Hi /g/,
can anyone share their journey learning C++ step by step?
I really don't want to waste time with resources that are bad so please share your experiences.

read programming principles and practice using c++ 2nd edition then effective modern c++
>>
>>55671763
As much time as you are going to waste trying to curate the "right" resources you could instead just read through some of them and make something. What you're doing is procrastinating. Just read The C++ Programming Language or C++ Primer Plus - the more important part is actually writing though, and we can't do that for you.

I learned about computer architectures and their specifications and then figured in how one might control that piece of hardware and what constructs serve a logical piece of that puzzle.

A monad, for instance, would be a switch case without any calls to `break`. Or a function created with a byte that uses `and` and `or` expressions to evaluate a result.

Can we please have an adult discussion about having both Windows 10 and a Linux distro on one computer in a configuration that maximizes privacy that doesn't devolve into a Linux vs Windows false dichotomy argument?

Why is there no free, open source mobile OS?

Everyone complains about botnet on phones, but there doesn't seem to be a real alternative to android or IOS

So /g/, how do we make PC building more normie friendly?
I have some suggestions:
1. Combine the motherboard and the cpu into one robust non bendy static resistant screwless unit that you can just plug into place inside the case without having to worry about standoffs and shit.
2. Simplify power distribution by increasing the power ratings of the pcie slots to handle any gpu without extra cables and use powered sata connectors to limit the total number of cables coming out of the psu to one big cable that plugs into the motherboard.
3. Add extra reinforcements to any connector that could conceivably break in the hands of a two year old.
4. Merge case power & led, etc. cables into one block.

I think this should be enough for most people. Any other suggestions?

Those are no good. You still need to be able to have the modularity that a proper pc has.
