I remember this gun I saw somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me find references to it anywhere.
It was basically an AK receiver with a mag as the only from of a grip.
I think it was mean as some sort of ultra-compact AK with a decently sized barrel, but I can't confirm that at all.

A bolter
>>31026779
Bumping. I really want to see one of those in action.
>>31026793
But it had no grip;
Just a magazine.
What is the point of .40 S&W?
>>31026648
Because I like it? Why else?

To be 10mm, but not as aggressive towards manginas and female FBI agents.
I'm in my final year of Uni and want to join the army after I leave, I have been told that the average wait time these days is generally 1-2 years to get in. I was thinking of joining the reserves in the meantime to get a feel for it.
Does anyone have any advice about picking/joining the reserves that would help? and also any general tips on what to expect in the reserves as opposed to the regulars?
The average wait time isn't that long for the army. I was in basic training two months after my final interview.
>>31026613
That's odd since the careers adviser told me that it would be best to put my application in asap since the wait for my choices would be 1-2 years depending on how well I did at selection. He said that I should apply during my final year, maybe do the reserves then by the time I finish I should be off to training.
Make sure you research your reserve regiment choices like a fucking detective. I'm being serious. I jumped between about 3-4 different places due to them being utterly awful and not offering anything to new guys.
I had an awful experience.
I have some horror stories from my time in the reserves.
Hey /k/
What's the smallest caliber that could easily take out a small black bear?
.22 Short.
Stopping power is a meme, after all.
>>31026202
.357 Magnum, black bears are kind of meek.
Hell, it's rare to even have to shoot one, almost every instance of a human running into a black bear can be ended by just shouting really loudly and the bear will just scamper off, they're very timid and cowardly like that.
.500 S&W would be overkill for a black bear honestly.
>>31026445
Down does .500s&w perform out of that small of a barrel? Seems like most of the powder wouldn't even burn in time.
What does /k/ think about Tactical Rifle/ Handgun training courses for civilians
Are these for the people who don't want to bust ass and knee in the military just so they know how to operate their weapon and are they worth more than $500 dollars a lesson?
Course stories?
How to not be that guy?
Paramilitaries and Militia used to be the mainstay of nation offense and defense for millennia, so why not now?
Other than that what about other basic stuff like survival and IFAK/first aid training. Am i leaving something out?
>>31026142
I am former military and I took the Academi Combo Rifle/Handgun 5 day course.
It was filled with try hard civilians, Veterans who were bored and wanted to wear their gear again, Cops playing cosplay, Cops playing cosplay but actually part of tactical teams, and people who were looking for employment as Security Contractors.
>>31026160
Did it teach you useful skills? I missed my chance to enlist, but I'd still love to learn how to fight.
>>31026142
I've been to a bunch of classes. I use a local school (who have good instructors), and they get guest instructors regularly (patmac, panonne, vickers, ayoob, vogel, langdon, etc)
I love them. I have a great time, and I often do it with 1-4 friends. It's an awesome day or two (longest was 4 days), and I always learn some stuff.
Do they make you better? Yes, but you really need to take what you learn and practice it.
At the end of the day, most shooters are in it as a hobby. It's a fun as hell, you learn a bunch, and shoot a fuck ton.
Also, I'm from a no-guns family. I've had to teach myslef, and contrary what somepeople say, I don't think a magazine, youtube video, or forum can teach you as well as spending 8 structured hours a day on the range with teachers who can spot your problems quickly, and help you overcome them.
anyone else seen this movie? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
Also Finnish warmovies general
I enjoyed Talvisota..only winter war film I've seen so far. Actually quite a good flick, the battle scenes were pretty cool in that time was diluted often (slowed down as the soldier desperatly chambered his rifle as a russian onslaught slowly approached). Kind of like how Sam Peckinpah depicted violence.
I think it adds realism because adrenaline often distorts how time passes.
>>31026093
yeah great film, if there are other movies about winter war specifically, I haven't heard of them (few have scenes taking place during the war, but mostly they focus on Continuation war)
>>31026299
You know if they're making any new ones? I heard ones being made for Simo, is it still happening?
How do I weaponize my pitbull? I want to defend my home without putting my life in danger.
>>31025868
You could be the first nigglet on the continental USA to actually train one

>>31025868
The real question is,
How do you DE-weaponize a murderdog?
oh shit, it is the apocalypse.
you have to pick ten 4channers for your team to go with you innawoods. You may only pick one person per board. you can't choose /k/
what boards do you pick?
i'm not sure i want to spend any time after any SHTF situation with anyone from 4chan
>militairy skills:
/k/ will just result in a fucking orgy. and friendly fire
>outdorsy whatever/ food
i dont know shit about /out/ but i can guess none of them actually goes outside, but rather just shitpost about walking shoes and why tents are gay as fuck
i doubt anyone from /an/ actually knows how to make use of the animal when (or rather, if) /k/ kills it
>mechanical skills
not /o/. its shit. ofc few of them can actually work with cars, but they gonna have to fucking argue about all of it until the end of time. and a lowered honda will not do as a shtf vehicle. fuck off
if you even try to mention /ck/ look at pic. i will not argue further
maybe /diy/? literally never been there. i mean since this is 4chan they most likely never actually do anything, but rather just claim how everyone else is shit
maybe i forgot something, but i dont think so

Some fuckers from /v/ and /vg/.
I'll just shoot them, and the world will be a better place for it.

Maybe functional strength memes will come in handy, but without a gym or the sustenance required to maintain mass, it's only a temporary boon

They immediately commit sudoku and we get a more manageable group out of it
>/g/
In an urban setting, who knows? Maybe some computer knowledge will get us through obstacles. Maybe the world is more like Fallout than I'd anticipated. However they are likely obese or skellingtons with no endurance and will slow down the group. Won't stop ricing every computer we come across

May have wizardly insight on bug out bag inclusions from partymaking in D&D. However most items may never be used for their intended purpose.

Hopefully someone with bio or physics knowledge, never know when that shit will come in handy. Math is ok, but applied math >> pure math in this context.

Dies from exposure, group becomes more manageable.
>/cgl/ or /lgbt/
Sex keeps morale up, but females may harm group dynamics and slow the group down. Sissy men may be a sufficient alternative until they commit sudoku and bring the group down to 7. We still have /fit/ as a fallback
>/diy/
We'll need to build shit sooner or later, though I don't actually know the average competency of those who browse /diy/
>/pol/
Having a member of the group with little to no qualms for pulling the trigger on others when diplomacy fails will be nice. But micromanaging may be necessary to prevent /pol/acks from causing diplomacy to fail. May kill /lgbt/ and /cgl/ for degeneracy

I can only arm four in the group, have minimal survival skills and wear glasses.
I arm myself, /fit/, /diy/, and /pol/. We die within a week
Please settle a agruement with this kid
What would kill a human faster
.22
or
.45
he says the .22 bounces around the body and I no it doesnt...
I say the .45 holopoint would do more damage than a .22
You know you have to be 18 to post here, right?
I call people kid is that a problem?
It's so early.
Mom and dad dropped the kids off at day/k/are so damn early
Hello /k/!
I never posted here, not sure if I'm welcome here but I need advice. My father's uncle passed away and left a revolver and a single-barrel shotgun to his son. He's a nogun so he gave the guns to a friend. Recently, while we were talking, the guns came up and he said he can take the guns back and give them to me, friend didn't want them either. Yesterday, I received the guns.
Revolver seems it's from WW era. Friend of my cousin had put it in chlorine/anti-rust/etc. mixture to take the rust away. I'm not sure if this harmed the weapon. I'm not looking to shoot with this, displaying on shelf would be suffice. Owning a pistol is really hard on my country anyway.
Shotgun has "P. Beretta Gardone V.T" written on it but no image on the internet matches what I have. Anyway, it was in better shape and it seems it is younger than the revolver. Its stock was a bit wobbly, so I decided to take it apart and see what's wrong. I fucked up and broke the shaft that's holding the stock and the tip of it stuck in the screwhole. The actual problem was the woodden parts that sticks to metal parts was broken so I'll probably have to buy a new stock. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a replacement for the shaft or take out the broken part but I'd like to repair the stock, clean it and shoot with it if possible.
I'll be adding the photos. They are shit quality, I know and I'm sorry. If you want better pictures or a specific angle, I can add them.
This is the shaft I took out to take the stock out. The screw-way on the tip is broken and is stuck in the gun.
On a scale of 1-10, how incorrect is this?
>>31025381
fug i mean 0, i though it said correct
Really want a 1903 springfield for my next gun. I want a piece of history that fires readily available ammo that I can take to the range a lot.
What is considered a good price for one? On Gunbroker they range from 375-1500 dollars. What are some things to look out for when buying them? Where's the best place to find a good deal on one? should i look in pawn shops?
>>31025297
$900 for a correct one is fair. Don't buy sporter garbage. Gunbroker, liberty tree, gun boards, and Simpsons are the most reliable places to look online.
>>31026038
>900
Damn....guess I got into this hobby too late for cheap surplus :(
>>31026664
Just like you were late to invest in google, facebook, the louisiana purchase. Deal with it.
If you want a decent shooter, you can save money by buying one with rough wood and decent barrel and switch it for a cmp stock. If not, you're going to be shelling out
So I need to know I am from Greece and everyone saying about turkey that will invade someday at next 10 year's and I was wondering can mirage 2000-5 outstand Turkey's air equipment (I don't believe so much at f-16 capabilities and f-4) how many mirage have to take one f-16 or the otherwise

Why are Garands so expensive?
Are they just that rare, or are they actually $1000+ quality rifles?
They're MUH 'MURICA: THE RIFLE, so people have bought them all up and now sell them on at a high price if they sell them at all.
