What does /k/ think of this? Real life documentary following US troops in Helmand. Starts off slow then hits you in the feels as like 6 guys get killed in one firefight.
>>32567738
Sucks
Focuses too much on the damn journalists
Restrepo/Korengal are better
I stopped watching after a few minutes because the father/son journalists tried to make it too much about themselves.
>>32567738
I was in Helmand. So no thanks. For me it would be "reality TV".
What does /k/ think of vehicle-mounted recoil-less rifles and their use? Pic related is my dad on something called Ontos, pretty sure it's declassified by now.
ah, the ontos. 4 106mm rifles right? looks bad arse, but i dont know how it performed.
>>32567638
It's six apparently, you have to look closer
>>32567638
six 106mm recoiless
from what I read they were highly appreciated in hue during tet when the small size could be used well in an urban area

Help me identify and maybe price?
Guy told me the pistol is 115 years old.
The rifle he said is an english rifle.
>>32567465
Looks like a Khyber Pass copy of an old English percussion pistol. Pic related- an original. For value I'd say next to none.
I don't know for sure, but it doesn't look european.
Is it functional?
Which does /k/ prefer?
Which group would you belong to if you had the chance?
SAD SOG
MARFORCE
Air Force POG
ask away, I'll do my best to finagle your crazy ideas into practical war theories.
>I'll start
I theorize that an automatic shotgun with heat rounds could create an opening in a cinder-block wall built with 4 rebar per verticle and cement filling. The opening must be large enough for one person to enter per 5 seconds, or at the very least a flash-bang grenade to be thrown through.
Thoughts?
>>32567220
I think that would be far less effective than just planting a charge...
>>32567235
portability is a must. If a bunker is made of cinder-blocks then to place charges on each successive wall(the doors are boobytrapped) would be irrational and slow. Less effective but more practical...I hope.
>>32567277
I suggest you research weaponizing your autism. I think that'll be more effective than shotguns or charges.
Whos the ultra /k/ommando

That helmet is sweet.

Why tho
Was someone trying to Resurrect Samuel Adams?
Why was it seized?
Got drunk last night and to switch SKS stocks. Apparently I did not do so well because I woke up to parts strewn across the room, tools in my bed, and pic related.
>It's stuck in there.
Tell me everything is going to be alright /k/.
Bumping with another picture,
Tapco stock where it belongs, I guess
I took the stock off and bashed it out with a crescent wrench.
>All's well that ends well, I suppose
How come German or Germanic people love making guns so much?
>>32566802
Because they cant use them, might as well be the best at making them.
btw people, do you ever just want to kill a random dush you saw of the street behaving like a piece of shit?, like follow him, learn where he goes and at what hour, and one day just kill him, no witnesses, no motive, just a random piece of shit dead, no real links to you.
I am having this problem, the killer urges
>inb4
edgy
>>32566802
They don't though. "Overengineering" doesn't mean better engineering, it means no user input, therefore shit ergos.
Germany has a solid industrial base with lots of educated blue collars. That is what produces good machinery, and guns are just fancy pipe systems.
As someone who's currently applying for the marines, what ways can I prepare? I can currently do the pushups/situps/pullups
Running leaves a bit to be desired
With 6 months or so left to prepare?
Anyone got any advice? Tips? Stories?

itll be ok op
My next gun purchase. Haven't been excited for a new gun in a long time, but this one I can't wait to get my hands on.
>>32565955
I really hope this gun sells so they can expand their DA line and possibly ressurect the Python. That'd be a fucking dream come true.
>>32565955
>outdated as soon as it gets released
That's impressive
>>32566356
Colt will go out of business before that happens.
Why is everybody building those whiskers on the rims of their carriers?
>>32565790
its like you would like to miss the opportunity to catch 3m halibut while enjoying some wargames
>>32565790
aren't those the things they use to raise and lower small craft ?
>>32565790
I'm guessing they're some kind of sensors.
Since ARG is unhelpful, I figured I'd just make a thread.
> Have AR lower, and a bit of extra cash.
>Only know AK's, so not sure how to tell if part is good or shit.
>Want to assemble a reliable beater rifle.
Is there any wiki for this, or go, no go for parts, like stay the fuck away from IO and Cent US builds with AK's?
Help a slav out.
>>32565763
Generally stay away from polymer lowers that don't have the stock as part of it and PTAC isn't the highest quality in the business and should generally be avoided because better options aren't that much more expensive.
>>32565763
So long as the upper has M4 feed ramps, and the buffer tube is mil-spec, you'll pretty much be fine. If your only goal is that the rifle be functional, that's easy these days.
Pic related; palmetto state armory kit with everything except lower for $360.
>>32565805
>>32565763
This is good advice op, look for a decent barrel also. brands I use for cheap but efficant beater rifles are palmetto state armory, BCM, RRA, Runner Runner Guns. I like primary arms for ok deals also and cheap decent glass.
Let's get a boot thread going. GQ General is cool but boots is cool too. Current merrell wearer looking for something new. Their quality has decline a lot and noticeably. Anyone using anything different or cool?
>inb4 sandals
Op here, dick in mouth. Been looking at Vasque Juxt. Anyone got any good news
Red Wing Beckman's. Have two pairs, one dark one light and alternate.
Real bitch to break them in, over a month and they're starting to get real comfortable. Hope they last. Started taking them on ~5 mile hikes innawoods and while a bit heavy at first they do well.
>>32565664
I highly highly recommend salomon speedcross 4s if you want actual operator footwear or some good trail shoes. They're comfy as fuck and grip well on every surface. My merrel moabs are good but I notice not very fun to wear on concrete for extended periods
Please school me about the effectiveness of the ss /k/, why was an ss division worth 10 Russian divisions? What was the best ss division?
[WEHRMATCH INTENSIFIES]
>>32565294
SS divisions varied wildly in quality with many being more politically useful than militarily useful. Having a separate armed force duplicating everything up to and including a command structure is a logistical nightmare and was silly for a nation that already had problems in that area (doubly so when you consider some SS divisions took priority for better equipment despite being less competent in using it).
