Why do some people try to meme the Central Powers of WW1 into being the good guys
Sure they werent as bad as WW2 Germany, but is it really necessary to exaggerate their "goodness" to make the parallel?
Central Powers:
-Started the war (A-H officially started it and Germany made it a WW)
-Were the first to use gas
-Were the only side to massacre civilians en mass (Armenian Genocide and Rape of Belgium).
They were probably no "bad guys" in WW1, but if there had been, it would've been the Central Powers
>>1790720
The bad guy was that asshole Wilson who should have left well enough alone. Instead of letting Europeans settle things on their own, his interference would lead to WW2 and the Cold War.
Austria started the Austro-Serbian war.
It was Russia that escalated it into World War 1 with their painfully obvious warmongering intent, mobilizing men on the German and Austrian border even before the Austrian ultimatum was finalized.
what was germany's explanation for declaring war on neutral belgium?
How did the Ottomans kept an empire so big for that long while being so shit at war?
>>1781403
By taking the healthiest sons and turning them into Janissary drones who'd kill their parents and siblings without a shred of remorse if they'd rebel, kept the subjugated people pacified for a time being.
In their phase of conquest they had competent leadership pared with favourable circumstances, like a weak Byzantine empire and inner fighting in Europe.
Also they were able to field large armies due to a large manpower pool and proper logistics.
But yeah I'd say the biggest reason would be favourable conditions.

If you could change one outcome in history, what would you change?
Like changing the victor of a decisive battle, or preventing an event from taking place
Make Sweden win the battle of Poltava.
Since you didn't put any limits i will say the battle ends with 0% casualties for Sweden and 99.9 for Russia

Romans were not non-germainc.
Muslim accept Christ as a prophet.
>He (Iesus) said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet. (19:30, Yusif Ali)
As a prophet, he has just as much influence on Islam as Muhammed.
> When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute:therefore fear Allah and obey me.(43:63, Yusif Ali)
"Obey me" could be "worship me", but in this context it means "listen to what I say and do as I say"
> You have heard that it was said to the ancients, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' (Gospel quote)
Christ says "Do not murder, murder will cause a judgment upon the soul", so Muslims, who accept Iesus as a prophet, will listen to and hear this revelation from Iesus. Those who oppose this, are not Muslim, for they have walked away from Iesus and his revelation.

Lol. It's literally a bible rip off.
Why would you read this shit?
Proverbs 29:22An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.
>"ALLAH is HE besides Whom there is none worthy of worship, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. HE has sent down to thee the Book containing the truth and fulfilling that which precedes it; and HE has sent down the Torah (Law of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guidance to the people; and HE has sent down the Discrimination (judgement between right and wrong)."—Qur'an, Surah 3:3-4
Most Muslims, Christians, Jews, or Eastern religions, in real life are more understanding and tolerant than the internet makes people out to be.

>The truth is, though, that Rome’s Asian contemporaries completely dwarfed Rome in many respects: heritage, population density, cultural diversity, technology, architecture, medicine, philosophy, poetry… I could go on, but you get the idea. During the Roman period, the Asian continent was by far the wealthiest, most advanced, most culturally diverse place on earth.
>Imperial Rome was a dim backwater by comparison.

>Who can say what went through the heads of those Chinese travelers—whoever they were—as they left the light and life of the civilized world behind, setting off on their journey into the savage West?
>How can we guess what they felt at the end of their lives, realizing they would die in Roman Britain, a wilderness at the far end of the world—or what drove them there in the first place?
>If you’d grown up in one of the great Asian cities, would you have been brave enough to depart for the darkness?
>Or would you, like so many millions of others, have thanked the heavens that you were born into the light?

Has there ever been a battle in history where an army that was technologically disadvantaged like the aztecs, won against an army with superior tech?
Or maybe an army with more manpower, lost to a much smaller army? Basically situations that are impossible by all means, but might've managed to miraculously happen anyway thanks to good tactics or the influence of a general?
Usually, the army with more resources or manpower is in the superior position, but are there any times where these were overturned?

>Has there ever been a battle in history where an army that was technologically disadvantaged like the aztecs, won against an army with superior tech?
How much of a technological disadvantage are you willing to consider before qualifying it?
>Or maybe an army with more manpower, lost to a much smaller army? Basically situations that are impossible by all means, but might've managed to miraculously happen anyway thanks to good tactics or the influence of a general?
That is much more frequent. From Agincourt to Carrhae to whatever that battle is called where Si Ren Fa kicked the shit out of the Ming (also might qualify for the tech disadvantage), that sort of thing is fairly frequent. Hannibal won quite a few of these, and Cannae is a classic for a reason. Half of the battles of the Greeks vs the Persians, or the post-Marian romans vs just about anyone, also would qualify, although you might want to disqualify them based on quality methods.
>Usually, the army with more resources or manpower is in the superior position, but are there any times where these were overturned?
Sure, lots of times.
Yes, this has happened more times than we could even possibly imagine. Why would you ask such a silly question? The sheer number of battles in human history means it's bound to have happened.

I guess it would be pretty cool to have been one of the Zulu soldiers at the battle of Isandlwana.
