Maximum tacticool
Carbon fiber... 28 Caliber, made in China. If you want to talk fictional guns /k/ I suggest you watch American movies.
>>32414417
God I remember watching that as a kid and thinking that was so wrong. Seems like writers from the 80s to late 2000s never did any research on guns.
I think it's getting a little better now.
>>32414417
No it's realistic because he's a politician, and therefore cannot know anything about guns.

I'm looking for ideas for a back plate for my Glock, but nothing talks to me, nothing has stood out as the missing part to my fun

That's all it takes for a burgler to lock pick your door with his tiny hands and feet to take your funs away.
Why haven't you barricaded your doors with deadly boobytraps?
>>32414141

What the fuck OP
>>32414141
Nice numbers
If I booby trap the door, then I won't be able to bayonet charge my melanin enriched foe

Federal laws about the potential endangerment of police in the line of duty that bring felony charges. Do you like being in federal prison, OP?
Things your guns say after a day at the range.

Dunno. I generally leave them hot and dirty in their cases to wallow in their own filth until the next time I want to use them.

ill go first: yesterday I got hit in the face by a Ar barrel when my friend lost his balance trying to put on a scope. I have the chipped tooth to prove it.
>>32413748
I've gotten some decently sized blisters on my fingers while cleaning my guns. Putting stubborn recoil springs back in can be suffering.
some dipshit in my platoon ND'd his mk48 into the ground and sent rocks hurling into my face. Just missed my eye by like a centimeter. We just came back from patrol so I took off my eye pro like 5 seconds before.
>>32413748
>I have the chipped tooth to prove it.
Truly, the /k/ube hath blessed thee.
Me, I sliced my finger open on the loading ramp of an ancient Remington shotgun. It had been worn so thin it was sharp as a knife.
I am considering putting a Streamlight TLR-1 or a Streamlight TLR-1 HL on my Walther PPQ M2 9mm. This is my edc, does the added weight of a weapon mounted light outweigh the potential use of the light? Would carrying a light in my pocket to be used in with my edc be a better option. How many of you have a light on your edc? Weapons mounted lights in general.
>>32413645
You should be carrying an edc light regardless of if you carry a light on your gun or not.
If you're concerned about the bulk of carrying a light, look into the XC1. JM Custom Kydex makes XC1 holsters for pretty much any handgun and they're top notch quality.

Ugh, really?
>>32413696
Yes, really. I think its a good idea.
Why don't they make hybrid jet/propeller fighter jets?
Why don't they make them so that as the airspeed slows, the propeller deploys takes over from the jet engine and retracts when it speeds up? WW1/2 planes turn tighter than modern fighters don't they?
thrust vectoring rules the skies
Because that's ridiculously complicated
>>32413583
what's the biggest obstacle
What does /k/ think of World of Guns? Bought the lifetime access but I don't know much about guns since they're pretty expensive and hard to obtain here. Is it a faithful experience, or just preying on people who don't know better?
>>32413493
p legit senpai
>>32413493
I also have lifetime access. Even cross-referenced the guns in the game with the guns I own (lcp, 1911, mossberg 500, mosin) and from what I can tell they are spot on.
Hahaha what? I had never heard of this thing and looked it up. Seriously?
Most of the guns I need to take apart I can usually figure it out. "Complicated military guns" are designed to be taken apart by 18 year old boots. They're not generally hard to disassemble and most of the information for what you need is freely available on YouTube. Or if you've got a really unique piece
Okay, I get it OP you're fairly new. So I'll give the benefit of the doubt since I have no idea what the game itself is like.
It mentions tiny details like down to the screw, but most people do not need that. Gunsmiths might need that, but you can sure as hell bet they're either going to look for an official source of information about the gun, not rely on some steam "game"
I have no idea what it costs since it's preying on the "free to play" shit, but maybe it's decent for teaching some of the mechanics of guns. But then again, most of it is truly free and out there on YouTube.
I do not think it serves much of a purpose. However, if you get however many dollars out of it you paid then that's fine. Granted, they're going for a really weird market. Most people with guns just want to learn their own guns and they have said guns to play with them. Noguns don't give a fuck about disassembly most of the time because they have no interest in guns. If they did have an interest in guns, they'd own one. Maybe it's for people who want to play with guns and are in unfree countries, since that sounds like where you are?
Whats the best cartridge for home defense when wall penetration is a concern?
Personally I would shoot the guy and worry about the wall later.
If you're so worried, then just practice more and don't miss.
>>32413487
I would say wax slug.
>>32413492
okay apparently you missed the question so try again
If you could use fully automatic weapons would people use them for home defense or concealed carry/car guns in the case of machine pistols?
I know that there are jurisdictions where you can legally use them and everything but i'm just trying to generalize. AFAIK and correct me if i'm wrong, the military uses them mostly for suppressive fire or for PDW's. Suppressive fire doesn't seem to have much civilian application but PDW's seem like they could I guess.
>>32412790
If the NFA and GCA and all that shit didn't exist, sure I'd use select fire weapons for self defense. Probably not on full auto, but still.
>>32412790
>Suppressive fire doesn't seem to have much civilian application but PDW's seem like they could I guess.
Nope. Spraying bullets is bad. Why? Becasue you're responsible for every bullet you spray.
If I could use fully automatic weapons for self defense, I wouldn't.
/k/'s thoughts on this for CCW?

That gun is stupid.

Your thread sucks.
I hate it.
Still fairly new to firearms. Getting quite comfortable with semi-autos, but I want to venture out. Is there a /k/ consensus on a good lever action rifle? Or can anyone enlighten me on some facts about them that I may not know yet?
Or, just Cowboy guns thread.
>>32411704
what caliber?
.357 mag, .44 mag, .45 colt, .44-40, .30-30, .45-70?
>>32412099
This is what I don't know yet. I'm thinking it would be best to get a caliber I could also use in a revolver, just to be efficient. I really just want it for fun.
All are good.
.45-70 simple to reload because it's a big case 15gn of trail boss under 405 cast flat nose is tits.
.357 revolver rifle combo is great.
.30-30 was available even during the darkest days of the Obama ammo shortages.
.45-70 or go home.
Are self-propelled anti-aircraft guns still relevant? Could say the Tunguska bring down a united states jet? If not then what is used to bring down aircraft?
>Are self-propelled anti-aircraft guns still relevant?
Yes, they are a (relatively) cheap mobile way to deter aircraft
>Could say the Tunguska bring down a united states jet?
If it were stupid enough to go for a leisurely strafing run, sure.
Also it has SAMs too, so there's that.
>If not then what is used to bring down aircraft?
The missiles.
You must understand that the purpose of SPAAGs was never to sweep the skies clear of enemy aircraft, but rather to keep them from being able to operate freely, like the US has been doing on the sandpeople.
an SPAAG is a deadly threat to helicopters of all sorts. Attack helicopters could wreak merry hell on armored forces otherwise. Similarly, attack aircraft like the A-10 will be forced to operate at much higher altitude, limiting it to lobbing a couple of air to ground missiles or glide bombs or whatever from a safe standoff distance. While the US has so many fucking aircraft that it can still pound the shit out of anyone's military while working like that, nobody else can. And the pounding that the various air forces of the US can dish out while playing things safe is a tiny fraction of what they could do if they were given the all clear to go nuts with no fear of retaliatory fire.
it's like saying landmines are shit because you can just walk around them. But if you're walking around them, the land mine is doing it's job. It's not there to blow up stupid people, it's there to get reasonable people to either take the long way around, or spend the time it takes to clear their way through. The effectiveness of a given weapon's system isn't just measured by it's K/D ratio.
They are good against anything rotary, but to take down a jet, either SAM or another jet can take it down
>>32411993
>>32411990
They aren't a good option to fight attack helicopters that can use ground cover to engage them with guided missiles without exposing themselves to return fire.
Hey /k/, took my mom shooting as her Christmas present. It was also my first time shooting and I landed my first shot on target and followed it up with the rest as shown in pic related.
The RO said it was really impressive for a first-time shooter. Target was at 5 yards. I did it with a springfield XDM. RO also didn't believe it was my first time shooting. Is it actually a good group? Did all those years playing ww2 vidya finally paid off irl?
P.S. Mom loved it, wants to take Dad. Hopefully I can use this to finally buy a surplus raifu once I get back from uni next june.
Yeah that's pretty good for a first timer.
>>32410573
>first timer
That's really very excellent.
>>32410573
That's awesome.
You DID keep the target so you could plaster it on the front of the fridge, didn't you? Or better yet, the side of your cubicle so you can freak out all your libturd coworkers.
