I'm an illustrator not an artist. Does anyone else feel this way?
I consider you to be neither.
Great illustration OP

no because thats fuckin stupid
After spending money on four genius cheap tablets, and getting tired of their BS after their pen literally becomes too hot and stop working after some months, I decided to save money and buy a wacom.
I have to say, I was impressed by the package of it, and hope it will last at least more than genius pen tablets.
Surprised how the pen doesn't require an AAA batery, wonder how they do it.
Basically wacom is the apple of drawing tablets and feels good.
The moral of the story: Genius tablets are pure horse shit.

is it just me or does that girls head look really loooooooooooooong
We tried to tell you, but would you listen? Nooooo.
Also contrary to apple, wacom products are actually good

I know it many of you youngsters wouldn't understand, but when I was your age, noill didn't exclusively draw /SS/.
fuck I miss noill
If I would host a booru for drawing references, would you use/post there?
For those not familiar with concept of boorus, it's a site with exhaustively tagged pictures. Vast majority of boorus I'm familiar with are for drawn porn, for example https://gelbooru.com. You can go there and search with tags, for example query "1girl long_hair dress" will return pictures with one girl in them, with long hair, in a dress. Of course, as this booru would be for references, we would also do tags like "from_behind", "strong_light", "backlight" and other stuff.
Would there be general interest for maintaining such library? Right now, do you keep your own personal library, or none at all?
>>3011616
i would post there, i like the idea.
but i would probably actually want to just let other people do all the work of uploading and tagging images
I've seen d/ic/ks come together to contribute to something like this in the past. It's also a great chance to waste an afternoon autisming a database (which more people enjoy doing than you'd think)
So yes, go for it anon

Sounds great to me, would contribute from time to time. Not entirely sure about the issue with copyright tho
Does anyone have the gumroad/patreon tutorials by Kawacy? I would really love to take a look at how he renders his images.

I guess we could also make a general tutorial thread out of this.

That's right. We will abolish all your sculptures and images of people and animals. Eradicate all of those works...expel the Jews from the arts and establish a higher goal utilizing the creative process.
You will be immersed in infinite variations of coherent abstract patterns and designs. While you currently create within the box, we will aide you in thinking outside of it to create work that has never been seen before...resulting in a totally new art movement...this is currently the agenda...the modern art movement of the Jews will crumble with their meaningless, indulgent corporate art.

>practicing the same thing over and over again figuring out whats wrong and then changing it the next time until you've perfected it
I would assume so.
>>3021422
Well you are better off learning perspective so you can draw anything at any angle rather than having to start 'iterative technique' each time. Albeit repetition (which is the main idea of his video) is important in a way. You are technically doing iterative drawing as a warm-up depending on the warm-up; circles, boxes, lines, proportion for example.
It's 50/50 so he is neither right nor wrong. Here is a video on perspective thinking:

>>3021434
This might sound autistic, but I've done a fuckton of perspective and I sitll have trouble with it.
I got no 'sense' of it, if that makes sense. I can't make a perfect 1x1x1 cube for example.
I need more general milage to improve in perspective at this point.
do any of you get an adrenaline rush just by drawing? surely i can't be the only one
>>3021325
On a good day, I surely do. It depends on the subject matter a lot, though drawing from life always has that effect, definitely
i get it by not drawing

Instead of making sterile discussions about who was better between classic authors and modernists, what do you think of classic art? Can it be read again by modern authors and critics to develop a better understanding of art thanks to the new knowledge and technology of our age? Is it more meaningful than today's authors and modern avant-gardes?
>>3021079
The classics fill me with envy, therefore I don't like them.
>>3021079
My theory is that all art movements past the standardization of the camera are all rebellions against the thought of being replaced by the camera.
That man can't be replaced by machine. A rebellion that people are steadily giving up on as the culture of hopelessness reaches all-time highs, everything is steadily automated and all purpose and place in society - down to the arts - is lethargically thrown to the winds. The rise of the photobasher.
Anyway most artists pre-camera were glorified cameras, and quite good at it.
The last wave of classicist subjects was probably in 1920... We've seen a revival of classicist technique since then, but it hasn't been nearly as successful.

For what purpose?
The pic in OP is my favorite of the ones you did, blur beside.
It's always been a fantasy of mine to learn concept art at an art school. I wanted to collate all the known art schools, so that the options could be weighed up. At present, I know of FZD, CDA, RED ENGINE, CDW, etc. Please post those you know (perhaps where you learned!) and your opinions!
