Alright /g/ I'm not the most technical person by any means. But here I go.
My grandmother got herself a tablet she found at a local store for $30. It is a Visual Land Prestige 10". Overall its pretty shit, but she wants a tablet so she can plays games and such. For simplicity sake I'm trying to just download google play and run the thing as any normie would.
I've been following this guide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_835130&feature=iv&src_vid=ldqzwWTdUtY&v=HKv_qDIjGk4 and for the most part had no issues. I got the drivers installed and the tablet rebooted just as the guide said. However as soon as it went to turn on, all the google services stopped working, I try to open google play and it stops working as well
Has anyone played around with this tablet, or can anyone pin point what I fucked up on and help through that. I'm willing to factory reset and try something else if need be.

What is fingerprinting?
Fingerprinting is a new way of tracking you across websites, it's not theoretical, it's being done right now by companies like Google.
Why is it scary?
Because unlike cookie based tracking you can't defeat it just by disabling cookies.
There is currently NO FOOLPROOF DEFENCE against fingerprinting.
Attempts have been made but the technology is just too new.

This means that the majority of 4chan users could be being fingerprinted, and Google might know about your shitposting habits.
To fix this you can get a pass (which allows you to be tracked by 4chan in a different way), or run 4chan with the no JavaScript CAPTCHA (use 4chan X to make 4chan without JS bearable).

Daily reminder to do all your Facebook / Youtube / LinkedIn / botnet shit in a completely separate browser to your Googling or buying shit.
It's currently the ONLY way to truly defend against fingerprint tracking.
Double points if you have each browser running in a different VM with a different OS.
Triple points if you have each browser's VM configured with a different VPN.
The Tor Browser Bundle is still susceptible to many fingerprinting attacks that can uncover your true OS and browser.
Spoofing your user-agent is counterproductive unless you use a different user-agent for every site, even if you rotate them every x HTTP requests.

Hey guys, I got an Ipad air for my birthday and I was wondering if you guys could recommend some fun/interesting/useful things to do with it. I've never really needed one but it seems like a fun toy.

I'm thinking maybe some educational music programs to start.

So I've got around $300 to spend on a new phone now that my current phone is long overdue for replacement (SGS2). I have spent a few hours looking at forums and videos trying to decide between getting a used LG G4 or a used SG Note 4. I plan on rooting whatever I get to remove bloat, increase battery life, custom rom...blah blah blah. I just cannot come to a decision over which is actually the better buy.

I do not use my current phone for internet usage. The only thing I really do is read ebooks. I'm not into mobile gaming via phone but I do plan on picking up Pokemon GO (because society says I should). Both phones can be found for ~$200. price is a factor and the less I spend the better it will be. It seems like the G4 can be found for cheaper and I'm not sure if that's a good sign. If the Note has something that justifies the price I'd love to go with that. I'm just looking for opinions. Also if anyone has a phone recommendation besides thouse two I'd love to hear it.

Got myself a pair of car speakers, want to convert them into desktop speakers.

They're 130w each, does it matter what amp I use as long as I keep it below the rated wattage?
Tested it with a 10w chink amp and at max volume it was starting to sound a wee bit distorted. Was that caused by the amp being shitty or the speakers being shitty?

Best cost effective desktop / components for programming compile speed?

I need to display two 1440p monitors, at 60fps max settings playing League of Legends.

also if you could run a cpu and gpu stress test for about 30 minutes and tell me if your gpu will fluctuate between 175mhz and 700mhz I'd appreciate it.
I'm going to measure gpu clock speed and temp using msi afterburner. What numbers are good? I'm going to be getting my thinkpad in the mail later.
