How the fuck do I progress past this stage? Forgive me, I'm new to painting and I'm using a Waicom Comic Pro. Can I get some fucking advice on how to move past this stage and add some detail so it actually looks like something? I have next to no idea what to do next.

You have to get better at drawing and at using reference for things when you don't know how they look like.

do a 100 hour master study, you'll get it
I use the light source's color to show the some of the outlines of the armor details and the parts that arent in light i use shadows
Planing on picking up some course(?) for up to $1000 or however you phrase it. Any suggestions? Willing to rip it, with OBS or whatever is the best option. So it will be in your interest to give legit suggestions and not link a course on killing yourself.
Looking forward to all Loomis suggestions in this thread.
Watts atelier seems like the most useful and elusive one out there.

Depends what you want to learn. I mean, there are so many different subjects how can we recommend anything to you if we don't know what you want to focus on?
Anyone else find themselves habitually analyzing everyone they see? Like you're talking to your best bud and just mentally identify his whole facial structure and individual planes. Then later on you see that the bald guy on the show you're watching has the most beautiful head. Maybe you'll extend to visualizing the bones in someone's hand while appearing like you want to eat it.
gonna make it
i remember when i was week 1
I know both have 4 gb of ram but ios is less ram hungry than windows so the ipad might be better in this aspect. But what about the new surface pen? does it has the same pen jitter problems as before? what about the activation force?

Are you going to buy one of the two?
If you like iOS and don't already have the first iPad Pro then the new one should be a nice addition to your Apple ecosystem.
If you hate iOS then don't bother, if you already have the first iPad Pro, then don't bother unless you are hemmoraging money. On the plus side, the Smart Keyboard and pencil work with the new iPad, so you can save $300...

Yes, I will buy one of the two. However I don't even have a tablet, just a wacom intous(pen small) but I hate it (my lines looks terrible because there's not screen on this thing) . Thats why I'm looking for an alternative. (already tested the apple pencil on a store and it feelt really natural.

just no
Neither of the two are suitable replacements for a computer. The iPad is more portable and won't lag on you, so it makes for a better sketchbook. I don't use mine a lot but if all you're doing is painting Procreate will get you 90% of the way that Photoshop does. The brush engine is fantastic and the gesture shortcuts are good enough, but it lacks most of the adjustment tools and filters that Photoshop has.
Do you have characters that you seem to only draw when you're in a specific mindset?

Yeah. I love skeletons. I express my feeling through them. Sorry for poop proportions but its just a doodle

I draw these two a lot because I can't actually draw, so I just make stuff out of the scribbles.
My little cousin walked in on me drawing today and waned to draw something herself. He tried to draw Bob Ross. I think it's beautiful.

I hate drawing backgrounds because I suck and I just want to draw dynamic anime characters that 15 year olds will buy.
Any tips on how to come up with or create simple backgrounds that are appealing but don't require a lot of environment skills?

That looks atrocious OP. Just keep it simple like pic related

>what is this type of work?
I'm pretty sure it's a painting.
whats this style called and what do i practice in order to draw like this?
>>3015544
isn't this just a charcoal portrait?
The 'style' is called controlling your values.
I'm traveling to Montreal this weekend for business. I'm thinking of hiring a hooker to have sex with (duh) but I'm also thinking of asking her if I could draw her naked after sex. Good or bad idea?

if you're the kind of guy who has sex with hookers the asking to draw her thing is incidental. she may charge extra though, who knows
Are hookers legal in Canada?
Critique the shit out of this

I know how important is planning and thumbnailing before making a painting, but I can't help but to feel stupid because I have to figure out stuff instead of just jumping into the final art.
Can you guys post examples of how artists plan their illustrations?

That's pretty awesome stuff, OP.
I have some examples, but it'll take a while to post. In the end, I think it's up to you what your process is, everyone's different.

Have you stopped drawing for long stretches of time?
I have months long breaks every so often. What can be done about this? My issue is I forget doing the things I like and get busy dwelling on things I don't like.
>>3013712
Doing small sketchs to relax then, you don't have to draw big and serious pieces all the time, just sketch some silly stuff to have fun. Also sometime taking a break will help your brain learn.
cool
>>3013712
I too have noticed the cyclical nature of art, but I'm pretty sure the solution is just to develop a habit of drawing every morning, although I also think that it's natural.
It's also important to notice your mental state: if you're hating drawing, then you're probably going to end give up for a little while until you come back to it later on after a rediscovery period. Everyone has their breaking point, so It's a good idea to stop making it out to be something you don't want to do. If you catch yourself saying "I hate this" change your language. Try not to let it come to that point.
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
