What do you think of Microsoft Edge?

I don't.

Why is Microsoft declining?
Back in the days they used to impress people with good software. Are they interested in hiring shills more than programmers these days?
You know it when you see Microsoft tries to compensate the lack of customers' interest with political moves such as intel/lenovo deals.
They are so desperate they are
>giving away windows 10 for free
>taking adware approach to force people to install windows 10
>locking down CPU vendors to run windows 10 only
>build powerful computer
>do everything to keep cpu and ram usage low
>buy Intel computer
>install Windows 7
>buy computer more powerful than the ones used to send people to the moon
>dont go to moon
>>57188743
>use more power than required to send a man to the moon to watch chink cartoons in 1080p

Are those trade schools that teach you to code really as good as they say? They claim to teach you the practical parts of coding instead of BS like making essays and scientific methods. But are they all a waste of time and money? Do you learn enough?
http://archive.is/iMnTU
Self-teaching is the best way.
You dont need a pricey code school but only the internet to learn to code. and even if you pay a fortune to get a grasp at syntax and semantics of some meme language there is still a 99% chance that you cant actually write anything useful. If you have what it takes to be a decent coder you dont need a school for it.

How will you convince employers to hire you without a certificate?
I have a lenovo thinkpad edge e520 that detects thrid party batteries and refuses to charge them. Lenovo no longer sells batteries for my model, would this one be a good replacement?
(my current battery from china got detected after 6 months of using and is now useless )
>>57188597
Yes.
OP here, dumbass me forgot to include the link

are you using stock os? if chink one got detected, this replacement will probably got detected too
I'm restarting my image collection and am wondering if I should strictly save as .png for quality.
Is there any substantial benefit to saving as .jpg over .png, in the long-term, over multiple copyings? I know .png is larger, but disc space isn't any issue- my previous collection barely took up a few gigabytes. I suppose the biggest question is which will degrade quicker over multiple copyings and savings.
I'll mostly be saving paintings and anime art, if that makes any difference.
Sorry if this is an inane question, but the normalfag answers I found seemed to recommend .jpgs only because .pngs are larger.

>degrade
Ummm, m80, got some bad news for ya...

>Should I save low quality compressed images or higher quality images

Ummm... I don't know OP. Maybe you should shoot yourself.
>>57188575
>I know .png is larger
No you don't. It depends on the image - if you have fields of the same color in your image then PNG has a good chance of being smaller than JPEG.
But if there are some more complex structures in the image - say, a human face, or a city, or basically everything IRL - then JPEG is going to be smaller.
It depends on the image. Limiting yourself to one image type is retarded.

Is there a worse feeling in the world?
USPS is all affirmative action hires. I have lost 1 package with them and 5 have said I never answered the door despite I was home all day looking out the window for them. The workers also just toss the package on the front porch sometimes leaving it there for anyone to steal it.
>>57188629
I used USPS to send stuff I sold on eBay. Two weeks after I sent a package get a message guy never got his package. Check tracking, it's been sitting in the origin facility the whole time. I call USPS and tell them to fix this. All of a sudden my package is moving.
By the way if you google this issue it's super common with USPS.

hi guys,
so I've got this kindy crappy laptop and I wanted to use GNU/Linux because windows10 obviously is an unusable pile of crap. I've wanted to have a minimal distro but I didn't want to compile everything myself (manily because my CPU sucks) yet I wanted to have access to bleeding edge software. Thus, I've decided to try Arch. The installation went smoothly and so did setting everything up (and this is coming from a lifelong wintoddler). I've installed Cinnamon because I don't know shit about the different DEs. everythingjustwerkz.jpg
Thanks guys for advocating Arch, I've been using it for a week now and it's really comfy and customizable. My questions:
1. Which DE / WM (what's the difference even?) should someone who mainly programs and uses the internet use with shitty hardware? A friend of mine suggested i3 but I'm unsure.
2. Why can't I press PrtSc and then use Ctrl-V in GIMP? It always says "there is no image data in the clipboard to paste". And yes, I know about Create>Screenshot but that's more mouse clicks.
3. I've installed pacaur to handle AUR packages (I think that's what it does at least). When I type "sudo pacaur -Syu" does it hence also update all AUR packages? Since AUR implies compiling it yourself, does it use incremental compiling? Asking because my laptop took three hours to compile Pale Moon.
4. I've installed clang via pacman and, even though LLVM 3.9.0 is out for almost two months now, it still is 3.8.1. How can I get 3.9.0 or, even better, a 4.0.0 snapshot, that automatically updates itself wth pacman?
This may fit better in /sqt/ or /fglt/ but it's such a wall of text that I've decided to make an own thread.
i3
