Anyone here use Drawpile? It kicks the shit out of flockdraw and the other collab drawing programs. Dont see many people from ic on there though. If youre having trouble motivating yourself to draw, drawpile is a lot of fun.

Yeah, sometimes. It's quite good. At one time there was an /ic/ room but never returned.
>>3020633
It's fun as a group and more often than not devolves into drawing dicks in and around other peoples drawings, though the program itself is mostly good for thumbnailing.
So /ic/ which one is more difficult, digital drawing or traditional drawing?
>>3019745
traditional, not even up for debate
>>3019746
ive heard of people that have trouble with digital even trought they know how to use it
learning how to draw and paint digitally is harder but the actual drawing process is easier than traditional
Does anyone have the one painting of the people in the restaurant staring directly at the viewer with judging eyes? The cat was judging you too. Please /ic/ I know someone has to have it

IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at:

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Take your meds Grandpa.

Do you often find that you're actually just drawing yourself? every character I draw I can only see myself looking back in some weird way. like they all have my eyes
>>3018620
No, not outright.
But it does creep in in other ways. For example, I've always found that I've had trouble drawing skinny people, for obvious reasons.
When I was in the first couple months of drawing I used to look in my mirror as a reference for what certain facial features look at certain angles. Then when I drew random characters (it was shitty since i was a beginner but thats not hte point) they'd look like me. Took a while to break the habit.
>>3018620
I feel the same way but when writing characters.

I heard you guys critique art
This might not qualify and this is probably a horrible mistake but..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d90lueesyc
this has absolutely nothing to do with art
What did you have for breakfast?
how do you stop autistically focusing on all the small details before you even lay out the scenery
just draw blobs, then fill in the details later
>>3018130
Zoom out so that your canvas is roughly half (or a little bit less than half) of your screen. That way you can literally only focus on the main forms of your composition/character. It was my own personal breakthrough. It'll feel awkward at first I assume since you're telling me you focus on details at first but just power through it for an hour and see the change in process.

Fine artists squint
I have was a discussion with a friend whether or not modern day industry level artists are as good or better than the old masters.
He referred to some of the more widely known artists like Kim Jung Gi, who can draw almost anything from imagination to industrial design artists like feng zhu who can come up with astonishing landscapes, to japanese animators who can manipulate and draw characters in a variety of different poses while maintaining proportion.
>>3017332
I had a* sorry
>>3017332
yes because the old masters didn't have the knowledge or resources that we have now. Leonardo Da Vinci had to steal corpses from burial sites in order to dissect them to learn anatomy.
No, because I can't think of anybody that has surpassed people like Bouguereau. Doing that would probably require 70 years of practice just like he probably had.
>finally join a game studio in the art department like I always wanted
>honeymoon period lasts 2 weeks
>I fucking hate my job now
I can't believe I actually fell for this meme

What's the problem then? Too much work? An annoying boss?
Once you get a paycheck you'd prolly fall in love again

What is a public location where I can draw art homework with nude photo reference?
>>3016869
why does it have to be public?
>>3016872
I don't have a desk at home to do homework. Sharing a room.
>>3016869
You can go to a public library and ask for a private room to study in. Though, it depends on the type of library near your location OP.

I have no idea what I'm doing regarding the colors, and I never know if my colors are weak or my values, or both.
