>>55944784
soldering is fuckoing easy, if you need 'tricks' then your fucking useless and should just kill yourself
>>55944801
Yeah, I know but there are some fucking points to make your solder joint last longer. I'm asking about them.
TIN THE TIP, I REPEAT, TIN THE TIP.
>The BBC is to spy on internet users in their homes by deploying a new generation of Wi-Fi detection vans to identify those illicitly watching its programmes online.
>The corporation has been given legal dispensation to use the new technology, which is typically only available to crime-fighting agencies, to enforce the new requirement that people watching BBC programmes via the iPlayer must have a TV licence.
>"Detection vans can identify viewing on a non-TV device in the same way that they can detect viewing on a television set"Sir Amyas Morse, National Audit Office
>The disclosure will lead to fears about invasion of privacy and follows years of concern over the heavy-handed approach of the BBC towards those suspected of not paying the licence fee. However, the BBC insists that its inspectors will not be able to spy on other internet browsing habits of viewers.
>The existence of the new strategy emerged in a report carried out by the National Audit Office (NAO).
>It shows that TV Licensing, the corporation’s licence-fee collection arm, has developed techniques to track those watching television on laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
>The disclosure of the controversial new snooping technique will lay to rest the persistent claims that detector vans are no more than an urban myth designed to intimidate the public into paying the licence fee.
>Currently, anyone who watches or records live programming – online or on television – needs to buy a £145.50 licence. But from September 1, those who use the iPlayer only for catch-up viewing will also need to pay the fee, after the BBC successfully lobbied the Government to change the law.
>Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, the corporation is entitled to carry out surveillance of suspected licence-fee dodgers.

Why does the UK willingly submit to this?

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
Both of these are 4k monitors (3840x2160) with 10bit(8bit + A-FRC) panels with AMD freesync @60hz
the AOC monitor has a 1ms response time is 28" and has a TN panel and the LG monitor has a 5ms response time is 27" and has a IPS panel
The AOC is much easier to get and $529 vs $590 + shipping not available in this state(LG)
So my question is which monitor would you recommend for gaming?????
ausfag btw
>>55944622
obviously the 1ms tn panel. also, really getting a 4k monitor for gaming? I hope you have 1070/1080
>>55944647
got an r9 390x and i don't plan on having everything at fucken ultra so i should be fine right?
also thanks for the reply mang
>>55944685
I'm not sure if 27'' inch 4k is worth it. You'd have to be really close to it to notice a difference.
Also, notice that TN panel has less colour accuracy and worse viewing angels.
What does /g/ think of Yubrowser? Is it botnet?
Also general android browser thread
It sounds Japanese because of the "Yu" so we think it's good.
>>55944616
Of course it is botnet, you can't download it from F-droid
>>55944616
Yubrowser
Shouldn't it be
ExYubrowser ?
What is the better alternative with add on support? The latest version is so slow and chunky
make your own fork

Chrome
Opera
Vivaldi

Would if I could
Would stretching a 1080p video to full screen on a 4K/1440p monitor look (much) worse than watching the video in it's native size on a 1080p monitor, assuming the two monitors are the same size?
>>55944539
The 1440p might look off as 1080p doesn't multiply evenly into it.
4k will look the same AFAIK unless you have one of those smart scaling monitors that does some image enhancements when upscaling.
Depends on the scaling algorithm.
>>55944562
This makes sense. I don't know about the monitor itself scaling things but I playback with kcp if that's worth anything.
How can you trust repositories of smaller distros?
How can I bring myself to care?

Why the fuck does this do fucking nothing? Why is it even there?
>>55944456
>expecting proprietary software to do something good
Nope, it doesn't.
Because if it was removed there would be outrage so instead they just leave it there and nobody realizes it does fucking nothing.
Who the hell cares? People who actively participate in YouTube comment threads are the lowest common denominator retards of the internet.
Sup /g/

What's /g/ overall opinion on the idea of pocket sized computers?
I know they were a thing in the past, in the form of UMPCs, did you liked then back then? Did you got to use one at all? I personally never did, but I've always found the idea of a fully featured PC that fits in your pocket pretty attractive.
A lot of people tell me that smart devices have rendered such idea useless, but I still think that there's many things my desktop can do merely thanks to the OS it runs that my phone can't do, and that a tablet couldn't do. Not to mention the need to purchase software separely for Android, or god forbid, iOS devices.
>>55944449
>inb4 buying software
Pocket sized computers running desktop software is a terrible idea for a number of reasons, from the lack of power and problems with heat dissipation to the obvious software issues. We can barely make the websites responsive; adaptation of a desktop OS to the smaller screens is a much harder task.
The closest think to "UMPC" these days are the small Windows tablets.
I think they're great, personally. I always wanted one and when I bought a Vaio UX-380N it was hype.
I had to part with it, though, because it was way too outdated to do anything cool with when I bought it. By the time I got rid of it my Windows tablet had assumed all its functionality.
WHERE THE FUCK IS MY TRACKMANIA TURBO FOR MAC!?!?!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>55944347
Porting stuff to Mac is a pita. They haven't updated OpenGL in donkeys years, metal sucks, and 90% of the machines are so crap they'll barely run modern stuff at 10fps unless you crank everything down super low quality.
shit game
