Last night was backing up at 80bmps average, while browsing/shitposting/listening to music
Now i get this bullshit while the entire pc has slowed to a crawl at the same time, just opening firefox took 3 fucking minutes to load this page and no other tabs, music keeps skipping and took 5 minutes just to load the player and 5 songs. fucking usb3 was tranfering at 40mb instead of this bullshit, what the fuck happened?

is there a way to combine partitions? teh western digital drive clone made it so my C drive is onyl 232, but its a 1tb drive
>>56153323

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/resize-a-partition-for-free-in-windows-vista/
now delet dis
>>56153323
You can shrink and grow partitions depending on file system.
>>56153356
well, I tried that once before but it wouldn't let me for some reason. the main reason I'm trying to figure out is because I'm trying to download a 10GB folder from mega, but it either freezes at 36% or just says out of offline storage space, which I tried deleting cookies but it kepps jappening. working on bringing up tha partition thiny again maybe that'll help unless it wants to format
What's up /g/, been a while since I've come here, hopefully you aren't a dedicated shitposting board like the rest of the site.
I just bought a new TV and need some advice on what streaming box is the best or the what's the best way to not have to pay for cable while still getting everything I need to watch. Are the Roku/Amazon Fire boxes worth it?
>>56152936
Apple TV, it just werks
>>56152936
install gentoo
>>56152936
Rokus are good, the Fire is awesomely fast, but overall meh because of how heavily they push their own expensive media store.
Have you checked into the Shield at all?

I'm looking to spend about $2K on a new gaming machine, but this is looking hard to turn down. Being able to carry the damn thing with me, and plunk it down at my desk and have a real workstation with serious business graphics is.. wow.
Why should I not buy this?
>>56152815
Why not a desktop and a netbook instead? Should be cheaper.
If you want portable, aren't there laptops with a gtx 1060 within your budget?
>>56152859
If you want portable gaming*
>>56152815
Because it's all the same machine in this case.
Price/specs:
$1999
256G SSD
14' QHD screen
Geforce 970M
16G DDR4/2133
~6 hours battery
I throw another $300, and that basically gets me a desktop.
What's the best thermal paste? I want to improve cooling in my laptop and I think it's best to start with changing the paste to something much better than the cheap shit manufacturers usually use.
I'd like to say no budget, but I get the feeling there's some top notch insane expensive pastes out there so I'd like to keep it below ~20 aud if possible. I'll only need one application though(one for gpu, one for cpu though) so even a 1g tube will be plenty.
wtf i hate arctic silver 5 now

So is that a no?
Hi /g/
Been lurking for a few months and how do I into code? It seems pretty interesting and I've been on codeacademy for the past few days learning http and it's fairly easy to get into. Is there a better way to learn?
>>56152514
Easiest way? Learn python. Despite what you're going to hear here, it's a real language that people use to do real-world things. It's also very easy to learn.
Better way? Learn C/C++. There's a steeper learning curve, but it will force you to learn better practices that you can take with you wherever you go.
>>56152605
Alright cool, now do you know anything about the site I'm using? It seems pretty straight forward and I think they have both languages on there so I think I should be okay no?
I used CodeAcademy to learn a little Python, and it's good to learn some of the syntax, but a class on Udemy or a programming book will be so much more helpful to do real life projects.
What's your total screen resolution /g/?
Mine just got a little bigger today.
>>56152396
pretty sweet man.
what monitor you have? i trust the taste of anyone who likes s;g too
>>56152432
Two monitors - got this one today:
https://smile.amazon.com/Acer-R240HY-bidx-23-8-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B0148NNKTC/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471572938&sr=1-2&keywords=monitor
and had this one since November of 2015
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B009C3M7H0/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
That asus is the best monitor I've ever used. Ever. The brightness or contrast is slightly different between the two monitors, but I adjusted it enough to make it not bother me. Would recommend triple monitor setup w/ that asus model I linked. Super amazing.
This acer I got is pretty good too.
>>56152473
thanks I will keep this in my bookmarks. if you ever need a working monitor ratio i suggest 16:10

is it just me or was this fucking stupid?
it's listed as front end.
Consider the following.
There never was a permanent job.
They're retarded
but it still shouldn't have taken a week.
>>56152251
They wanted to pay you front end money for back end work.
Hey /g/, just set up a desktop for the guest room of my home.

Anyone try this Firewall by Evorim? Is it any good? I'd try it but I've never heard of them and don't want to become part of some German botnet.
http://www.evorim.com/en/free-firewall
Oh and what firewalls do you guys use, I'm rocking Comodo's free firewall, but I can't help feel it's bloat what with all the HIP, AV, Sandbox, Geekbuddy, Facebook, Twitter, Puke attached when all I was is a damn firewall.
>>56151701
the only acceptable answer to cyber security is NOD32 ®

Anyone know which Linux distro is pretty lite, lighter than Ubuntu.
Main reason for asking: running Android Emulator/creating apps and doing other code related projects

Debian

Debian/Devuan netinstall.

debian makes life a pain for newbies
if you don't like ubuntu's weight, xubuntu would be a little better
arch is also a pain, but a pain to install instead of later.
