/g/ - thanks for existing
You lads simply by existing have shown me how good linux can be in comparison to windows, and how superior arch is to ubuntu or other debian-based distributions. Simply by lurking here and making/replying to a few threads, I've been able to figure out whats best for me and my mates who i'm gonna introduce to Linux.
Thanks all of you and hopefully one day we should all see the death of proprietary software :^)
pic above probably isnt arch, just an XFCE setup I like - will be installing arch soon
You probably never tried Debian itself.
The great power of stableness, support and flawlessness would blind you, novice arch user!
Lol enjoy playing games on "Linux" with its suboptimal drivers

Stallman or Torvalds? (Or Poettering)

Stallman is an arrogant communist hippie.
Don't know why he is the face of /g/
>>57215977
Yeah. Poettering should be.
Google uses Alligators, Iris scanners & hidden lasers under the floor to protect there/our data.

I have an old rpi 1 model B. I bought 4 16gb SD cards, one for my media center, one with RetroPie, two with Raspbian, one for ricing in openbox and the other one for torrenting. Just pick a project from Google and do it.
>>57216828
>tfw my rpi1-B can't power both a wifi dongle and an external HDD
Goddamn useless gadget
Is there a way to make an old router repeat wifi signal just like android uses the "hotspot" option?
I looked up WDS but that requires changing settings on the other router and I don't want that.
My old router is a Thomson TG585 V7 if that helps
Nice titties but she looks like a druggie.
>>57215792
>Is there a way to make an old router repeat wifi signal just like android uses the "hotspot" option?
I think you're confused about what the hotspot option in Android is.
Also, yes. Flash something like OpenWrt on your router.
>>57215792
If the router doesn't support repeating by default
Try seeing if you can load OpenWRT onto it.
Ok lads, gonna learn some stuff and maybe get a job in IT
P.S.: I study at a orthodox theology college, I went to priests highschool and I come from a family of priests & I believe that religion is cancer. It made more bad than good over the years and stopped people from evolution.
>>57215719
Install TempleOS
>>57215746
I use Ubuntu 16.04.
>>57215719
Ok, best of luck. It's a long hard road but you can do it if you apply yourself.
P.S.: You can't enter into Heaven without accepting Jesus Christ as your savior.

I bought this server for $135, I already had the GPU. It came with Ethernet and fiber cards. I'm using a wireless router as a NIC.

>geekbench
>geekbench gpu test
Why not pick a more worthless benchmark while you're at it?
>>57215714
Oh and I'm using an external USB sound card that I got for $15
That's about $10 too much for chinkshit but I had to get something on the same day
>beta bitches scared of getting btfo by my superior price/performance
Understandable for low-test, betas
I don't even know any programming, (I am just a regular wageslave) but I was looking for an excuse to start this as my hobby anyways. At least I'll be contributing to the Linux community.
I absolutely HATE the gtk file chooser widget. I want to do something KDE did to the Qt file picker. So basically I want to write a widget that
1. INTERCEPTS gtk file chooser calls at a very low level and prevents the file chooser from opening
2. Open my own written file chooser widget instead (which will have almost ALL the functionality of a file manager like PCmanFM)
3. Returns the file directory.
4. Optionally, I would like to make my file picker work with KDE as well.
Where the FUCK should I start? Any ideas on how I accomplish step 1, 2 and 3? I know a bit of python but that's not relevant here.
Lastly FUCK you GNOME and FUCK your incompetent """devs""" for making the new nautilus.

Any of you guys have any experience with lucid dreams? Or anyone bought anything designed to improve/induce lucid dreaming? Found this Kickstarter just recently and got curious.
>>57215634
I am trying for some time now and had about ~5 lucid dreams, last one in this month.
The key is dedication; write down your dreams in as much detail as possible. Do this consistently and also ask yourself over the day "am i dreaming".
Also ama
>>57215634
I'll be happy if this thing works
I have some doubts though, and it's ridiculously expensive
>>57215654
OP here, I've been trying, but can never seem to remember my dreams, it sucks

Nothing wrong with closing Command Prompt with Alt+F4.
Unless you're talking about a terminal. In which case you're the one at fault here.

Debian

Fedora

Well it would actually install if you got the fucking .iso for Jessie AND not try to run it on a fucking toaster/spacecraft
>>57215525
It's an amd64 laptop with i5 and intel gpu
I'm actually deleting Debian right now because it is impossible to get the firmware for my wireless card any more and Ubuntu apparently just werks with it. So I'll agree.

tfw i have never pirated photoshop or office since i used gimp and got word 2007 with my 3rd PC and used openoffice/libreoffice before/later
