So, I think it's time that I start to learn how to digitally paint. I've been practicing my fundamentals on reg pencil and paper for a while and will continue to do so alongside learning to draw digitally with clip studio paint. My question is how and what do I even start with. I see videos of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrgzwPsJ0R4&list=PLPXUtUjog4s3fw8F5KpR6YSBCVmiHmLru&index=10 that look amazing with just a base color, darker shade, and highlights to finish. While there are videos of shit tons of layering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8v7pw98Ktw , which seems a lot more complicated. I guess I want to know how one does both.

Did that one anon finish the vid series? Or did anyone else watch it?

I'm going to study software engineering in college.
how easy would be to get a girl from the graphic design and another girl from the music department and convince them to make a team?
of course this also include having a threesome.

>dickbrain
>not gonna make it
>>2796654
I'm going to be the coder faggot.
>>2796657
So just dick, then?
Did he make it?
>>2795980
he's the historic equivalent of /ic/
>always tried really hard,
>put way to much effort into pieces that look like garbage
>never got paid to make art.
>was actually mentally ill
>has good color theory sometimes
>>2795985
no, hes actually the antithesis of /ic/ and the internet-art crowd.
He didn't give a fuck about fundamentals in his art, he would never take shitty commissions for a buck, and he actually had mental problems unlike most of /ic/ who are just simply posers and rude assholes.
>>2796151
>He didn't give a fuck about fundamentals in his art
I still see an adherence to line and form, as well as a good grasp of colour theory.
What are these?
I think you can sharpen charcoal on them
Either that or exfoliate your face.
>>2794757
Sandpaper. It's used for sharpening the dulled graphite of pencil points without using a metal sharpener. Handy if you have crap pencils whose graphite breaks when you try to use a mechanical sharpener on them.
Pretty sure you scrape your dick with it
>tfw drawing and painting are more profitable than being a writer or musician
How so
>>2794742
don't forget that in both cases you need to be a good artist, which you probably are not, so it doesn't really make any difference if you are a writer or a painter. sorry for bursting your bubble, scrubby.
>>2794785
>what is graphic design
Anyone Like these things?
>>2792420
I do. I've always wanted one but even the wood simple ones are quite expensive where i live
I got this pretty basic one 7 months ago at waltmart
>>2792420
I use Figmas as mannequins.
Am i the only one that get a tumblresque feel on this?
It's done in digital btw hence the sloppy artificial lines.
There is no official portrait yet. It'll get done when he's actually president.
>>2796090
Can't be the official portrait. Not on a throne, no Klimt style gold on everything
>>2796090
>artificial lines
what a retard. fuck off to wherever you came from, you don't belong here.
Hey guys. Looking for a lightweight gallery programme that always stays as a foreground window, so you can have reference pictures without having to paste it into PS or use split windows. Used it a long time ago but I don't remember the name or where I found it. Thanks.
>>2796082
looks like you should be focusing on other things other than shitty ways to ref
>>2796088
If you mean the picture it's not mine, though I think it looks nice. What a better way to ref, then?
>>2796082
Pure ref?
I just ordered the new Wacom Mobilestudio Pro 16in model. I am considering getting into digital art, and I actually have minimal experience in art. I have all Loomis books already and willl start once my tablet arrives. Was it a bad decision /ic? Will the tablet speed up my skill progression?
>>2789095
Can you easily afford the tablet or are you a poorfag
>Will the tablet speed up my skill progression?
no
>Was it a bad decision /ic?
probably, you should of went cheaper since you have minimal experience. if you are going for a art career in art later, it won't be much of a problem.
>>2789095
>willl start once my tablet arrives.
Start now, you fuck. There's nothing holding you back from grabbing paper and a pencil.
>Was it a bad decision /ic?
Yes, considering you could have bought both a Cintiq 22 for your desktop and an iPad Pro for on-the-go usage and still have change left. Ultimately it doesn't matter if you have enough disposable income to drop $3k without thinking about it, so you're fine.
>Will the tablet speed up my skill progression?
No. Especially if you think digital is going to help you draw better.
MERRY CHRISTMAS /ic/!
It's been a fun year learning and talking with you all. Good luck in 2017 and I hope you all improve!
>posts weaboo trash
and I hope you kill yourself soon, thanks bye
>>2790169
>hoping and wishful thinking
Dare I say it?
>>2790177
If you don't like anime, don't bother posting in this thread :3
Can someone teach me / show me, links, tutorials, names, words, techniques, programs etc on how to achieve this effect with my drawings?
>>2796236
And I know it's called pointilism or stippling, but I can't find any good tutorials on it on how to do it in a digital environment and get the exact same effect?
Also, do I use illustrator? Photoshop? What do I use? I want it to look exactly like this, crisp af.
>>2796236
Read up on Loomis, study his divided ball and plane and how he applies perspective.
>>2796240
Thanks man!!!
My first ball made out of points!
How does /ic/ feel about doing sprites the kof 12 way?
pic related, my attempt.
>>2796183
I like this better
longtime spriter here
ive seen this done a lot when you reach pro level, there simply isnt enough time to make everything pixel perfect
i believe all of KOF used low res drawings to convert to pixel art
i made pic related in 2012 when i was 20
it was a drawing, cleaned up, then saved as a bitmap to lower the amount of colors and i just pixel'd over it
i believe the photoshop equivalent is using "threshold"
Thoughts on this?
Still needs more work.
Need an idea for the background.
>>2796062
Do you have a blog?
Nah, i just like to draw sometimes. Why?
>>2796071
you should draw more than sometimes
What the fuck is wrong with the 6.3.19-3 drivers?
The software has already deleted all my settings twice, and when making brush strokes, it will occasionally freeze the entire tablet for 2 seconds or so. It didn't do this before I did the update to 6.3.19-3.
Is Wacom going to fix this soon? If not, which drivers are the best for an Intuos Pro Medium on Windows 10?
>windows 10
All Wacom drivers are utter trash.
>>2793570
I've figured it out.
There has to be one driver version that's less trash than the others though. I mean, at least the version I used just yesterday didn't delete my settings or freeze.
