ALL ABOARD THE KOOL KIDS KLUB
but I did do the 6th panel.
What did you have for breakfast?
How would I go about recreating this sort of textured background in PS? Also generally what advise is there for visualizing abstract backgrounds?
>>3025366
Looks like a few big random texture brush slapped on a dark canvas senpai. If you need a little push, just snag a textured canvas off google start, or render some difference clouds off the filter menu and smear it about till you see some interesting shapes that won't distract from the foreground subject. Just don't over think it.
Is it the best drawing tablet for its price? Do any of you use it? How would you rate it?
Bought one last christmas- its pretty okay- The drivers don't crash as often as some other non-wacom tablets. On the off chance it does, reconnecting the usb cable usually fixes it.
Parallax isnt an issue, unless youre like 1cm from the borders of the screen.
The pens have surprisingly long charge life and don't feel all that heavy.
The stand it comes with is fine and personally haven't felt the need to buy a fancier arm stand.

Ima let you finish, but the Monoprice 19" interactive pen display was the best drawing tablet of ALL TIME
>>3023935
What do you personally not like about it?
Curious to know if John K's blog posts in regards to his "Cartoon School" is actually very informative.

He's a nutcase and contradicts himself.
John K doesn't live in the same universe as us, nothing he teaches has any meaning in our reality
>>3023681
his blog is very informative

How to escape from uncanny valley in art?
>>3024566
I know what this is. I think she's beautiful.
It's all in the eyes.
>>3024592
the left pic looks weird, but the right pic throws me. there is just enough imperfection, that at first glance it looks real.
What do you do when you feel like your level as an artist plateaus ? do you go back to the fundamentals ?
I feel like this has happened with my own art and I'd be really interested in some critique. I'd like to know what works and what doesn't. And what I can do to improve ?
I don't mind even harsh honesty but please avoid one-liners if possible. (Links in the next post)

I'm really looking to improve, i used to do a lot of observational sketching and model-drawing, (I do less now, but still occasionally) and because of my job as an animator i draw daily.
>>3025307
anyone ?
>>3025307
fine fine fine heres your (You)
when you plateau at something you gotta shake it up a lil man, start doing completely diffrent things, experiment more, look at new styles. . i mean ur art looks p shitty two me but thats mostly cause you used a pixel brush so it feels rly rough and the random words on everything make it hard to process. like it looks better minimized cause then it looks nice and soft and seems like you put water sparkles desu.
crit my 2 peeces
this one is 2 hours in WIP, but i am hating the scale and perspective so im thinking about doing it again
i want the statue to be real big and real lit up and cracked and shit
i just don't know what references there are for the kind of composition i need to make
>>3024286
I like it dude. Did you study anything to get better with nature/landscapes?
>>3024316
i just looked at a ghibli background art while drawing my own and kept stealing certain details and textures for myself
I really want to tell a story and graphic novel is the only medium I can work on, because its cheaper and my writing skills wont allow me to write a novel, so tell me /ic/ how do i utilise the medium for my advantage?I have learned some of the basic tricks that most comic/manga artists do but I want to know more. I am confident about my story but I am not getting enough confidence regarding my knowledge of the medium itself, like in movies some directors use colour palette, camera techniques and composition to tell a visual story which isnt dependent on the script,I can do the same in my graphic novel too but that doesnt necessarily makes it exclusive to its own medium so what are the things I need to keep in mind when I am trying to do the same in case of graphic novels? I know its virtually impossible to fully utilize the medium in your first comic but I can try and fail.

bump.

im sort of in the same boat as you. id love to be able to at least draw like those old golden age comics or something similar to that style. i do read a shit load of comics and i suggest you do as well.
make sure you learn how to draw people in every single pose you can think of and make sure they're dynamic.
this is a good series of videos by stan lee about it

this is just a sample of the kinds of videos Strip Panel Naked does. he does a lot of good breakdowns of comics.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbMj9f0mcBA
this one is just about panel layout
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVXqbteiflY
computers and whatnot have streamlined the process greatly but that's mostly for the inkers and colorists. professional comic artists should be able to draw a page a day.
oh and make sure you read watchmen. it's basically essential to anything related to comics.
>>3022211
I am actually more interested in manga storytelling, the aspect to aspect technique...it really helps to set the tone and gives readers an instant feel of atmosphere but I am way too creatively bankrupt to do that I guess.
Is there a future in being a comic book illustrator?
Give me hope /ic/
Is they still exist today, there's a chance.
>>3021986
just make your own comic. try to brighten somebodies day. success.
stop being a fame seeking freak fag. fame is lame.
>>3021986
imo it's very hit or miss. Jobs on comic books are very scarce and the market is not very huge. My advice would be to do work on your own project and try to get a patreon going. If you are not cancer, which I find it hard to believe since you're here, that could prove to be sustainable. You could even do a kickstarted project later on if your audience is big enough.
you can only post ITT if you have more than 4000+ followers

Porn.
No.
Bandwagon behavior.
Yes.
>>3021976
Could you tell me more about your experiences doing porn? I'm a moderately successful freelancer right now and I've been wanting to do porn for a while (both for artistic pleasure and money).
What does /ic/ think of my first piece? Feel free to be honest and abusive, and drop in a suggestion on what I should add to it (coloring, shading, etc).
The shading on the snake feels blotchy to me and I don't really think it conveys of the form of the snake turned around the staff very well.
>>3018862
Noted, I did request to the artist that one of the snakes to be darker than the other

Let's see how good are these brushes. Show in this thread what you did with them. Doesn't really matter what you do. Just have fun.
>>3024833
You first
>>3024837
sadly my boi , ain't got PS cc . And there's no ABR file for me to actually try . I wish i would tho.
I'll post greyscale png's of what the brushes look like, so you can create an .abr yourself.
The majority of graffiti art is just squggly letters and cartoon characters.
Often the cartoons are directly copied off something.
The reason why people like sofles stand out so much is becaue of sponsorship and be being one of the minority of people with talent that dedicate their time to graffiti.
um yeah
>>3024769
I meant squiggly.
>>3024769
Graffiti is also a lifestyle
