My GPU (r9 290) suddenly set on fire, I was next to my pc when it happened and turned it off, quickly took off the side panel and fought the flame back. I have no idea what went on, was just doing some web browsing and it went.
>>55930586
Holy shit, I hope the rest works... Try booting with the iGPU.
Sucks m8, were the temps fine last time you checked?
I assume it's out of warranty already, right?
>>55930586
RIP
Wait for RX495 or 1080Ti, use the iGPU and take a break from gaming.

Do Indians ever care about anything other than software? I've never met an Indian that didn't code in java. Never do os never do anything rigorous just Shitty android apps and text book projects.
>>55930563
People earns a fortune teaching Java courses here.
Everyone thinks java is necessary to learn in this age.
>inb4 I code in C
>>55930563
The first guy I met at college is Indian and Java is his favorite language. He also knows 2 languages, Java and C. He really thinks Java is the best language out there though.
I don't know what it is with Indians.

Close. For me it goes
C++
Fortran

Recently lost a 6TB RAID0 array.
After a couple days of intensive usage of Recuva got myself a RAID1+0 array and made scheduled task to backup everything truly important to external drive.
What's your backup plan?
>>55930540
A 500GB external drive and some cloud storage accounts that's really it for me
I do. for every hhd I own I have a duplicate.
I periodically check the integrity of files and sync the backups. Still I fall short of the 3-2-1 backup rule but I hope in the future to fix that with a qnap nas.

pic is related, it's my router
>>55930777

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-radeon-rx-480-gaming-x-8192mb-gddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-32j-ms.html
WTF is going on!
>>55930217
Gibbo has said that MSI have only shipped 30 480s for the whole of Europe. That's why he's priced them so high. The regular price will be £269.99 once MSI provide stock.
>>55930616
Holy kek! WTF is going on in AMD land!
Price gouging from low supply and high demand, typical shit every year.
Just hold out for a couple weeks. I wouldn't pay £250 for a 8gb 480, you can get 1060s for that.

How do you feel about that piece of deprecated shit still being the most valuable and profitable skill/programming language while all the actually hard, object oriented programming can be done by a Pajeet for 5$/hour?
But none of that is true

Writing your phone program in one class and calling it in your main() is not oop, faggot
Greetings.
I'm trying to build a surround sound system for my home, specialized mainly for music. All the reviews I could find unfortunately concerned the american market
(Pioneer SP-PK52FS Andrew Jones, ELAC Debut, Intimus 5B Harmony SD).
My budget is around 1000 euros for the speakers (1500 for something really special). Do you have any recommendations?
I'm using 4x Jamo s606 with my A/V Receiver connected to my pc, tv, mixer, ... works good
>>55929996
just get some studio monitors and you're set for life famalam

What exactly are you trying to say?
I'd like to share in you autistic wonderment. But I don't understand what aspect of technology you are highlighting.
Chrome is one of the reasons why I got 32gig ram.
My browsing/chill mode uses about 10gigs of ram.
What's your average consumption of RAM, /g/?
>>55929664
Your system will utilize as much as memory it finds you dumbshit retard
>>55929679
Whoa bro, cool it down.
I bet you only have 4gigs.
>>55929695
How the fuck is that supposed to be a counter argument?
What does /g/ think about the Dell Precision line?
I haven't seen any threads about these here.
I'm on the verge of buying a €2k one for uni stuff like CAD and some low-demanding vidya when I'm not working.
>>55929654
they're on tpg, tpg is full of thinkpad, elitebook, probook, precision and latitude.
It's shit, avoid Dell like HIV.
>bought a Dell Precision
>Came and ran good for a solid week
>screen starts to flicker
>call Dell and get Pajeet on the phone telling me that some UPS guy will come pick it up with a Dell return box
>UPS guy said Dell didn't send the pickup box
>Speedwalk upstairs and wrap my old laptop box in a bin bag so it doesn't bust open and hope for the best
>repair center said there is no problem
>get laptop back and screen no longer fucking turns on
>ring Pajeet back and tell him the deal
>ask for a refund and send it back, UPS guy said Dell forgot the pickup box again
>said there is a problem with the unit I returned
>wait 2 months for an investigation
>randomly get a refund on my card
>dell email me saying they can't refund me as I broke the unit
>send it back to me
>confused as fuck as money is in my bank account, cancel my card so they can't charge it again
>ring Pajeet and ask if I can send the laptop they sent back to me to the repair center again since it's broken still
>Pajeet tells me I am still under warranty
>send it back
>think they're gonna find out about refund and not give me it back
>they return it fixed and fresh
>sell it on Gumtree for 90% retail
I got lucky but their support is terrible, their warranty is more of a meme than helpful.
