How does /k/ feel about SBR conversions for handguns? Any experience with the RONI or the KPOS systems? I plan on getting a KPOS for my Glawk 19 since its the closest thing i can get to in terms of semi auto long guns in commie europe

Sending my application to the Royal Canadian Air Force this week. (Political Science graduate, working full time doing research, hoping to make it direct entry officer for Public Affairs or, more hopefully, Intelligence branch.)
But before I do, I want to know what basic training is like. What sort of training is there? Namely, do you handle different kinds of weapons during it?
On a similar note, I want to know some tips for Canadian basic training before I leave for it sometime next year -- anything and everything you know, for those who've been through it. And what is it like being in the Canadian military in general? Any tips for how to actually make it into the Intelligence Branch?
I have no idea about any of this, but I'm very certain about myself and joining.

but that's every country. in literally any country if you're connected, and affluent, you can obtain paperwork that allow you legally bear arms in your country. In all countries with functioning governments, including America, it's simply a sliding scale of how easy it is to provide that paperwork.

So you want a blank firing gun in Finland? Guess what. They are now "firearms" according to the police and our gun law.
So in order to obtain a blank firing gun you need:
>to pass background check
>go through a psychological test
>go through a police interview
>pay a permit fee of 79€/83$
>it can take anywhere from 1 day to 3 months to get your purchase permit
>then you can purchase the "firearm"
>after that you have 30 days to go a police station to get the weapon inspected or you can be charged with felony
>police stations usually have weapon inspection days and they are only once a week in the middle of the day
Such is life in Finland where people laugh at "stupid americans" and constantly see Europe as a superior country compared to USA.

This thread again. Anon, you need to go shoot at a range where you can rent guns. Go get a feel for them and decide which one you like most. Shoot the M&P Shield, the Glock 19, the Springfield XD-S. Then try a few others that feel nice in your hand. Choose one with the right recoil for your shooting skills. Choose on that's light enough to carry and that will fit under your regular attire.
There are dozens of good cc pistols out there. But only one is best FOR YOU.

hello friends and /k/ommandos,
Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.
What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken toduct-taping a second trauma plateto the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.
Here is the questions. The ducttape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.
Are any of you aware of a thicker plate that could stop, say, .338 Lapua or something like that? Is there a better way to do the second plate?
BTW, I am, of course, usually carrying a pair of ceramic plates in my briefcase so that I can shield my head. My SO (we work as a team when necessary) has a similar accessory containing a breakdown NEF single-shot 300 WinMag with an 18" bbl. The plan is that I shield us with my body and “catch the rounds” while she assembles the NEF. I lay down covering fire with my 23 (Bar-Sto .357 Sig barrel) and she makes the long shots. I will then throw smoke grenades to obscure the area while continuing to lay covering fire. The problem, of course, is when I have to turn my back to run, and then the problem crops up.
