You can buy a laptop with a 940m and 1080p for less than $700 easy and then you have 2 machines

and you can easily fit in a superior 1080p 144hz free-sync display for around + $220 atm

You know they're putting desktop Pascal chips in laptops now and slightly decreasing the clocks. You'll get way more bang for your buck if you wait like a month for those to come out. For $2000 you can probably get a laptop with a GTX 1080 that will blow like 90% of desktops out of the water.
