Hey /g/. Just found a massive torrent of books (516GB) with many different books. I usually just use my phone or computer to read pdfs/e-books. But I was thinking of picking up a solid e-reader and toss a 512GB SD card in there and using that to read my books from now on. Is it worth?
What's /g/'s preferred e-reader? If you guys care for them at all.
This is the magnet for the torrent btw. Please seed.

Bump, I have a similar need
I don't think ereaders support 500gb cards

Hello, anons. I have never posted on this board before and am hoping for some good feedback on this. I'm not largely into computers or anything but my current laptop at college is no longer going to cut it after this semester as I am an architecture major and I need to be running programs such as Autocad, Revit, Photoshop, Sketchup, etc. My current budget for a laptop is $1500 or less, no higher. Right now I am looking at an Asus Zenbook Pro 15.6" screen, intel i7 core processor, touchscreen, 16 gb memory, 516gb SSD. I would prefer SSD over HDD but I am listening to all opinions and thoughts on this as I hope to make the right choice. Also Mac is not an option and a lot of colleagues use Asus R.O.G. as their choice but I dislike how bulky and unprofessional is looks. I really need advice so I can get the right thing. Thank you guys in advance.

Buy a thinkpad....install gentoo.
>>57226388
what is gentoo?
https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/
So /g/, what's your excuse for not using the latest version of the most useful Linux distribution there is, which is undoubtedly Ubuntu?
And don't give me MUH DE because you can install whatever DE (or none at all) with Ubuntu. What you get for using Ubuntu is God-tier support for latest software (its software repository is the largest of all distros) and at the same time stability.
>the most useful Linux distribution
>not gentoo
is it rolling release?
Antergos has more update to date software.
QUESTION: At my school today , somone remotely took control of another students computer and controlled his mouse , he was able to bypass the firewall on the search engines and look up inappropriate stuff , HOW DID HE DO IT ?

mstsc, if he knew the hostname of the other computer and their username/password
A lot of schools use content filtering to block website access, which can be defeated by HTTPS if it's done incorrectly.

EXPLAIN THIS SHIT
Modern websites are so bloated that you need standalone software to run them with less overhead on weaker machines
well how else are they supposed to read your contacts/gps/credit card/DNA?
>>57226108
They're not know about WebAssembly.
I have an idea. How about one of you computer whizzes create an alternative to FB; one that doesn't profit from corporate ads or the use of privacy invasion. An idea would be through crowdfunding(donate a minimum of $5/month. I mean, if video game developers can raise 1 million through crowd funding why cant we? I say this because of the recent wikileak emails show how Zuckerberg and the COO were pushing Clinton for an audience to determine ways to censor free speech from Facebook. I for one would be enthralled and eager to pay $5 dollars a month knowing my privacy is protected.
Wouldnt work for the same reason you cant make your own ISP. Facebook would shut you down with scummy business tactics
Why would normies care about it? Facebook isn't about privacy. It's about sharing your entire life with others.

hey fags, Linux gamer here
Just reached my season goal of Platinum 5 in League of Legends... on Linux (that's right).
Now that I'm done with the hardcore stuff, I'm gonna drink some Green Tea, chill and play Super Tux
what's that? You don't have Super Tux on Windows?
Oh, that's too bad. It's a Linux exclusive. Stay cucked, you losers
>>57225980
Anon, you seem pretty cool. Wanna play some GTAV with me?
Oh.
>>57225980
Supertux recently go an in-game level editor, it's pretty cool:

I think supertuxkart developers are working on a track editor too but i don't know when will be available.

>>57225980
>It's a Linux exclusive.
I have never tried it on windows but AFAIK supertux is available for multiple platforms nad being open source it allows the possibility to be ported even if not:
https://supertux.github.io/download.html
IHMO supporting exclusivity it's shooting ourselves in the foot, not saying it's necessarily a bad thing but in general i see a multi-platform approach as an advantage because i don't want to depend on one platform to use a piece of software.
Hello I am hacker man. I am using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB with all telemetry and windows botnet features disabled. (Windows cannot spy on corporations using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB).
I am using an encrypted dark net VPN, which tunnels through my virtual boxed PfSense + Snort Intrusion Detection System.
The server that runs BSD and PfSense, automatically begins when my computer starts up. So the procedure of connecting to the virtual machine server, so that I can then have internet is automatic.
So I have a corporate-tier firewall AND I have a nologs, encrypted traffic VPN.
No skid is going to hack me.
guys the idiot posted his ip 192.168.1.1 get him
>>57225960
No, that's the common router IP. Most routers use 192.168.1.1. It's not my external IP. You would require my external IP to begin the process of scanning my network for vulnerabilities.
>Windows cannot spy
Citation needed. Please show me the lines of source code that prove it cannot spy.
Who else here has weird typing styles?
>type with middle and index finger using thumb for spacebar
>use caps lock instead of shift for capitilization
>>57225931
I only type with my index fingers.
That's not weird, that's just a stupid way to type, very common on grandmas and normies.
I type with my middle and ring finger on my right hand, same with my left except I use my pointer too. I hit backspace with my right pinkie. Is this normal? I was never taught this is how it just ended up
I'm concerned someone might have forced my WEP and is leeching my internet
my modem lists a pile of devices that are or have been connected (mostly friends phones), but there are a lot of unknown devices there
what can I work out about the devices accessing my modem?
can I intercept the data?
now I could just boot everyone, then connect my devices one by one
and yes I know I have to secure my shit better, but I'm not an expert and my modem is ancient
>trying to spy on people smarter than you
Not advised.
>>57225922
maybe a valid consideration
but I NEED to know if I've been breached, that's the number one priority right now
it might just be a poorly configured device on the network (some generic piece of wireless speaker crap)
Redpill me on the technological singularity
Will it happen in our lifetime?
What happens after it?
>The technological singularity (also, simply, the singularity) is the hypothesis that the invention of artificial superintelligence will abruptly trigger runaway technological growth, resulting in unfathomable changes to human civilization. According to this hypothesis, an upgradable intelligent agent (such as a computer running software-based artificial general intelligence) would enter a 'runaway reaction' of self-improvement cycles, with each new and more intelligent generation appearing more and more rapidly, causing an intelligence explosion and resulting in a powerful superintelligence that would, qualitatively, far surpass all human intelligence
>>57225692
bump
>>57225692
>artificial superintelligence
never will happen.
Could happen, would like.
Human DNA is the most volatile program.
Alright pajeets - this shit needs 77 more signatures and the EFF gets $5000.
It's the Internet Privacy Bill of Rights. Nice symbolic shit, but it'd be nicer if NameCheap and RaffleCopter (yes, I know) turned off their website's standard third-party trackers for this.
Their idiocy aside in branding and imagery, the offer to EFF is legit. So sign this shit, Pajeets. Get it to 500 signatures so the EFF gets $5000.

How does SIM Lock works?
I mean those
scammers
services in the wild, claim to unlock them by using your IMEI number, so how does this works?
The /g/entoomen's library and the Everything you need to know, provided me no knowledge, so either I have to ask here or go deeper.
I want to make a free as in freedom software as a service substitute for this purposes. What are the theoretical limitations to this.
>>57225432
I've used the "scammer" service in the past and it unlocked my phone just fine. I'm sure there is just a single code for a provider and/or make of phone though.
