/k/, I need your advice.
I live in Cuck Jersey and I need a separate permit for every pistol I want to buy. I can only get 3 permits at a time and just recently got them.
My first purchase was pic related for space cowboy reasons. Now I have two permits left over and I'm contemplating multiple options.
Consider the following:
>Buy 92FS and a 1911
>Buy one of previous and a compact/sub-comp
>Buy one of them and a .22lr pistol
>Or get compact and .22lr
Understand that getting more permits is a pain in the fucking ass process. And I'd like to have a 92FS and a 1911 but would also like a .22lr or compact.
Concealed carry is illegal in NJ, but I'm considering doing it anyway - at least keeping it in my briefcase.
Considering all of that, what would any of you do? What do you think is more important to purchase first? Would you or do you cc in a cuck state?
>inb4 move to a free state
Also, revolvers interest me too. Pls help.
>>31854460
>My first purchase was pic related for space cowboy reasons
you fucked up pretty good in getting the totally wrong model
>>31854481
I really didn't give a shit about having the steel frame model as it's over $100 more. Thought it would be cool to get anyway, seemed like a pretty reliable gun and I like how it shoots.
Any vets got issued/carried/used anything besides m16/m4? Subguns, shotguns, various dmr rifles, SCAR, stand alone grenade launchers, etc.
If they were getting issued something then they wouldn't be vets
>>31854395
1 shotgun for the squad, we kept it in the humvee mostly. It was for breaching. We had AT4's, which is similar to grenade launchers, but it's an anti-tank weapon. No to everything else, and a bunch of stuff you didn't mention.
>>31854395
I was a 240 gunner and got issued a shotgun to keep in my humvees gun turret for nonlethal shit.
I guess the Abrams is BTFO now.
Pic is the steel armor penetration of a Chinese 120mm HEAT round, as shown during the chinese arms show.
1800mm of RHA penetration.
Even optimistic figures put the turret front thickness against CE at 1620mm.
And this is just a man-portable 120mm recoilless rocket round. Something that is for squad use these days in the PLA
Compared to that, the HJ-12's 1100mm penetration figure is far too conservative.
it has a 152mm warhead for fucks sake.
>>31853697
With the HJ-12 hitting the top of an Abrams, the supervelocity molten jet would probably exit from the bottom of the tank, before skewering crewmembers alive.
>>31853665
and hitlery wants to start a war with them
Oh no!

Hey /k/
My friends and I wanted to do a stalker cosplay for Halloween, but no one else had any milsurp so I said I'd bring everything I have and even if it's not all accurate to game, we'll kinda match. Well I just fineshed loading the car, and I really didn't realize how much of this shit I'd hoarded up till now. I think I may have a problem

Hey k I'm training to be a machinist with the hope of becoming a gunsmith/FFL and starting a firearms company. I'm saving up for a mill and lathe and wondering if Grizzy tools is good? Pic related would fit my needs very well. Could I get away with something cheaper though if I would be primarily working with aluminum and softer steel?
>>31853512
>>>/diy/
Not being a douche, they just know a hell of a lot more about metalwork, tools, technique than /k/
Honestly a good cnc mill is maybe $28k (at least the ones I use at my University) and work (slowly) with most harder steel
If you're doing any kind of repeat production of parts, CNC will save you your sanity
>>31853512
You'll make more money as a machinist than y ou ever would as a gunsmith. IT'S hard to make a livable wage as a gunsmith alone.
>>31853512
It's a bit impractical, but I'd rather go looking for an older Alliant or Bridgeport mill and a South Bend lathe.
That's just my personal preference. But it's better to spend more now than it is to need something heavier duty set up down the road
Other thing, try not to buy Chinese machines (Grizzly).
Is there any ship in any western Navy that could absorb a hit from a Granit?
Your mom.
>>31853506
The Granit isn't actually that powerful. Yeah, they're big, but they use most of their mass for propulsion. The actual warhead isn't really that big. An Arleigh Burke destroyer would probably be able to survive a hit, at least long enough for the crew to abandon ship.
>>31853564
>survive long enough for crew to abandon
So it would sink? So it wouldn't survive?
Stupid question, how was this gun succesful in WW1?
>easily jammable, ammunition gets dirty easily, dust/dirt can get into the chamber while firing and reloading
>used in trenches where dirt, dust and mud was flying everywhere
https://youtu.be/z_IeAaR5AmU
>>31853340
the jamming myth comes from US joes who brought the guns back home and started using US made 9mm ammo, US loaded ammo was manufactured to fire at a lower pressure than the german made ammo and thus did not properly cycle the action. There were 2 reasons the US ammunition makers did this 1: They did not believe that it was possible to load it to german specs based on the powders in use by the US at that time and 2: the 9mm Glisenti pistol which was also a popular bring back pistol fires an identically dimensioned 9mm but could not handle high pressure german ammo and would kb if anything higher was used. personally I think the second reason was probably the more important decision making factor for US producers.
>>31853340
>>31853352
Because they were good semi-auto pistols for the time. Also, if it was loaded with German-made 9mm Luger ammunition, a Luger would usually function fine even after crawling 100m through the mud.
Like my case? What stickers should I add to it? How do you hide your guns from normies?
more stickers

Kill yourself
Like right now
>>31853100
So you look like an idiot carrying a guitar into a gun range.
>guy buys a nice gun for defense
>realize that whenever he uses it, it will be taken away by the authorities anyway
This is why you should buy some inexpensive, generic, not special snowflake shit for self/home defense like a Maverick 88 or a M&P Shield 9mm. Your sexy $2,000 AR is going to get locked up and you won't see it for months, if you ever see it again, that is.
My thought: Use inexpensive but reliable generic shit for self/home defense, and stow away the nice stuff for SHTF scenarios.
>>31853057
How much money is your life worth? Sure, if you want to use a Mav 88 for HD that's fine, but if someone else is more effective and comfortable with a kitted up $1500 AR, who gives a shit? I'd gladly give the cops my AR if it saved my fuckin life. I can buy another one, I'm not a fucking poorfag.
>>31853057
>realize that whenever he uses it, it will be taken away by the authorities anyway
Unless you're convicted of something, you get it back. Stop spouting this shit.
this is just bait to get people to post their snowflake guns, isn't OP?
i bought an old compound bow from the 70's and it has a teardrop style bow string.
how likely is it that this thing will snap and take my eye out or something
also what does /k/ think of bows for a happening? is it even remotely practical?
>>31853042
Chances are low it'll pop, just don't use arrows less that 5 grains per pound of draw and you'll be fine.
Bows are shit for happening, and I have more money in bows than 99% of /k/ has in guns.
>>31853079
teach me sensi. show your bows
>>31853108
Teach you what exactly?
