What's up my /k/ommandos.
I'm really shitting myself here and nervous for my family.
>my mom, my little brother (16) and my little sister (11) are living in Mexico, and I just recently got dragged along to move with them.
>originally from mexico but my entire family and I moved to the U.S. and lived there for 10 years until now.
>I dont feel comfortable here and I always hear news about some kidnapping, shootout between cartel members and the fuerza civil.
>I fear for the safety of my little brother and sister because theres always some no-balls scumbag kidnapping little kids.
>mind you we don't look like the american stereotype of what a mexican is. My little sister is white skin with blonde hair and green eyes.
>I'm afraid she and my little brother could become a target.
>Not sure about the gun laws here. But my mom has agreed that it could become necessary
>Dont give much of a shit about my safety since I love my brother, sister and mom to death.
How can i defend them? Are there any tactics or habits I coukd pick up to spot targets and possible dangers from afar? Any books you'd recommend?
>21, haven't worked out in over a year, I look moderately fit when i wear a hoody. Weak as shit.
What coukd i do to learn to protect them? Any workout regimes you'd recommend? Please give me any and all input. I've always heard of stories about some of the shit that goes down in Mexico but never witnessed it since I've lived in Chicago for 10 years straight.
Combat vets, LEO's, contractors and maybe even for the slim chance of an actual operator being here, please I need advice.

Dye her hair, make her fat. Same with the brother. Get some fake tan shit too and make them black as fuck. Basically just make them ugly and poor looking, then you should be okay.
Is there a magazine that can reliably feed 300 blackout 230 grain or 247 grain and also longer bullets like Lehigh defense close quarters? Seems there are issues with followers and ribs inside the magazine and also the springs aren't strong enough to lift the heavier bullets.

>>34747946
I've heard these aren't much of an improvement and that longer rounds still get caught up like NOEs 247 grain. And what about the spring? If it's the same then you'd still have feeding issues with the heavier rounds.
Can i request for a custom sword to be built? I want a family sword to pass on to my son and his son after him, without being a wall decoration. Anybody know of blacksmiths who can make battle-ready shortswords like pic related? Ive been searching for a store bought one and this is the only one that really caught my eye.
have you searched for custom swordsmiths? there are tons.
>>34747740
You're fucking autistic, but fine
https://www.albion-swords.com/
They make swords based on ancient metallurgy and actual museum samples, and are run by historians and sword makers. Everything is fully functional, but don't be fucking retarded, it's a wall piece. I'm not a sword-fag I'm just a history autist, and I've wanted a real gladius to hold while reading Caesar and other Roman history for a while, but haven't been able to save up with all the money I put into my guns and school
>>34747740
Do you have at least a thousand to drop on a sword? That's how much a custom one will cost at the bare minimum.
What specific advantages do lever guns have over other mechanisms like semi, bolt, pump, and single shot?
For a civilian in the US is the lever gun still a relevant choice for a main arm? Or am I limiting myself severely for choosing one?
Fun to shoot. Not really any tactical advantage. I hear they are more difficult to shoot in the prone though.
>>34747727
all you have to do is rotate the gun ~75 degrees to either side, its slower prone but faster everywhere else.
>>34747688
>For a civilian in the US is the lever gun still a relevant choice for a main arm?
That depends entirely on what you're doing. I have a Marlin 336 in .30-30 that is still the most handy deer rifle when I go into thick brush or when I know my shots aren't going beyond 50 yards. If I was limited in my options if someone broke it, I'd take it. Unlikely SHTF scenario occurs? I'll take my chances with the AR.

And I really need to get one of those horrible loudener brakes on my 308 vepr.

>implying the MS-18E isn't a huge fucking waste of money
Let's look at the facts shall we
>Lightly armored
>no fucking staying power
>has basically 0 idle time if you need close support
>is ground based instead of space based
>main armament is the ZUX-197 Jagdgewehr 192mm Shotgun
>using a fucking pump action shotgun instead of a rifle
>Max battle load only carries 30 rounds (not including the Beam Saber and 60mm Vulcan
>ZUX-197 carries 9 rounds and 2 can be put on the MS-18E at a time.
>360mm Giant Bazooka II carry 5 rounds each, the MS-18E can carry 2 when at full battle load
>2 Sturm Faust
>the reactor is too small so it has to eject the hard point locks as well as the weapons after use making it way more expensive for repeat sorties than the MS-06
>reactor is also too small to reliably use a beam rifle without risk to the MS-18E running out of juice because it has no staying power or idle time
>despite this the MS-18E carries 2 beam sabers instead of the much more energy efficient heat hawk
Can we agree that the MS-18E program was a complete failure and that the MS-06 will always be much better?

>Warships from the United States, UK, and other allied nations are slated to begin a joint training operation in the North Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday. The ten-day exercise, titled Saxon Warrior 2017, is intended to increase allied interoperability and collective defense capabilities in the region that has seen a sharp increase in Russian naval activities in recent years.
>The United States has sent the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group, as well as other ships from the 6th fleet, to participate in the exercises, which will include a number of scenarios set to span the full spectrum of carrier strike group operations, including strategic strike, air defense operations, combat air support and enforcement of no-fly zones.

So the title pretty much says it all. I am a mechanical engineering student, and I want to start a small arms company after I graduate, with the ultimate goal of selling my company to Ruger, Freedom Group, or another conglomerate.
Anyways, I have an idea for a gun design never marketed or sold before. Suicide Resistant. As you all know, firearms are used by many people per year to kill themselves. From chronically losing burnouts to depressed bullied children. This is why I believe 4chan is my market. So, would you buy suicide resistant versions of your favorite guns?
The proprietary technology includes the use of suicide resistant barrels. The longest human wingspan is 8' 6", and by making the barrels 4' 3"; no one will be able to shoot themselves with the firearms. Of course, one may still shoot themselves with their toe on the trigger, which is why I will also market an 'enhanced suicide resistance' version, with barrels 8' 11"; to account for the tallest person on Earth.
Of course someone can still remotely trigger the weapon, which is why they are only suicide resistant, not suicide proof. Where there is a will there is a way, so obviously I can't say they will prevent all suicides for liability reasons.

Greetings from /lit, il get to the point, writing a street level hero and need suggestions on real world body armor, specifically whats would you wear if you were expexting to get into a fire fight and had plenty of cash for protective gear?
>real world gear only and available to civillans only, and reasoning as to why you picked it is appreciated for authenticity, pic not related its neoprene.
>>34747002
A tank preferably, no matter how armored you are 1 well placed shot and your done, superhero's are dumb and would get killed on their first outing.
You can get pretty much anything from a basic mall cop stab vest to a full on autism plate carrier that would stop rifle rounds (in most states). It depends on what you expect to encounter. And remember, every extra piece of protection is extra weight and less mobility.
Just a plate carrier with NIJ IV plates in it. You can buy that shit online and it'll stop AP rounds up to and including 30.06.
thread about people who don't know anything about guns?
>>34746946
video games have given the false idea that adding a suppressor slows down bullets and reduce "damage" as a trade off for being quieter
i know its pathetic that you know so little about guns

It's still cool to me god dammit!
They should've focused on rifles.
>>34746721
anyone have diagrams of the ammunition? I'd love to know if we at /k/ can resurrect this concept. I mean small rockets lends themselves to guided ammunition. Plus its a really cool concept
Was this thing even legally a pistol? Since the barrel is not rifled and it cannot fire centerfire cartridges?
Why is there so much damn infighting among the gun community? Hardly a thread gets posted that doesn't devolve into pointless name calling within a few posts. This is even so in gun control threads. If there should be ANYTHING we should all agree on, it's the sacrosanctity of the right to bear arms. Instead, we callously throw each other to the wolves, not realizing that we shall soon be next. "I've got my guns, but you don't deserve to have yours," is a disturbingly common attitude. If only we turned on our enemies the way we turn on one another.

Hey guys, looking to buy some ammo
should i go with my usual golden tiger (despite rumors of less quality) or go with some wolf military classic or another variantion of wolf thats cheaper then the golden tiger?
How would the military actually deal with these irl?
realize that there is nothing they can do about an alien race that travel between planets. focus on keeping civil order as riots, protests, and mass panic sweep through the country.
I feel like the movie handled it pretty realistically.
