So I've finished up a LFS a few months ago and just recently done it for the raspberry pi to get an always online shell for when I'm on mac/windows at work. My question is this, how complex would it be to build a wget list orientated distro (or as barebones as possible) to simply start steam in big picture mode and play games like a console? Would continuing through BFLS be worth my time?

It's mostly for learning purposes and to take up a box I've had unchanged since 2010 that can take an alright 7850 I've lying about. I doubt it will get any real attention once I'm finished

Who the hell would even recommend these?
It works better for some people depending on how you use them, they work best when both outlets are on the same circuit.

If you are not retarded these things are pretty good. Using them in my apartment and never had issues.
I bet your home's electrical installation is just dogshit
Answer: Depends on your needs. To some, Windows or macOS is the complete solution because "it just works." In their notion, everything else, namely open source/free source, "sucks" because it cannot be easily configured or they don't have the time to fiddle with it - "the learning curve is too steep." But what "sucks" to some is actually what makes open source/free source interesting to other people. If the system doesn't pose a challenge to these people, if it doesn't break and they cannot fix it themselves because it's closed-source, it's boring, therefore "sucks."

I had a dual boot with win 10 and Ubuntu however I deleted the Ubuntu partition on Windows 10 last night and now when I turn my pc on it goes into grub rescue. How do I fix this, I don't want Ubuntu installed anymore. Any way to fix this without installing Ubuntu again?
>>57187763
GIYF, mate.
As far as I know, you just need a windows rescue disc.

For a total noob like me, what IDE do you recommend? Am I falling for a meme using Visual Studio?
VS is fine
>>57187738
>caring about your IDE

>>57187738
depends completely on the language and platform.
Windows C++, C# etc. VS is best. IntellIJ is probably best for Java.
if you use various languages and platforms and don't want to swap between IDEs, Emacs or vim are the best, but they have a steep learning curve and setting up an environment takes time.

You are among a sea of neets, chinks, and Indians that will ALWAYS undercut you.
Get into start ups, and get really good at doing one thing. That's the only way to do something good.
Or you could always accept a lower wage and go into a big company then move on to project management.

I run a small computer shop in Australia, and I was thinking of creating a range of Linux-based laptops as an alternative to Windows. What is the most aesthetically pleasing, yet resource light distro that is relatively easy to use.
Most people will say Ubuntu or any of its derivitives because it's more suited towards winfags. But I want my customers to have a single application that contains new software (chrome, Spotify, etc) without having to download .deb's or manually add repositories.
That's why I'm thinking of using arch, which relies upon one place - the AUR.
I was thinking of antergOS, which is an installer of Linux that comes with a desktop environment out of the box, and all the apps you choose to be default apps. I was gonna skin xfce to be as good looking as gnome, without sacrificing battery life or resources.
My only problem is finding a suitable GUI for arch or (antergOS) so that the average person can install packages.
I know deepin has a great store app, but the security is questionable, with really high resource use from the desktop environment alone.
What do you guys reckon I should try? Open to any suggestions.
wats wrong with gnome software center
>>57187552
Sorry I meant - I need to find a suitable GUI for pacman, or a program that translates basic user interaction into terminal commands for pacman (essentially an App Store for AUR)
>>57187562
No chrome, Spotify, or direct installations of Windows apps (run through wine) - but without wine setup and debugging. All of this is available in the AUR, but there's no GUI. Also, often have to delete log files every few weeks as the logs get interrupted (I can provide Ubuntu-forums threads which people complain about this common issue).
My ultimate wish, gnome software centre with access to AUR packages and tar.gz installation capability.
>inb4 chrome is a botnet
The average consumer doesn't give a fuck - what does make them give a fuck is when they complain to me 'whys my chrome blue' for installing chromium
What are your honest opinions on the Motorola Moto G4 Plus?
>>57187475
Unoptimised software, Ugly fingerprint scanner which can't be bound to any other functions. The Moto G series has went worse since Lenovo took over.

It doesn't look bad if you theme it, but performance and stability are a bit fucky for everyday use.
