Archived threads in /k/ - Weapons - 2916. page

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

Let's get a /sci/k/ thread. Military experiments, experimental devices, and government/military backed science so strange it should be in a Red Alert game.

I'll start with Die Glocke.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Glocke

Taken directly from the wiki- "Witkowski describes Die Glocke, when activated, as having an effect zone extending out 150 to 200 metres (490 to 660 ft). Within the zone, crystals would form in animal tissue, blood would gel & separate while plants would decompose into a grease like substance.[6] Witkowski also said that five of the seven original scientists working on the project died in the course of the tests.[7]"

Related because of similarities in shape and size is the "Kecksburg UFO". The very name "Kecksburg" makes you wonder if time travelling /b/tards are responsible.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kecksburg_UFO_incident

Interesting excerpt from this wiki- "A large, brilliant fireball was seen by thousands in at least six U.S. states and Ontario, Canada. It streaked over the Detroit, Michigan – Windsor, Canada area, reportedly dropped hot metal debris over Michigan and northern Ohio,[1] starting some grass fires,[2] and caused sonic booms in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.[3]"

A lot of UFO stories involve seeing symbol writing that look like hieroglyphs.

I have a very entertaining explanation- welding symbols.

Unit 731 is noteworthy of course.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

Taken from the wiki- "Thousands of men, women and children interred at prisoner of war camps were subjected to vivisection, often without anesthesia and usually ending with the death of the victim.[14] Vivisections were performed on prisoners after infecting them with various diseases. Researchers performed invasive surgery on prisoners, removing organs to study the effects of disease on the human body. These were conducted while the patients were alive because it was feared that the decomposition process would affect the results.[15] The infected and vivisected prisoners included men, women, children, and infants.[16]"

It's also worth mentioning that like with Operation Paperclip, Japanese researchers caught by America were offered some form of amnesty in return for their cooperation with American research and the information they collected from their own nations projects.
>>
There's another story to the picture, this one saying the infant was the doctors.

Taken from the wiki on Unit 731- "Female prisoners were forced to become pregnant for use in experiments. The hypothetical possibility of vertical transmission (from mother to fetus or child) of diseases, particularly syphilis, was the stated reason for the torture. Fetal survival and damage to mother's reproductive organs were objects of interest. Though "a large number of babies were born in captivity", there has been no account of any survivors of Unit 731, children included. It is suspected that the children of female prisoners were killed or the pregnancies terminated.[25]"

>Britbong is afraid of a gun
>yet claims to be some sort of kung-fu commando that can disarm a man and competently fire the weapon she is supposedly afraid of

I can't be angry at this when I'm absolutely baffled by it.

Questions that don't deserve their own thread, because I didn't see one in the catalog.

I'll start: what's a decent price for an Enfield right now?

Fuck off, I've got a grand sitting around and I want an Enfield. I just don't wanna spend every cent like a fucking mongoloid
>>
I got a couple of gen 4 glocks and have been shooting them for 2 years but I want to lighten the trigger pull as I feel it is a bit heavy and affects grouping. Is the 4.5lb connector the fastest and easiest way to achieve this? Any other options I should consider as well??

Is there any law against an FFL to sell a gun or accessory to someone from a different state where that gun or accessory is banned? Could a guy in Nevada sell a 30-round mag to a Calicuck?

Accessories, no. Guns, yes.

Your example? Yes he can. Even if you are enough of an idiot to tell him where you are from.
>>
>>31810720
No. Not legally. He can't even posses a 30 round mag starting Jan 1st it's a felony. I lost mine in a tragic... Accident...
>>
>>31810786
But as a Nevada resident can you get in trouble for giving it to him?

Is there a pistol that is styled after the Luger P08 / Walther P38 that ISN'T a 22LR?

I love the style of the 22s like the Ruger Mk 3, Browning Buck Mark, but it seems that 9mm or .45 don't exist in this style. Why is that? It seems so strange that guns that are designed after a 9mm Luger would all be 22s...

The ruger is styled after a nambu, just so you know.
>>
>>31810321
They all look pretty similar to me.

I know the 92fs/M9 is styled after the Walther as well, and I like them too but I think these 22s look more Walther-like than the 92fs/M9 do.

The 92FS is pretty much a development of the P38. They basically just extended the slide for a conventional recoil spring, widened the grip for double-stack mags, and eventually added a button mag release. Internally, the P38 and 92 are extremely similar.

As for OP, the whole exposed barrel thing pretty much died out in centerfire pistols after WWII, though it was originally a Germanic sort of trend. The only other pistols you'll find that have it are other pre-war designs like the Lahti.

How do you feel about mixing camo patterns, /k/? Does it look okay or shitty? What are some good combos? If I'm not being clear I mean likr wearing a flectarn jacket with MARPAT pants, or a woodland jacket with Alpenflage pants or hat.

Are PSA still trying to figure out what's wrong with their 9MM uppers?

Kind of rustles my jimmies that they were selling AR-9 lowers that are designed for PSA uppers that currently don't exist.

Why 9mm rifle?
Why not thompson?
Why don't they make .50ae rifle more common?
Where am I, what's going on?
Who are you, this isn't aol!
>>
>>31811142
Not thompson because it was a good 45 SMG back in WW2. But nowadays you can get much better ones. Also he's buying an upper, hence he can decide to swap to non-pistol ammo if he has the money to.
50 AE wouldn't be a good rifle or SMG cartridge. Too difficult to handle on an SMG and too unpredictable on a rifle. 500 S&W might work better (some /k/ommando actually turned his mosin into a 500 S&W gun)
You are on 4chan. We're talking about 9mm uppers.

Hey /k/

I'm about to buy my first 3gun carbine:

BCM RECCE-18 KMR-A Precision

or

DDM4 V11 PRO

DD is more expensive by about 300 bucks but has this nice trigger by Geissele and Cold Hammer Forged barrel

which should i pick?

the V11 or even better, a V7
>>
>>31809678
Why choose mlok over keymod?
>>
Which Geissele trigger? You'd spend $2-300 on a SSA/-E, and if you want to shoot at distance, a sub-4lbs trigger helps.

The F-20 lost out to the F-15 because it didn't have enough bells and whistles.
>>
>>31809750
The F-20 never competed against the F-15. In point of fact, it could launch Sparrows, something the F-16 was unable to do at that point in time.

I'm going to be getting about $2,000 dollars soon, and have been wanting to use that money on guns.

Right now all I own is a semi auto 20 gauge, Persian Mauser, Mosin Nagant and little .22, so I've been looking to up my arsenal.

Mostly wanting to get a pistol and an AR but a 12 gauge would be nice to have.

Do you really need a tiny gun for conceal carry, or could you get away with a normal compact like a CZ P07?

Do I really need a new swaggin AR-15 to be cool? Because I've kind of wanted to just build an M16A1 clone. Would that be a stupid idea?

Should I get a black powder revolver?
8 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
You can build a solid Palmetto State Armory AR for ~650, plus figure 150-300 for a vortex optic. Be prepared to wait a while for PSA though, they're backordered like crazy, worth looking at Aero Precision too. There are M16A1 builders on here who can answer you better, but from what I've seen a casual clone will run you at least a grand.

A Mossberg 590A1 can be had for around $500, and be all the shotgun you need.

You can get away with a compact, but you'll eventually want something like a Glock 43 or M&P shield (get the glock)

Most underrated is Chinese Jian. Nobody ever mentions it.

Katana have passed there overrated reputation. Nearly everyone these days knows it's just another sword... Besides maybe weebs.
