Howdy /k/, I could use some advice/tips. Today, I went to unscrew the magazine tube from a used Mossman 500 I'd bought months ago from Cabelas. Several turns past the front of the receiver, the magazine was weakened and snapped off during removal, leaving some of the mag tube stuck fast in the receiver. Any ideas on removing the remaining tube?

An Apache has the mission to destroy a T90.

The Apache, upon spotting its enemy at a distance of 400 meters, fires a burst of 3 30mm rounds. Before they reach the target, the machine gun on the turret of the tank fires a burst of fifty cal bullets.

What follows is that one of the fifty call bullets hits the Apache, making a huge hole on one of the Apache's blade! Meanwhile, the three 30mm rounds went right through the cannon of the T90, as if entering inside it!

What would happen to the tank and the helicopter?

Hello, yes this is a DP-12 thread.
Can't handle that? Better just shitpost and leave now.

I am seriously considering buying the DP-12. The price is not an issue, though I'd always prefer to spend less, but my worry is that this gun is simply pointless.

>is it too heavy?

>can it be used for birdhunting

>what chokes can be used if any

>how heavy does it get when fully loaded with some heavy rounds?

I am seriously considering this purchase because it fill some hard to fill checks on a unique situation I have. You see, I have to use blackpower, that's BP, much of the time when I shoot shotguns. It's a weird rule where I like to shoot.
At first I found the rule fun, and I learned alot about reloading and BP because of it. But I've shot here so much I really DON'T want to shoot anywhere else. It's my little paradise.

So I plan to use BP shells alot in this DP-12. Might as well call it a BP-12. I think it will be good because as a pump action, it will not foul up and be unusable quickly from the BP. And it is essentially 2 semiauto shots every pump.

Also, home defense. I plan to use normal rounds for that, but I only want to buy one new shotgun and the DP-12 could be a good rapidfire, highcapacity homedefense shotgun AS WELL as a BP shell thrower.

Other guns I was considering are
>the Vepr 12

>a Black Aces Tactical
(I nixed them off my list because they cannot shoot 3" shells, apparently)

And that's it.

>tl;dr
I am probably buying this here DP-12 because I want a home defense gun, but also want to shoot BP through it when I'm at a restricted shooting location.

Im no kommando but this pic struck my attention because I have heard that youre not supposed to shoot with 1 eye closed. That apparently training overrides this. So this mean putin wasnt trained?

If you can shoot both eyes open with a rifle, sure, do it. If not, closing one eye is acceptable. Not everyone can shoot with both eyes open with a rifle due to eye dominance issues that are sometimes difficult to retrain.

Pistols it is recommended one uses both eyes.

Dear /k/

After reviewing some of the bullshit people go through following a deadly force self defense situation and the attacker staying alive (legal fees, possible civil suit etc) I have decided that if I am to carry and I get attacked, the attacker has to die. Now mind you, I am not that familiar with firearms yet; but I think that if I were to carry a .357 automatic and get the same amount of shots off as somebody carrying say a .45 or 9mm, I certainly would have the upper hand in terms of inflicting more damage resulting in death.

I have shot my model 642 for quit a while now so I am familiar with the recoil; but I was wondering what would you advise as a good .357 automatic carrying option? I have seen some options like the Coonan .357 and it seems pretty good.

Thoughts?

So I have this pic related. Awesome gun, except for this shitty undersized slide release that drives me up the fucking wall - it's way too small, and too close to the decocker which can be engaged instead (done that more than a few times), and I don't think I'd be able to reliably drop the slide if I'm being shot at and freaking out, have to pull the slide instead.

I see more and more pistols like this, so it's a trend. What was the point of making it smaller anyway? Force people pull the slide to put the gun in battery (gross motor skill) instead of using the slide release (fine motor skill)?

Hey guys, I just got this today. This is my very first firearm. I've shot a single bullet out of a .22 rifle in my entire life.

The only thing I really know about this so far is how to load it, unload it, the safety, and how to check if the gun is chambered or not by taking out the clip and pulling back the charging handle to look inside to see if there's a bullet in there or not. Thats all I really know.

What the fuck should I learn first? What should I do with this for the next 3 days? I don't work so I have all day.

Please help /k/ommandos, you're my only hope.

UK anon here. A couple air rifles and that's it. Tried getting my license but gave up because it's just too much hassle. Nearest range is over an hour away and charges ridiculous money just to use it. I just want a .22LR or .17HMR for bagging bunnies over 30 yards like I'm limited with an air rifle.

Was talking to one of the guys at my local range, he said he applied for his license over a year ago and still hasn't heard back. I was going to apply for mine as I live around a lot of good open land that's rated up to .308, local game keeper said I could hunt on it, then changed his mind right after I paid £350 for range membership and BASC membership to help with my application. So yeah I know your pain. I just want a fucking gun man.

Objectively excellent.

Lightweight, light recoiling, compared to the Pre-A1 it had no problems, and with the ammo used at the time, M193 ball, it was an absolutely excellent performer.

The only thing which would make it better would be the upper receiver from an A2 rifle, providing better sights and a more generous brass-deflector.

>>32424608

ProTip: M16s, M4s and all variants used by the US Armed Forces are all still made from machined aluminum receivers like they always have.

IS THAT A FAMAS.jpg
17KB, 401x158px
No it's not, but the french are considering replacing the Famas with this. (And other designs. All short barreled 5.56 carbines.)
Are the French right to replace the Famas? What's with the trend of short barreled 5.56s. Standard 5.56 rounds won't fragment if they're slower than 750 metres per second, and they reach that point at about 200 metres. Average engagement range is 300 or less.
If 5.56 is questionable already, then are the French right to use even shorter barreled carbines?
51 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>Are the French right to replace the Famas?
Definitely, that thing is old as fuck and every attempt to modernize it has been marred by poor distribution (generally due to lack of funds) or just being shit (like the latest one with the wiimote for a foregrip that links into a smart optic that was issued to a grand total of nobody.). They haven't even produce replacement parts in over a decade.
Whether the 416 is a sound choice is another question entirely.
>Standard 5.56 rounds won't fragment if they're slower than 750 meters per second, and they reach that point at about 200 metres.
Pretty sure this was only the case for SBRs in the cold war, different loads and barrel twists have improved them in the last 20 odd years.
>>
>>32424187
I guess I can see how different rifling could help it fragment better. It won't fragment unless it yaws, and it has an 80% chance of doing so before 200 metres, where it plummets to "don't count on it."
Am I correct in saying the rifling twist is slower than before? Because that may hinder accuracy a little, but it would be good for the yaw and fragment probability.
>>
>>32424157
>Are the French right to replace the Famas?
Yes, it's fucking atrocious by modern standards, it can't even shoot normal 5.56x45mm ammo without chewing the shit out of the brass, causing extraction and ejection problems, not to talk about the bores being 1:12 twist.

They simply don't have the logistics to use it anymore, they HAVE to replace it now.
