Well, Intel does still owe over a billion dollars in fines for bribing OEMs and retailers not to sell AMD processors.
Law says that's more that sort of thing is more than a little bit unfair.

Is there any chance ATI or one of the 3rd party manufacturers like sapphire release an EFI version of the 480? Performance and tdp seem perfect for my classic Mac Pro but as far as I can tell it won't work off the shelf.

ATI doesn't exist anymore. They got bought by AMD.

Great, how do I go about doing this?

>>55801702
Yes of course, senior moment right there.

And thank you for that link, but i already knew it can be made to work, I just wanted to know how a version with EFI might help matters, for instance the startup/boot screen (not essential but extremely helpful) and better stability-I'm a video editor, so my computer isn't a pet project, but the way I pay my rent.

Linux newfag here.

I'm using awesome, and I'm trying to control the volume.

1) I'm using xfce4-volumed. Is there a better alternative?

2) I have to launch it though the terminal every time I start awesome. Is there any way I can make it run when awesome starts?

[Unit]
Description=My script

[Service]
ExecStart=/usr/bin/my-script

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

Then:

# systemctl enable myscript.service

In the US at the least.

Australia still has an ongoing beef I believe, and they take false advertisement quite seriously there.

What is this fucking printer-like sound that constantly comes out my speakers? Is this from a bad PSU or something? I know it isn't my speakers themselves

Your motherboard sucks. Get a USB audio device...
>>
>>55801332

How can you be sure it's the motherboard's fault?
>>
>>55801465
Because it always is. It's interference from other components on the mobo. Get a pci audio card with shielded components, or better yet: get a USB audio card.

It would be better if it were some exact dollar and cent amount that was calculated by subtracting 7/8ths from the wholesale cost that they paid to get the memory.

I would respect nvidia a lot more if they pulled shit like that.
