The guy who created GIF said he intended it to be "jif," but that it's okay either way. The only "fucking morons" are idiots like you who make stupid non-arguments like "he's not a linguist" (as if you need to be a linguist to coin a term), or "the G stands for graphics, therefore it should be a hard G in the acronym" despite the fact that you probably say "jay peg" instead of "jay feg"
