Let's steal other artists accomplishments.
Piece of shit.
Why is chicken scratch drawing supposed to be so bad? I actually enjoy the way they look.
Sometimes it can be done tastefully, but 99% of the time it just showcases your lack in line confidence and screams "beginner."
I don't believe it. Post an example of what you consider nice chicken scratching.
>>2507987
Because for those who are trying to learn how to draw that method will slow down their learning progress significantly. A person who doesn't chick scratch will sketch faster, like in under 1 minute in comparison to those who do will take 20 minutes to finish a sketch.
Where do I get started with learning architecture? Which books by whom should I look into?
I want to make environments/scenery have my buildings not look like bashed-together concept art vomit (sorry for being harsh about the wording) that doesn't have the underlying principles of buildings down pat.
>>2504729
Have you tried going outside and drawing buildings in your city?

general abstract thread
Paint an abstract form of this qt.
Look at the picture of the woman you posted.
You need to imagine there is a nuke setting off behind her, melting her soft tissue and throwing it on your canvas.
Then you paint her.

pic very not related, i just have to listen to music and paint the song basically. come on /ic
"Cities&Villages - City of Dreams" drawn with a ballpoint pen. The large-scale work of a ballpoint pen with the romantic name "Cities & Villages - City of Dreams" - the author's work of 26-year-old artist from Kyiv Oleksander Kucheriavyi. So, ordinary ballpoint pen millimeter by millimeter created the drawing "City of Dreams". Picture Size - 1,8h2,5m that in general 4,5Sq.m. In "Cities&Villages - City of Dreams" perfectly thought-out urban infrastructure. In residential areas many squares and parks, convenient parking, modern, spacious buildings, there are no traffic jams and gassy industrial zones. All quite authentic architectural objects - stadiums, schools, universities, shops, subways, highways, airports, business centers, train stations, enterprises, power stations, gas stations and the like. Perhaps this is the only city in the world where everyone can move into whichever house and call out your name

I'm more interested in the closeup of the drawing or the cad file than read through your incomprehensible post.

what the fuck is with that orange and yellow shit in the corner

its obviously a honeycomb next to an anthill, symbolizing the work ethic of an urban community. sorry, I don't think you're gonna make it.
Looking for good videos of people speed painting, specifically ones that show there creative process from idea to conception and any references they use. self advertising welcome.

ART IS FINISHED AND BANKRUPT

that's an interesting little gimmick and might have some cool application for low budget 3d animation, but where exactly do you see this finishing off art when this filter requires an existing art piece as its basis?
Threads like this are the same as the "I have 'x' ultra rare disease that prevents me from getting good, so why bother trying."Toggle

We get it, you don't really want to learn how to draw/paint and this just gives your lazy ass and excuse to never try, because robots.

btw guys paypal is now fine with porn and adult content. was just a matter of time desu, adult market is GIGANTIC and probably makes up 80% of the internet.
so your paypal is safe as long as you don't sell content that breaks the law (loli in some countries for instance).
fap away fellow porn warriors.
this also means you can now sell smut on gumroad, and patreon will most likely also allow nsfw patreons to use paypal for payment in the future (no idea about this though because i think as of now they don't allow it)

Provide a source for this.

OP why do you lie?
>want to improve my rendering of lighting in paintings
>end up watching a lecture about how light is absorbed, reflected, refracted and transmitted.
Share with me anons, what bits of science have you learnt just from your artistic pursuits?
>want to get a bit into world-building for my own art and concepts
> end up learning how plants and insects have evolved and developed and how nature creates the most efficient designs
>>2502470
I have the exact opposite experience. I'm an engineering student so when we were learning optics all I could think was, "Wow, this makes rendering make so much more sense"
>>2502473
There's nothing wrong with that if you want to become a scientific illustrator or something of the like.
If you want to world-build, learn some of the basics of writing, read Tolkien.
What is the best way to memorize objects? For example, if i'd want to draw an accurate laptop, I would have to know what it consists of:
1) How many buttons does it have? (the QWERTY layout)
2) How does the screen connect to the keyboard/hardware part?
3) How many holes are on the side?
If you'd want to be more technical, you could memorize the structure of the internal components (motherboard, graphics card, ram etc.)
If you google "How to memorize objects", it shows you how to memorize the order of words (memory palace, peg system), but how do you memorize the specifics?
>>2508053
The best way to memorize things is repetition. Draw that laptop several times from several angles, and also draw it from memory from those angles and others and check to see how accurate it is.
Also being able to break down complex forms into several simpler ones will help you be able to both remember things and rotate them in space easier.
>>2508054
But i would like to memorize WITHOUT drawing with a reference first (sounds dumb, but possible). I would love to integrate the memory palace/peg memory system into drawing, but I'm just not sure how. (Riven Phoenix has a very similar approach, but I would like to make it better)
>>2508070
>(sounds dumb, but possible)
So is skydiving without a parachute.
A basic exercise would be to study the reference then put the reference away and draw the subject from memory until you can no longer recall sufficient detail to continue. Repeat with a new study until you can keep the image of the reference in memory for as long as is needed to complete a study.
There are but a few books on the subject of memory drawing. Darren Rousar has a book and blog on the subject, for one.
Is this legit Winsor & Newton?
I'm looking to buy Gouache that can ship to Indonesia and found this:
aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-winsor-newton-gouache.html?isrefine=y&site=idn&groupsort=1&SortType=price_asc&g=y&SearchText=winsor+newton+gouache&initiative_id=SB_20160502052142&shipCountry=ID&needQuery=n&pvId=6-100007673
It has chinese characters and even labelled as "poster color". Is it a knockoff?
>>2508050
Windsor and Newton paints have been manufactured in China for a few years now. It's most likely the real thing.
Poster color is a more watery form of gouache (less binder). It's the stuff the use for animation backgrounds (think of Ghibli and older anime shows) and in classrooms.
>>2508055
but winsor and newton don't even produce poster color, so I'm pretty confused
>>2508057
I've found that on Asian sites like this "poster color" and "gouache" are used interchangeably. But judging from the fact that the W&N paints are in tubes and not jars (poster color is always in jars), I'd say it's really gouache.
If you're worried about this you can order the Pebeo instead.

Is there any reason to buy a wacom tablet instead of a ipad pro with apple pencil?
Pressure levels.
i think the apple pencil has more pressure levels and less latency
I'm also thinking about buying one. The only downside is, that there is no photoshop.
1st time trying a realistic drawing. Any criticism is welcome

what the fuck? are you serious about this? there seems to be promise. dump the lined paper and get some cheap printing paper on a clipboard.
