So what's the next step in phone technology? Wristwatch based holographic projector with a touch interaction, a piece connected to the head that uses brain waves to control the device, etc.?
>>55953469
Flexible screens, 3-4 inch which can roll out to 8 inch or somethink like that. As far as I remember flexible batteries exist too so yeah that.
digital assistants that aren't pure shit

Why though?
I just want a screen that's bright enough to clearly see when it's super sunny out. Current screens do OK, but not good enough, it's sunny almost every day here.
When you disable ads in the advanced settings in utorrent, do they really get disabled or just hidden from the ui?
don't use utorrent, it's garbage software.
use qbittorrent instead, it's almost identical but it isn't made by people who want to sell you.
>>55954047
What about transmission? It seems to be what utorrent used to be.

this device is shit, basically when pic related happens (firmware update fail), all you can do is throw this piece of shit in the garbage.
fitbit is nothing but a high-margin meme.
>Costs $10 to make
>Software is shit

totally agree, do you have any alternative suggestions with better software and quality? not a watch but a bracelet?

An ankle-worn device is going to be more accurate measuring steps than anything worn on your wrists.
I bought some older cell phones off an auction site to resell. One of them has a bad IMEI, listed as "lost/stolen"
What do I do with it?
>>55953392
demand refund and take it to the police.
Give it back, Shabryonice.
Install Gentoo, then give it back.
Since all the major torrent sites are shutting down right now and there's no good KAT alternative, why doesn't /g/ get together and make a KAT alternative.
If KAT's earnings are anything to go by, it could be quite profitable in the long run.

Why should i give a fuck when i can use search plugins with qbit?
>Intel fucked up 10nm and delayed it and put Kaby Lake in as replacement
>Kaby Lake is purely an energy upgrade with no performance gains or even worse, sacrifice performance for energy efficiency.
>AMD can barely meet Zen deadlines
>Zen is only slated to be on par with Haswell at best
>won't even compete with Intel's skylake from a year ago without OCing, which skylake will still beat
>can't even come close to Broadwell-e
This is really the great depression of CPUs
>>55953361
B-but 16 and 32 core Zen will save us!
>>55953399
Both are server cpus and will probably be priced out the ass. Not to mention they'll be clocked low as servers normally are.
I can bet you it'll be priced similar to current Opterons so expect the 16 core to be near $800.
>>55953461
I bet all my money that they make some crazy FX9590 shit again. 16 cores, 4GHz, 200W TDP, need MOBO from fucking titanium to run. Priced at 200-250

It's not like pirate radio, nobody cares. Moreover, you're wrong.
I am in the market for a new GPU, and I need to know whether an RX 470 or RX 480 would fit my needs.
I have two 4k monitors in extended display, with one being used for gaming @ 1080p or 1440p, with the other monitor to do stuff in between.
There is an MSI Radeon RX 480 Gaming X 8G that is available for pre-order and will be available August 30th, so I'll probably be able to get my hands on it sometime in mid September. Here is the link:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1271034-REG/msi_radeon_rx_480_gaming.html
There are also three 4GB RX 470s available right now on Newegg:
MSI Radeon RX 470: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137024&cm_re=MSI_Overclocked_470-_-14-137-024-_-Product
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX 470: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202229&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-Veeralava%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6202798&SID=
XFX Radeon RX 470: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150777&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-Veeralava%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=6202798&SID=
I can't really tell the difference between those three 470s, but from what I've read, the 480 isn't significantly better than the 470 for a $70-$90 price increase. My question is: which of those should I get? My intention is to keep the new card for at least 3 years, as that's how I've been with my previous cards.
>enough money for two 4k monitors
>wants to buy poorfag gpus
What's wrong with you anon
I'm running dual 980tis on my single 4k
Why would you even downscale resolution
>>55953289
using a single 290x for 4k gaming on a single monitor. I have two but didn't bother to put in the second yet
>>55953289
Why are you skimping out on the gpu when you've got 4k monitors
This might be too related to personal technology but I thought I'd ask here before I go further with my investigation.
Long story short I recently bought a premade desktop which is supposed to have an r9 370 gpu inside it. I happened to look at my amd settings and noticed pic related, that only a 200 series card is in my machine.
Before I go calling the retailer/manufacturer, is there any possibility that a 300 series could show up as a 200 series?

Why don't you open up the computer and look inside retard

Why does /g/ never talk about R?
It's such a beautiful language
this image compels me to learn vb
look, you know what the reason is
R is used for statistics and data analysis
/g/ is inhabited mostly by computer geeks, not scientists
No one on here is actually still using Sandy Bridge, right?
It's been almost 6 years now, time to upgrade poor fags.

How do you /g/eniuses use Linux as your daily driver?
>Steam is a buggy shit on Linux

>Hardware seems to run better on Windows and OS X

>Adding repos to your machine seems unsafe
>Only good OOTB distros are just as bloated as Windows
What the h*ck
Took me at most about a half-hour to setup a debian/dwm setup, complete with autistic anime setup and all. Then again it was a laptop so take that for what you will.
>>55953083
>games
Prepare to have a ton of angry NEET permavirgins tell you how much better they are than you.
But yes. Linux is a hobby OS. Only autists use it for anything other than servers.
OSX is far better as a development environment, and most games are developed for Windows.
>>55953083
>Steam is a buggy shit on Linux
try uninstalling IE and use steam on windows
>Blizzard games don't run on it
whew, glad im not 12 anymore. also wc3 and wow run on linux.
>Takes more effort than it should to get everything setup
sounds like you suck at settings things up or your expectations are too high
>Themes are old and dated
linux doesnt use themes. maybe try reading up on some things next time before installing ubuntu in a vm.
>Adding repos to your machine seems unsafe
just as unsafe as downloading shit via http. in fact, it is mostly just http(s)/ftp - except its signed by the people who manage your distribution.
>Only good OOTB distros are just as bloated as Windows
so you want features or you want a lean OS? which is it now? also debian 8 needs like 250mb installed. idk to which windows you could compare that. maybe 98.
What do you spend the most time doing on the net?
Majority of my data usage is streaming.
