Anyone know what this weird discoloration is at the edge of my screen?

No, but I think that some liquid must have seeped in there... somehow. at least that's what it looks like
>>
>>55934062
Likely the polarizing filter is becoming separated from the screen. This happens after a few years or so for most monitors, especially on the areas that run hot.

Ditch that. Get a 1060 or a 1070 if you're feeling like it. I'd even recommend the RX480 instead.
>>
Buy MSI GTX 1060. It performs almost like 980 and it's cool.

I've gotten more serious about privacy over the last year. Ditched Google and all apps related to it, no more social networks etc.

However, I don't think I can ever truly be free while using Winbot 10. I don't play video games anymore, just browse, watch movies and listen to music.

What's a good OS to install that will respect my privacy?

Tell me if anyone else has noticed this...Verizon says they will buy you out of your existing wireless plan if you switch to Verizon from another carrier. However, to take advantage of this rebate, they require that you trade in your used device and buy a new device from them. Most of the time, this is a windfall for Verizon and is actually less of a value to the customer. For example, someone with a used iPhone 6s could get $400-$500 for the device on the secondary market. Now they switch from TMobile to Verizon and Verizon pays off the balance on their account in exchange for a $400-$500 phone. If the amount owed to TMobile is anything less then $400 (which it is almost certain to be if you've been in your contract for more than 9 months) then all the benefit goes to Verizon. The customer actually gives up the value of their phone in exchange for the privilege of paying Verizon for a new phone and wireless plan. Now, after you've traded in your phone in exchange for the rebate, Verizon requires you to purchase a new device from them at $27/mo. for 24 months. To recap, Verizon gets: your $500 phone, your monthly payment for your cell plan, and $650 for a new phone. You get: taken advantage of. Am I missing something?

What the fuck did you expect? They exist to make money.

Start asking questions about how RingPlus is a financially viable company and I'll be impressed.
>>
>>55933779
Yes, all for-profit companies exist to make money. However, in most situations, the value of the product you are buying can be subjective to the consumer and each individual decides whether to buy or not depending upon how much they value the product. In this case, Verizon is entering into a direct transaction with you in which they are taking something of value from you, and giving you nothing in return. It actually goes beyond normal course of business type stuff into the realm of fraud.

Arch's maintainers are manchildren.

For a pretty good distro, the community is seriously insane.

I approached someone about an autistic and ridiculous versioning scheme asking why he implements it (it's nonstandard) and he basically told me to work around it instead of acknowledging that it's ridiculous.
10 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
That's not autistic, it seems thorough and efficient.
>>
Oh dear heavens we know.

Becoming an adult means your time has value. You'll leave all that teen tryhard mess about a distro being "too easy" about 3 hours into your first job. Arch soon-to-suicides are unemployable.
>>
>>55933774
Having a kernel whose RELEASE NAME is linux-grsec-4.6.5.201607312210 is autistic.
That goes in the version string not the name string.

You can get a 1080p/60fps/ultra machine for muuuch much lower than that.

I don't know what resolution you plan playing at, but that gtx 1080 is clearly overkill for 1080p.
Get an other case, you don't need such a huge monstrosity.
The rest in okay.

an you link me to a ultra machine you are talking about?. Yes i wll be playing in 1080p i want every thing on ultra and 60fps or above can i do this?.
>>
>>55933399
That build is okay. I don't see why it has a penny pinching Seasonic G series power supply though. With colossal budgets like that, you might as well get a Seasonic Platinum or PRIME.
