Good morning /g/,

Is there any way to get this build down in price without compromising the quality and the silence?

The intel stock cooler is plenty quiet and you could go with a cheaper SSD. I doubt you'd notice the difference.

Sandisk make some nice budget ssd on mlc (SDSSDA-480G-G26, old version SDSSDA-480G-G25 are almost the same).

Can't say anything about adata or other budget ones, just look for good controller, and (preferably) mlc if possible, over tlc.

Check your boot order. It's not giving any errors? Is it just not even attempting to boot windows, or is windows failing to start?

No, this is not a thing yet, but ITT we discuss the next version of the Bitorrent protocol, or whatever protocol will replace it.

The current version of Bittorrent is not enough for today's demands. We are using an insecure, somewhat inefficient and tough to deploy protocol that requires indexers, sites, trackers, and other places to even be able to use the damn protocol.

What do we need a modern p2p protocol to do in order to pirate efficiently, independently, safely, and universally?

What applications does /g/ have installed on their phone!?

AnkiDroid for kanji
Clover for 4chan
F-Droid for open source applications
FBreader for reading .epubs
Firefox + uBlock Origin for web browsing
F.lux for using my phone in the dark at night.
K-9 Mail for emails
Mango for reading manga, I download them on my desktop then use it to read them because I can use the volume buttons to turn pages.
MuPDF for PDFs
Nova Launcher to replace the stock launcher.
Piktures to replace the stock gallery.
Snapchat for my trans girlfriend
Simple Explorer as my file manager
Steam for chatting with my trans girlfriend
Vanilla music for music
VLC for videos, MX Player isn't open source and it has ads...

>Leafpic
Open-source Gallery (also, as a canadian who shitposts on /pol/, I find the name quite amusing)
>Dashchan
using it 'till Clover gets an update
>Chromium
bleeding-edge browser
>WebView beta
>Lightning
For those times where I want a lighter browser, and when I'm running low on battery
>The whole microG suite, but with the original Google Play installed
Lighter on the phone's resources - and I'm still able to enjoy the benefits of Google's services
>Nova
I don't really rice, but I like the level of customization it allows me compared to Trebuchet
>Amaze
Light, open source file manager
>FLock
a tiny floating onscreen button that allows me to lock my phone just by pressing it; I use it to lengthen the life of my power button; can be found on F-Droid
>BlackPlayer
It's really a decent free player - if one of the best out of them. Foobar exists, but the UI and its' functionality pale in comparison with the desktop version.
I'd probably buy PowerAMP if I could pay.

Hello there! You seem to have used the term "open source".

This term was created by a group of people that did not want to be associated with the free software movement. When I say "free" software (one of the alternatives preferable to "open source"), it's not about price; in that case I would say "gratis", or "free as in free beer". It's about freedom! This is what the free software movement is fighting for.

So what is "free" software? Free software is any software that guarantees the user the four essential software freedoms:
> 0. Run the program as you wish.
> 1. Study the source code and change it so it does what you wish.
> 2. Redistribute exact copies of the program.
> 3. Distribute your modified version of the program.

Some people decided that they wanted to restrict the user; but being able to study and modify the "open source" code is not enough! This is directly hurting the cause of the free software movement because it takes away the sociological "freedom" aspect of free software and turns it into a technological issue.

So for those reasons I ask that, in the future, you use the terms "free", "free/libre" or, if necessary "FLOSS" (short for "free/libre and open source"), though the latter should still be avoided.

Where does /g/ find time to develop their skills?

>work as a structural engineer
>decent pay ~£40k @ 25 years old
>50 hour weeks
>go to the gym 4-5 times a week during my lunch break
>come home
>gf wants to 'chill' and fuck
>tells me I can do my 'computer shit' on the weekend
>she complains I don't spend enough time with her
>I choose to visit her with her parents on the weekend
>anon lets go sit in the park, don't worry its only like 6 hours and you can do your 'computer shit' in the evenings during the week

At this rate, all my programming and computer science learning shit I do on the side is crammed into my 40 minute commute in the morning and evenings.

Is it really that difficult for people to understand that you prefer to learn stuff than 'sit in the park sunbathing' for half the day?

Has anyone taken a micro-ATX desktop on a planeflight? In their carry on luggage?

I was thinking of making a bulid with this case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811205011&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

what do you think? Will TSA refuse to allow me to board with it?

No they probably won't, but they will check trough it. If you don't mind the extra ass rape then go ahead.

Also check the power outlets on the plane, they don't tend to be the same as the ones in houses. I couldn't even charge my laptop properly at one plane.
