the only thing I know about Soviet computer technology is that Tetris was invented there, so I assume they had decent-ish computers. but there are a couple of things I don't know.
did they have unique operating systems?
what programming languages were available to them?
how long did it take for new western computer technology to reach them?

After the end of USSR computers were widely available. I had my first 386SX in 1994. No CDROM or SoundBlaster of course. Keyboards also had en_EN layout. No WWW whatsoever but local BBS.

i feel much better walking for long periods than i do sitting, standing or laying down (not counting sleeping) and i can't take enough breaks to ease the pain. if i did, i wouldn't be able to get anything done.
i also have a part time job for ovee 15 years where i walk several hours per day no problem so i already know walking isn't a problem for me

and also working in retail is a poor comparison. if you had problems it was probably from lack of moving rather than walking. i've never seen a retail employee continuously walking for more than a few seconds at a time if you are you're not doing your job. if you were in pain it was probably from the standing part of it because you have to do a whole lot of that. walking from customer to customer or to get/stock things amounts to more standing that continuous movement. a treadmill desk is continuous movement which keeps the blood flowing. standing is hard on the muscles and the lack of movement createa insufficient blood flow as well the muscles contract all causing pain.
but i have no experience with an actual treadmill desk so i dunno.
What is the deal with everything free nowdays? Why aren't there paid options without forcing you to watch ads, getting other not even related software shoved in your face until you click no or spending hours for the minimum advance to be made (games)?
Is this the future you guys asked for?

Are we e10s yet? Yes we are.
Electrolysis (e10s) is experimental multi-process mode for Firefox. Right now it's available in the Aurora (Developer Edition) and Nightly update channels. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/developer/all/
To turn e10s on, open about:config and change layers.async-pan-zoom.enabled to true, and dom.ipc.processCount to a value greater than 1 (this is how many processes the browser will be allowed to spawn for your tabs, so make it 100+ if you have RAM to spare).
After you do that, restart Firefox. Now it will consume your RAM faster than Chrome!
Note for Firefox users: there is a slightly laggy compatibility layer for extensions that are not e10s-compatible. It's enabled by default; if you wish to turn it off and see which extensions stop working, change both extensions.e10sBlockedByAddons and extensions.e10sBlocksEnabling to false.
Note for AdBlock Plus users: APB is deprecated, use uBlock Origin instead. It works a lot faster, is e10s-compatible and has a lot more filters to choose from.
