when is it ever a good idea to approach a girl when 99% of the people are guys
>friends
Yes, very likely.
>GF
Not in your wildest dreams. The only girls at those are the woman of someone who is attending.
What might be the cause that camshaft/crankshaft sensors are out of sync in LS3 Chevrolet engine?
May the crankshaft be the culprit as it appears to be a little bit skewed.
>>16734949
P0010?
>>16734949
Timing chain wear.
Keyway on crank/cam or sprocket pounded out.
Time for teardown and inspection
>>16735000
Too be honest I don't know.
My friend builds cars and asked if I can google/ use various forums in order to figure out the cause.
He is polish and don't know English reason he can't do it himself.
Can you give me a couple of hints why there is no sync? I would appreciate any help.
Background:
Had experience with GM (305/350), Nissan/Honda/Toyota. Mostly older vehicle, know timing belt and basic maintenance well.
What is good beginner BMW? I heard BMW will not cost more than Honda (Honda need more often care/parts are cheap, BMW need to replace part at correct time/expensive but last longer)
I just did coolant reservoir and o-ring replacement for my friend's 325ci and to be honest is not that hard, I never had BMW before so ask for experienced BMW fag what should I looking for.
1) Manual
2) Easy to work on (If PT cruiser is around 8, regular Honda is like 3, what is BMW's number?)
3) Longevity? BMW part last longer-True/False?
4) My budget is around 5k, E30/E36 then replace basic parts like suspension/ cooling system, oil pump/belt etc.
Thank you.

you're welcome

Literally this
Are you gay op?
I sincerely think this is the most beautifil car ever built, what do you think?
I respectfully disagree.
Artist's shit in a can in car form.
Lines are good, and it flows better without a roof. The face is still fucked though.

This is /o/. We are are all here for the same reason. We love cars. Let's show some love to the oft under appreciated daily beaters. I'll start. 4.0 5SP that I picked up for $500 couple years ago. She turned 21 this year.

It looks good anon. How's the interior?
>>16734802
It's almost perfect. Headliner isn't sagging anywhere. None of the leather seats are cracked. Only cosmetic damage to the car at all is a slight crack in the fender and tape on the passenger mirror.
As for the reliability problem though, I'm likely taking it into a shop this week. I don't have the time to repair it myself with my current job.
What's up with loud exhausts?
People say certain ones sound good even though when I hear them, they sound awful and headache inducing especially with the drone.
And don't get me started on fart can exhausts

Great exhaust here

When I cut my truck's muffler off after it had rusted through, it sounded nice. Loved the way that thing growled.
My dad's Sentra sounds awful with a hole in the pipe though.
What year is this cadillac? Something looks off to me but I have no idea what
I'd say late 90s or early 2000s judging by the lights on it.
I made an Android app that measures how much time, or how little time, you save when speeding.
Let me know what you think /o/
https://jakehilborn.github.io/speedr/
>>16734139
I speed pretty much everywhere I go, and Google Maps tries to figure out how long it'll take you to get somewhere using the posted speed limits on the road's you'll be taking, traffic lights, stuff like that, and it'll tell you if you arrived on time.
I've found that speeding pretty much at all times (5 to 10 miles over pretty consistantly) only saves me around 2 to 3 minutes, 5 minutes at MAX.
So, yes, it does save time, but not enough to matter.
>>16734139
It can, but it's really just luck. What color the light is when you get there.
>>16734162
That's been my experience too. I can save hours on long, primarily freeway, road trips though.
Are the transmissions on these really as bad as the horror stories say? I've got about $14k total to spend on a daily driver and these are cheap for the mileage (can get one with 28k miles for $11500 list price), plus I love the interior.
Just buy a manual one and enjoy the interior without that shit DCT blowing up on you.
and yes, they are shit in the 2014 and 15s
>>16734072
I'm too lazy to work a manual, did they fix them on the 16s?
>>16734033
What do you drive now?
>>16734100
kill yourself.
Simple question.
If you were offered the choice between pic related for free, you got to keep it for three years and drive it as much as you want but couldn't sell it, which would you take and why?
86.
I'd rather handling than power.
>>16734022
Do you give it up after 3 years? As in a lease? If so I'd take the audi since maintenance won't be an issue
>>16734051
Ye, I guess imagine like you were leasing the car only all the payments were $0.00.
Assuming I had fuck you money and wanted to build a fast 4 mile racetrack with lots of turns, about how much would it cost?
Somewhere in the ballpark of $30 million plus land and legal fees because of lawsuits from neighbors.
>>16733843
depends where you're at OP.
30 million is a pretty conservative estimate.
>>16733888
I was taking my figure from this article.
http://jalopnik.com/5849231/in-his-front-yard-this-man-built-americas-largest-private-racetrack
Quotes $7.5 million for a mile long track.
Hey /o/tists, moving further away from university next fall so I'm gonna need to get a DD shitbox to commute, any recommendations would be appreciated; my autistic criteria is listed below along with vehicles I've considered
>manual
>car or hothatch
>4WD/AWD/FWD in that order
>entertaining to drive
>around $8,000
I've considered
>~02 hatchback civic hatch
>~07 Mazdaspeed 3
>any year really wrx or sti hatch I don't vape tho, so I'm not sure
>mkIV R32
In all I was hoping I could just get some help narrowing down my focus on which vehicle would work best for me, prices or potential listings aren't listed for that reason. Thanks in advance
>>16733680
Just get a civic for 3k.
>>16733689
I'm aware that civics are a popular choice on here which is why I included one in my list, my only concern is FWD's ability to go through the snow
Sorry if I come across as retarded but I've only ever owned and driven RWD cars so my experience is limited on FWD
>>16733707
Fwd is miles better in the snow. I've driven both. That extra weight on front wheels helps with the traction
Im the Anon who spilled coolant into the spark plug chamber yesterday
I did what yall suggested and just finished all the spark plugs now. I started the car for about 60 seconds and some smoke was coming from the general area that coolant got into so I killed the engine... This is just the residual burning off no? Or is my car gonna explode at any moment I'm driving it?
Did you spill any by the exhaust? It might just be some spilled coolant burning off.
>>16733603
Coolant is soluble in water so I would try and flush it with water then let it dry
if you want it dier sooner you can make an emulsion of 5% acetone in water which will help it dry quicker
Residual most likely. You should get a mix of steam and smoke as the coolant diluted oil and grease so it smokes much easier
Is Mercedes overrated?
yes
next
In what regard?
American Mercedes or elsewhere?
