I'll probably just try this tomorrow but can you put diluted fountain pen ink into a pentel aquash brush? I have black and gray.
>>2503085
Ya, you don't even need to dilute it. You can also put acrylic and india inks in there, but they might clog the brush if you leave it in there.. I mean for like months.
>>2503085
careful though, you will waste alot of ink if you do that !
>>2503116
>>2503114
That's why I was thinking of diluting it, so as not to waste, because it seems like the capacity is a lot larger than a fountain pen.
Yea I have a feeling india ink would be better (cheaper too) but I was just trying to use what I have. Fountain pen ink is water-based though so I assumed that would help with any potential clogging.
Also what about the Pentel Pocket Brush? Could you put a fountain pen ink in those cartridges with a syringe?

Don't fuck around with a tiny little shitty tablet or you will NEVER make it.
This is the best tablet (for the money) just to let you know; a great starting point. Don't think that you need anything better than this 'cause you don't. I've used pretty much everything else so take it from me bruh

I'm gonna be starting a skype group with daily challenges and shit like that (you dont have to participate in em though.)
anyone who wants to join, add me at mubsee123 and I'll be adding you to the group.
>>2501736
this guy is too cool for the discord, lass and the 3 other skype groups.
Why is everyone always trying to start groups and shit? Just post challenge threads on /ic/ for everyone to see and participate.
>>2501810
everytime i seen a challenge thread i seen the same response.
no requests.
pay me for my art.
What do you draw when you can't think of what to draw, /ic/? I'm sure we all have uninspired moments but I'm also sure many of us soldier on through it.
And yes I mean you, I'm not asking for suggestions.
Pic related for me, I seem to draw them a lot when I'm stumped on subject matter.
I'm a mathematician so things like the Koch snowflake, Sierpinski gasket, Menger sponges, projections of boxes from hyperbolic space to the Euclidean plane, boxes using n-point perspective in the limit as n goes to infinity, the Weierstrass function, Cayley graphs for various groups, and penises.
>>2496882
I think that deserves a /thread.
>>2496866
Go outside and draw whatever you see. Draw something in your house you have never drawn before. Draw something you have always been afraid to draw. Come on, brah, you can literally draw anything.
So I have to go to art exhibitions with my university and hold small presentations before the art works. They are shit and boring. How do I act like it's the greatest thing in the world?
Just act neutral and informative.
>>2502815
post the work. if you have basic formal analysis skills it shouldn't be a problem. whatever the work is, research the context and goals of the movement/style. you don't have to like it, you can discuss how it fails to achieve its goals if you do so intelligently. art criticism is more than just praise.
>>2502816
>>2502818
Yeah I get that. The thing is: I have to propose some ways in which the particular artwork/style can be integrated into a school lesson. (It's a seminar for future teachers) I can't just say: "I'd never let my students do shitty stuff like this."
I basically have to act like it's the shit.
Its rare to find such a multi talented individual; a skilled youtuber who can only only draw as well as the masters but make insightful videos on important current events such as the follies of feminism
We, along with many of our so called living "masters" who only know how to draw and nothing else should learn from him
the average youtuber knows who mrrepzion is, but very few know so called "masters" like Todd Lockwood, James Gurney or anything
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYIfSmBVzkQ
Not since Mike Matei have I seen a more talented artist

Not sure if this is okay to post on this board but not sure where else to ask, is there anywhere I can find a full list of Yoshitaka Amano art books?
Have you tried posting this in the art book general thread?
You are the fucking reason why I won't help anybody here now. I fucking spoonfed you the name of the artist you were too lazy to reverse search from hi-res of his popular piece and now you are further shitting the board without doing even basic research.
And this thread isn't the only post you made about the artist, I swear I saw you in like 2 more threads acting stupid.
Fuck you good sir.
>>2503221
Sorry this is a different anon, iv'e never been on this board before, just thought I would try asking here, I have a lot of the easily available art books by Amano and was hoping someone here maybe had a list of the harder to find ones.

Dont think you made this
>>2503386
what? why? it is poorly executed. the painting isnt very good. there is no color variance on the skin, it has dozens of areas where the artist just haphazardly slams together different layer blending modes on top of eachother, there is no hint of brushwork, i mean i could go on and on.
i can easily believe someone on /ic/ made this image. its not like someone posted a fucking mullins-tier image and asked for critique.
>>2503387
People don't post their own work like this on /ic/. They don't make a new thread with a link to an image they posted online 2 years ago, asking for critique. Yeah, it's bad, but OP sure as hell isn't the artist.
So I was thinking of getting copic markers since they are refillable anyways what does /ic/ think about them? I plan on grinding fundamentals with regular pencil and paper and practicing color with a small tablet i have. Also I was very curious about acrylics, gouache and other mediums that I have not discovered yet
Copics are great, but very, very expensive. I only use them for black and white drawing. I simply can't afford to get into color work with them.
Lately I've been working mostly in digital anyway.
If you're a beginner/intermediate do not waste money on copics. Go with a cheaper brand like dickblick or ultraset or artist loft. Working digital is different than working IRL, especially if you want to experiment with different mediums. You can practice colour on the tablet but you should do traditional occasionally as to take a break from the colour picker in favor of your own eyes.
>>2502812
Sounds like you don't do much painting... I'd definitely start practicing with some cheap acrylics so you can get a hang of the basics. Gouache dries really quickly, especially acrylic based gouache, so starting with acrylic paint will give you a little more time to work with it.
I have copics. They're ok. Sucks to colour big areas with the markers though, so I just use watercolour and then build up dimension with copics.
Draw thread.
Post your current art/critique others.
I think the other one is dead and I need some help.
You should work on the values. Also fix those eyes, they're wonky.
i got you man don't worry
>>2498305
Post anything comic related, preferably your own work.
Critique is always welcome.
Oh my, this looks really good. Nicely done, OP. Nicely done...
Has anybody here taken Steve Ahn's Storyboard Workshop and can tell me if it's worth it? Or better yet, has any or all of the resources included?
