Seems okay for a used pistol, as long as it came with the holster and RMR for that price. If it didn't, or if you bought it thinking it was new, you got hosed.

We all know that Charter has been in and out of bankruptcy for decades now, and after the fiasco that was Charco and Charter 2000, it has been struggling ever since. It seems that pre-bankruptcy produced firearms (pre-1991) tend to have the best quality, and some claim that the newly made Shelton produced ones are making a comeback. Is there any validity to this claim?

If you own a Charter of any year, feel free to share your experience with it; I'm already well aware that S&W and Ruger currently produce guns with superior fit and finish, but smaller companies like this have always piqued my interest.

And for fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42Liq00CYmw

I have a shelton charter arms uc lite that i carry in +p
It gave me an issue a few years back where the extractor rod loosened up and caught on the frame, not letting me open the cylinder. I just didnt notice it was an issue and was prepared to send it in for repairs (after they talked me through the process of doing so, so good customer support)
Then it saw the issue and nudged it enough to open, tightened the rod and no issue since then. It was and is a budget option for revolvers, and fucking light with its aluminum anodized frame.

I don't get how ranks work in the aviation. I skimmed through Wikipedia, but there are just lengthy lists of names and insignia.

My interest is with all kinds of aviation:
1. Air Force
2. Navy in particular
3. Army air support
4. Muh-reen, National guard, etc.

So is there a think such as a merely enlisted private who pilots a flying vessel?

Or are pilots all officers of some sorts? (e.g. Lieutenant)

If they are all officers, why? Because it requires training to fly a chopper? Do they give orders? Because it seems to me that they only receive orders. E.g.
>do this
>do that
>go there
>that's your mission

It seems to me that they are officers just because training takes a lot and difficulty level justifies a higher paycheck.
But, for all that matters, they are like F1 pilots: they are revered and respected... but it is up to management to tell the mechanics how to fix the car and what their budget is.

My impression is that pilots are just glorified privates or corporals.

P.S.: I swear I am not writing this to trigger people. I want to make sure you get my understanding of how ranks work is very poor. Sometimes I watch movies where everyone is a grunt and yet they all have ranks above private... and this confuses me too. Is rank just a matter of seniority in some cases? I'll leave it there.

Because being an officer means you hold a level of responsibility being that ordering men into combat or being responsible for a multi multi million dollar asset.
>>
>Is rank just a matter of seniority in some cases

Rank is a matter of seniority in all cases.

Enlisted start as privates.

Officers start as 2nd Lt's.

Everyone goes up from there.

The mechanism isn't suited for more powerful rounds, which are desired in a military-style firearm. It can't be shot comfortably while prone.

Gr8 b8.

But for anyonese wondering. No it is not a piece of shit and Russian weapons rarely are. Not trying to be a slavaboo but real Russian weapons- not clones- tend to be pretty hardy. Sks is no different.

The SKS is a fantastic gun for general civvie use, and had it been around in WWII might have given the Garand a run for its money at short range. It's just not as good as the AK-47 for combat use, which is why it got phased out so quickly.

So I went to my great grandfather's house the other day, a place which was built before WWI, and found his bayonet from Second Balkan war/World War 1. Along with his picture, that's just about all I have left from him. I'd like to restore the bayonet, but I don't want to damage it. Anyone know how I can do this?

Break Free CLP and a fine grit abrasive. For deeper rust like on the scabbard or hilt you can try a steel brush, but that's pretty destructive.

Light primer strikes and crappy magazines.

I think it's the closest thing to a modern M1 Carbine with proper pointy bullets, which is neat. The 580 series seems reasonably accurate and reliable so far.

What's the deal with carry handles in rifles? Many standard issue assault rifles have something similiar to pic related (for example FAMAS, g36, sa80, Groza, qbz95...)
I think they look pretty aesthetic but what is the reason for them, because I know they aren't really used for carrying the weapon around

*sigh* here's a list of stuff you can easily put your hands on and are actually useful:
-knives (kitchen, hunting, folding or fighting)
-axes
-metal pipes
-screwdrivers
-hammers
-bats
-chainsaw LOL

And if you're crafty, how 'bout a zip gun?

P.S: Throw that away! It's utterly useless.

Could it be possible to reload primers at all? Like clean out and flatten the dimple out of the spent primer cup and pack it with something that will go off when the primer is struck like normal?

How did they make percussion caps back in the black powder days? Could you reload the brass caps after using them?

This is more for a point of "is it possible to do" rather than any sort of money or resource saving.

Jesus Christ, read the last sentence. He poses an interesting question, but he'll get an answer similar to the, "can you reload .22lr?"

Sure, but it's a lot more effort than its worth.

OP, I have no idea but I imagine not. Mercury fulminate is probably usable as a primer, but my anarchist cookbook background in explosives (super shitty) can't think of something relevant and, well, stable.
>>
>>31027062
I think I've heard of people using a punch to get the dent out of the cup, then putting some other reactive stuff in there.
Lots of effort though for a primer.
