VS Code
>Microshit
Sublime Text
>Butt ugly ui
>bloated
Nano
>does what I want it to rather simple to learn
why the fuck do you want features in a text editor? if it edits text and has pretty much what is considered the bare essentials these days why give a fuck?
>>57188209
Let me rephrase myself
Why the fuck isn't there a single good ide
I'm happy with vim. Stay grumpy OP :^)

>>57188216
Well I've been using netbeans for almost a decade, again just like nano it does everything I want and is rather simple compared to alternatives
>text editor
>doesn't edit text as much as it edits code
>more worthless elements for editing code shitting up my UI for a program i want to use for editing large texts rather than some codemonkey shit
Why can't people use correct terminology these days?
There should be a clear distinction made between "text editor" and "code editor".

>vim
>takes "days" to install

nano is god tier but it has a ton of features. Just because you don't use them doesn't mean they're not there.
ed might have been a better example for feature-light editors.
What's wrong with gedit?
>>57188744
It's ridiculously basic and doesn't have the addon support of emacs or vim or the built-in features of sublime
>>57188199
