State law requires a 24 hour waiting period for long guns, and 3 days for hand guns.

That said, if you're getting a private transfer from a family member (relationships specified by the state, so no, you're fifteenth cousin doesn't count), it's completely different. Non-family private transfers technically must abide by waiting periods, but I doubt people do that, given that you just run the FOID number on the ISP site to verify the card, and write up a bill of sale.

There are only three gun shops even close to Chicago. All require 24 hours wait for pistols and 3 days for rifles.

When I bought a new one, I bought it with the epoxy black finish because I planned on making it into a carry gun, and the blued finish would probably wear easily.

But after scuffing the hell out of the frame trying to remove the trigger pin, I had it refinished in cerakote, I chose matte black (which turned out to be parkerized/dark gray in the end).

So If you want something fancy then get the blued. If you intend to make it a serious gun then get the epoxy black finish.

Also, don't hesitate buying one. FN is going to discontinue the gun in 2018 after 83 years of production.

I'm looking at the MkIIIs on GunBroker right now and the Matte looks pretty lame, and the parkerized even more so.
I like the fancy aspect, i want to pair it with pic related, but also plan on shooting it plenty since i have the ability to reload ammo.

Heading to Wright Patt? The physical blows and it'll take awhile to get complete but don't be that guy who's whining the whole time about sitting around. Especially if you're a cadet, otherwise, you're likely to have a few commissioned aviators there (we had three) who can tell you about their airframes.

Also, you've got years before you think about bomber/fighter or heavies track. I'd steer away from A-10s and F-16s, go for newer airframes that aren't getting downscaled.

I'm certain Uncle Sam will decide for you.

.308 and .22 pistol. I get a real rifle for long range hunting and protection, and also a small game harvester. You don't mention any other gear so weight isn't a big factor. And I would hate trying to stop a charging bear with a pistol grip shotgun.

Firat off, all combat vehicles are useless alone. Secondy, field artillery takes in best case 5 - 10 minutes to geton target, mortars might be slightly faster. A tank kan get its round on target in about 1,5 seconds after seeing it and is way more accurate at close ranges, so it has its specific role. Also, they are scary and good for taking out your opponents vehicles.

Their value might not be as large in asymetrical warfare, but they can be of use there too.

Tanks still retain certain relevance in COIN operations. While in the end it is the rifleman that needs to clear and hold ground, the tank provides considerable firepower, armor, and psychological effect, like clearing through cities like Fallujah or Tal Afar. Modern technologies like APS or reactive armor could prove to be useful. However there is no be all end all weapon, that is why we have infantry, tanks, planes, ships, whatever, as perhaps even the most modern tanks (unsupported) can be knocked out by a simple but well constructed IED.
