Does anyone else miss when AMD GPUs used to be called ATI and they put out good, quality products?
Pic related. I remember buying a 9800 pro bundled with Half-Life 2. It was one of the best GPUs I have ever owned in terms of price versus performance at the time.
Also, general hardware nostalgia thread.
9500 to 9700 mods was good time.
i dunno but it was nice how cards actually fit in their designated slots and didnt cuck the neighbouring ones.

because back then you usually had a sound card and a network card taking up space as well
You can open GUI programs inside Windows using Bash on Ubuntu on Windows using Xming
>Download Xming
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/
>Grab a program using apt-get
>run export DISPLAY=:0
>run your program
Xming will open your program!
>>55937949
You could already do this through SSH with PuTTY+XMinge. This isn't surprising.

>x on Windows
I made this in like 2012. Glad I can finally use bash without the hassle of cygwin.
Thoughts on Pentoo? It's like Gentoo but on steroids in terms of security.

Take some screen shots of the menu so i can see what tools it has installed.
Kali has tons of stuff installed by default, Pretty much anything you need.

it is moreof testing security
it does not actually have higher security

How broken/insane is cleverbot lately anyway?

It's coherent, but still not very human-like
>finally manage to get lewd again

Is there a specialized chatbot for lewd? I'm sick of this shit.
Is it just a fad or is it truly the next big thing in television?
>>55937613
Never seen it in action, I think 1080p movies look good enough, then again most of what I watch and consume is still in 480p or below and it satisfies me just as well.
>>55937613
Likely a fad. I remember back when the very first LED TV with full zone lighting was developed, it had not only incredible contrast ratio but was also incredibly bright. Even though content that could take advantage of those dynamics didn't exist yet, what was obvious is that it put quite a bit of strain on people's eyes.
While our eyes have 20 stops of adaptive dynamic range, our static DR is only about 7 stops, and this is important because static DR is what comes into play when we focus on any object such as a screen. If the dynamics of said static object start to exceed what we can take in at once, it causes eye strain.
While display makers can claim all the contrast ratio that they want, most of it comes from black levels, but it's peak brightness that's the key here. For example, most computer screens are set (or should be set) between 100-140cd/m2 for best viewing comfort, and HDR likely won't be able to stretch its legs at those illumination levels.

fpbp because this is me
I brought one of those curved 4K screen once, and ended up only watching the Andy Griffith show on it before realizing after about 1080p shows from the 50s (which is all I watch) isn't going to look any better or clearer. I sold it
Its going to dell. Ive got a bunch of illegally downloaded games and stuff. Should i do a fresh install before i send it back? Or just removebgames and stuff? Will they snitch on me or something?

Is windows 10 safe to swap to ?
Got 7 , works like cash but i am going to reinstall, wondering if 10 still does shady shit or if its safe to swim deep
>>55937218
If windows 7 works like cash and you're not sure about switching to 10, then don't do it. It's a good operating system except all of the data spying bullshit.

What am I looking at? Is that a piano?
>>55937266
Can agree on this.
I'm considering switching to W10 for better hardware support (native NVMe, decent scaling for 4K/5K screens), but as long as I'm using my current hardware I see no need to "upgrade".
Does anyone know if there is any driver software out there that works for a CECHZC2U model controller? Scp doesnt work for it.

Are there any versions which aren't botnets
Hey /g/. So I want to make an iOS app but don't want to drop 1200 bucks for a macbook that has parts worth $400. If I run OS X on a virtual machine, make an iOS app, and put it on the app store, is there any chance they would realize I didn't make it on a genuine OS X system and take my app down?
Faggot use Apple Swift for windows^^ or use parallel Desktop or kill urself.
>>55937196
Just get a previous gen macbook pro, or run a virtual machine.
Just find a Mac Mini that can run El Capitan. I just found one from 2009 for $125 with keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Is BBS dead, or dying?
All the BSD's have been slowly rotting away since 1991.
>>55937182
Been dead for close to 30 years now.
>>55937229
I don't want the dream to die. BBS makes me feel cozy. Are there any you guys used to frequent?
I've just bought a set of headphones and, when using bluetooth, I can hear the wind inside of them.
Is this normal or are the headphones shit?
They are the Sony mdr-zx770bn. It's them in the picture.
Don't listen to them in the wind
