so for 'shtf' you are fine (in europe anyway)
If you get one you also need a britpart catalog
>eurocucks will never get to own a big truck
Joke's on you, coworker owns a Ram SRT10 >in Germany. I'm merely to intelligent too own a truck.
imagine being an americuck with not only a small penis but also a circumcised one

The pictured charger is pcool
since it has 3 webers on each side it looks like a V12.
My fav though is the Coronet anchor car they use to drag on the war rig
Always loved the bat car. To bad it met a messy end in the Road Warrior.
