Does anyone know how to configure
SIEMENS Smart 700 6AV6 648-0AC11-3AX0?
First thing you need to do is install gentoo
>>56158824
More info!! what do you want to do with it? Write a visualisation in WinCC? Configure the Profibus port?
>>56158954
I want to write a visualisation in WinCC
Is this shit safe to use? I mean, this thing is exposure to the whole internet, what are chances that all the files will be stolen?
>>56158758
>>56158758
>I mean, this thing is exposure to the whole internet
What ?
>>56158758
>written in PHP
highly likely
>>56158758
>this thing is exposure to the whole internet,
only if you allow it to
>what are chances that all the files will be stolen?
unless you have some sort of highly importance job i'd say the risk is quite low
Is this really that secure, or is it just not popular enough for anyone to bother hacking it?
>>56158737
Both
You could say it's secure in a lot of ways.
>>56158737
It's not really secure.
1. Nothing really works in BSD
2. *BSDs have ports and thus many Linux applications are ported to FreeBSD or OpenBSD
3. Ports are unaudited, so there goes all the "good code practice" meme
4. OpenBSD has no drivers, it's only good for routers
Don't fall for shitty memes
>>>/bsd/
>>56158737
OpenBSD has tons of mitigations. Something that would compromise Linux would only crash openbsd
Why is CS so hard? I honestly can't comprehend anything past programming itself.

Pleb here
Currently got a 770, 8 gigs of RAM and an i72600k (yeah I know)
Which of these 1070's would give me the best value for my money/future proof etc
>>56158516
ASUS cards have become pretty fucking awful over the past few years.
I'd either get a MSI gaming x or Gigabyte G1, probably the MSI bc dat twinfrozr design.
>>56158516
>and an i72600k (yeah I know)
what are you implying?
2600k is an awesome cpu
>>56158872
>>56158516
adding onto that, if gaming at 120/144hz i'd look into upgrading your CPU.
Hi all,
I just want to know if copiers have the ability to (covertly) send copies of all of what has been copied on them to their parent companies ??
For example: I photocopy a document on said copier, can this document that has been copied end up with Canon / Ricoh ??
>>56158508
Its not impossible if it has networking capabilities
It is very much possible
Those printers already send usage info to parent companies
Every device you own does that.
Defend this
>not using ubuntu mate
What is there to defend? If you don't like the Amazon search thing in Unity then just use another DE.
>>56158493
You autists still whining about that? You know it can be turned off with one button in settings right?
Go back to using your meme distro with no drivers and broken packages.
Yes, we know everything already is from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

I made the other OP and couldn't agree more. Thanks for making a proper one.
As a counter to the mysterious German fingers' repetitive anti shark posting, I thought I'd share with you the test results from my 64GB card that arrived yesterday.

MDN:
> A function's this keyword behaves a little differently in JavaScript compared to other languages.
> In most cases, the value of this is determined by how a function is called.
I did not know this language was objectively bad.

Let me guess, first website after learning node at coding camp?
fun.call(this, ...args)
But yes, JS is a piece of shit.
You're a piece of shit too for blogging here.
>>56158426
Pretty much everything "behaves a little differently in JavaScript compared to other languages" because it's a steaming pile of fucking shit designed in literally 10 days.
>>56158470
JS consists of nothing but quirks waiting to blow up in your fucking face at runtime. There is no other language that bad. Even PHP is the definition of sanity and good design in comparison.
Ignoring all the AMD vs Intel buttmad wars.
What happened to CPUs?
What has gone so horribly wrong that a 5 year old i5 or i7 is just FINE today?!
I remember when I got my Pentium MMX it was fucking outdate 2 years later and I had to get a Pentium III and then an Athlon XP and then a Athlon 64 X2 and then a Core 2 Quad and then a i7 2600k and then?!?!
What the fuck.
>>56158301
Dude, this is nothing new.
If you upgraded from a q6600 to an i5 750 it's as much of an upgrade as going from an i5 2500 to an i5 6600.
Maybe you should consider that something went really well last jump and Focus on that. Instead you decide "it wasn't as good as last jump therefore it is 'horribly wrong'". It's stupid Logic and it's a terrible perspective to have.
>>56158316
Also lately the focus has been more towards power consumption. You get 2w atoms that'll match an e7400 in cpu performance, you get a 54w i3 6100 which trades blows with a 95w i5 2500

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.
*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***
Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].
If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

Any competent browsers with good memory management?
I'm really digging firefox. Think it's about the same usability as chrome but with a nicer design and no botnet. But is there any similar browser that doesn't break down if I have more than 8 tabs open? FF can't handle multiple tabs for shit.
>>56157980
abp and ns give back a lot of performance.
>>56157980
i almost never have less than 20 tabs open in firefox and everything is just fine.
are you blocking ads/tracking? you should be, makes some pages a lot faster.
>>56157980
Opera.
No botnet either.
Hi guys, so my PC started behaving a bit strange.
On cold boots it would refuse to post, or half post and die. On one occasion I got into Windows and the system hung.
The strange thing is this issue will rectify itself if turned off for a few minutes then trying again.
I initially thought ram could be a culprit so I ran memtest when the PSU was in a working state and it came back passed with no errors.
I then got a PSU tester which revealed that the Power Good signal was outputting only 10ms, which should be 100ms or greater from my initial research. Sure enough after waiting a couple minutes and booting again the PSU tester registered 300ms for Power Good, which would be normal.
Im now wondering if this is enough to determine a faulty PSU or if the local grid may be at fault or overloaded at peak times (PSU gasping for air on first few boots).
The other figures are within the manuals tolerance.
Thoughts guys? I'm pulling my fucking hair out.
install gentoo
>>56157912
Change the battery on the mobo.
>>56157940
Shouldn't have anything to do with it considering the PSU tester noticed the issue without the mobo connected
