As a system admin who has just moved to north america and been caught off guard with just how many positions require osx experience.
Is a mac mini the easiest way of getting good experience with osx? I'd end up using it for torrenting as well as some email and ftp services but I'm debating between a mini and an old mcp.

Just use Arch Anywhere, it's Arch with a graphical installer. How well your PC will actually run depends on what DE you use, most computers will run well with XFCE or LXDE.

What are your thoughts on this future /g/?
Just watched the first of the six new episodes. It was pretty accurate in my opinion. Most of the people are already using Facebook/Instagram/etc. so everybody would actually just accept such a feature.
It would be the dominant, therefore the norm, while the "others" like me and you would be the outliers.
Strangely enough, though, we would be the ones developing the technology, not the popularity consumers.
