what can I do to make this more realistic??? my art teacher said that there wasn't enough detail in this for me to hand it in. I've already put individual hairs for the face and I spent an hour on the horns. I'm stuck
\(;´□`)/
Read the sticky, post in the beginner thread
>>2501208
There's a lot of symbol drawing going on (horns, eyes, snout etc)
>>2501208
Skin a goat and glue the fur, horns and teeth on the drawing.
don't forget to attach the hooves on the other side of the sheet
Im pretty suckish at drawing hands, any tips/is it possible for improvement in a short amount of time?
If you're going for speed just take a picture of your own hands in the desired pose and use it as a reference. For long term improvement just do daily hand studies.
Probably the most common issue I see with beginners, and I'm guilty of doing it in the past, is going straight for the final product.
Try drawing something on one layer dropping the opacity of that layer to 40%, then redrawing it "better" on top of that image, do the same thing one more time over the the second layer.

Thanks for the link
>>2504668
thanks bro. smoked a bowl and learned about some bosch.
I set up this platform in second life where artists can hang out and set up work like studios. So you could meet people and talk about their work and vice versa. Basically an international shared studio/collective. If you want to check it out get on Second life and send me a message (hans Starsider)
Virtual Studio Circlejerk
No thanks, screw yourselves.

Nah there would be critiques also. Discussions

Pinterest is full of these.

That's hardly horrible. Just fairly useless, unfinished + tumblr nose.
I'm starting to do figure drawing after avoiding it. In addition to people sketching and public and drawing from reference I have a plastic Halloween skeleton. It basically looks like the pic. Are the body and skull decently accurate?
>>2505599
compare it with your own skeleton
>>2505600
>tfw you can never draw your own skull

>What is an x-ray?

Post more interesting stuff. Artists that walk thefine line between art and illustration

Just transformers then.
Constructive criticism on Georgia O'keefe's works.
I really like the painting depicted on the start of the thread for its surrealism and dimension. Opposing opinions, comments and questions welcome.
Is that the vagina-flower lady?
Pic related is one of my favorite works... feels like the first dawn of the cosmic egg.
Hi /ic/
I am looking to do allot of intensive master studies, now that I've become comfortable with charcoal and gouache.
do you guys know of any large archives that have paintings and sketches of the old masters? high resolution please
in particular Leonardo's sketches and Norman Rockwell.
please share with me /ic/. thank you
>>2504853
fuck i need image archives too
>>2504853
look on here >>2479248 for Masterpieces of Drawing, The Drawings of Michelangelo also https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Leonardo_da_Vinci
and also there some books called A corpus of Rembrandt Paintings, Volumes I-V with all the portraits, etchings , etc. however it's aimed for museums and people who own or want to know more detailed stuff about his works.
rembrandtdatabase.org/Rembrandt/cms/corpus
Wikimedia commons has a few high res images for mostly every famous artist I've tried to find so far.
i don't know whether my art is shitty or if my art style is really weird
help me determine the answer because i still like my art either way
No matter what it looks like. If you have to ask, it's shit.
Keep practicing.
>>2504169
its about being able to control how you draw. if you cant draw literally anything in perfect detail, its not good enough.
>good enough for what
You can get a job without being able to draw everything, the point is you need to keep learning indefinitely, permanently, forever.
You won't master it, no one will ever master it, Rembrandt didn't master it. He just got the closest
.
Could you take a picture of the damn thing rather than the place it's layin in ?
>>2503427
No.
>>2503447
Then fuck you and your thread.
Best regards,
Other Anon
So I've been doing observational drawings for most my late childhood to late teens. I absolutely hated them but thought that it doesn't cost much and it helps my art skills one way or another so I enrolled in a public high school that is dedicated to art and pic related is the portfolio I mustered from going for 4 years(I have done a lot of other stuff too but these are among the better works even if they aren't good to /ic/ standards)
I like drawing weeb shit, but almost none of my skills transfer over besides having decent understanding of anatomy and form and my mark making is more concise and intentional than a total beginner. Im going to be taking a supposedly highly intensive anatomy course soon, but what are some other ways I can use the skills I acquired to draw the shit I want?
>>2504798
You want to draw anime? Then draw it? Copy some artists you like and draw it again from memory or from new viewpoints. Probably you are stuck in 2d observation mode from the looks of what you posted, so start learning some construction. Something like the Vilppu Drawing Manual will probably lead to enormous growth. Focus less on long slow renderings, and focus more on shorter things with solid perspective, construction, and gesture.
>>2504798
well I think your observational skills are still not good enough, cause if you observed well, you would see that there is a question thread.
As for your question, you'll probably improve faster than the average people beginning with weeb shit
>>2504801
at what point do i say im ready to start committing more time on detailed rendering? Im not opposed to doing studies and I do them often(maybe not a high enough frequency) but it seems really depressing and discouraging to just completely stop doing stuff someone wants to do and focus purely on studies.
Can somebody explain how to paint something like this? it's godlike and I don't get how to copy this style.
just uselines and shapes like squares and such and eventually a piece will cometogether
Step one is acquiring actual good taste. Work on that.
