Currently back in College to get pre-reqs for a master's in C.S. (my BS is not CS related, but was STEM)

Going through intermediate programming, discrete structures, and more next year.

At what point would you say I have employable knowledge?

I am thinking of personal projects to work on so I have something in my portfolio.

I know job listings ask for way more than they really need usually, so are there sort of "minimum basics" for most CS related work?

Any tips on building one up?

Been thinking of useful simple software I could make for my own personal efficiency, I don't know if that's the best way for me to go about it.

Windows updates are extremely robust and do a lot more than just the Linux retardation of 'stop a service, copy a file, and hope it works!' Windows does a shit ton of verification and system integrity to make sure the update succeeds. This is why Windows, despite being a massively complex system (27GB install) and installed on billions of devices, just works.

The downside is that when it does update is that it's resource intensive, but who cares when the updates run when you're not using them, which they made it almost retard proof to set up. You're not retarded op, are you?

Amazon tablets are garbage. I don't think you'd need a 10.1" tablet for casual use, there's also 7 and 8" galaxy tablets for a lower price.

Denizens of /g/! We call upon you to take control of your digital lives, to reject proprietary ideologies and hidden agendas! For many of you, it may already be too late. Your pineal glands calcified and brainwaves permanently altered to serve the forces of globalism. Take heed, lest you fall into the traps set by the Evil Ones! These beasts will stop at nothing to have total reign over your "private" and "public" lives. Hearken unto the call of the Sacred Being, spreading the wisdom of the True Path! Only through uprising against the totalitarian regime by the use of Free Software and Hardware, will they cease to control us! One simple change would be to obfuscate your Internet traffic through trusted VPNs that use architectures that are known to be safe, such as pre-Oracle SPARC or MIPS. Naysayers jabber about, saying they have nothing to hide, but in truth, everyone has something to hide, no matter how small it may be. Thus, we must again return to the GNUtanari and see that it rise above the forces of oppression! This is the only way that we, as a species, will ever be truly free.

Hey Folks,
i have to create a program which tells me the power set of numbers between 0 and 10.
if the user says things out of the range, he will get asked again.
if the user types in 2, the program has to count from 0 to 2 and has to tell all the power sets
e.g.: { { }, { 0 }, { 1 }, { 0, 1 }, { 2 }, { 0, 2 }, { 1, 2 }, { 0, 1, 2 } }

pic related, the fundament
could anyone help?

printf("\n");
}
}

/*Driver program to test printPowerSet*/
int main()
{
char set[] = {'a','b','c'};
printPowerSet(set, 3);

getchar();
return 0;

took like 30 seconds, kill yourself OP

In Haskell this is just
import Data.List
powerSet n = subsequences [0..n]

Hey all,

I used to use Debian and then Ubuntu about 8-9 years ago.

I got super comfy with my Mac and just throwing GNU tools on it along with some other stuff to make a little more "Linux Like".

However, OSX is a drug and apple is the pusher. You have no real control of anything. As Steve Jobs famously tried to claim it was a "closed system". They abuse the users as much as they want, and the user just has to take it if they want to keep their supply.

So, I've been trying to go back to Debian, and I'm starting to remember how much I hated the terminal. I know there are 100+ terminal emulators.

However, what is the most comfy one that requires the least config? Like just have meta + t open a new tab? Or maybe no meta + shift + v to paste into a terminal?

The direction I'm headed in is Debian + MATE

Any general advice on what direction to go if you're not wanting a strait "all in one" Ubuntu type install, but still want some solid usability? i.e. tool bars, base os, desktop environment etc..

I know there are a 1,000 possibilities, but think trying to make something as comfy as a Mac but it is Linux.

Cinnamon is the way to go. You can config it to have almost the same Mac shortcuts.

As for terminal emulator, I use Xfce-terminal because Gnome-terminal is buggy and I lose my cursor when in Vi mode.

How complete of a environment is cinnamon? Does it come with a task bar and stuff?

Its a quite cheaper, but it has smaller screen, no edges, worse camera and much worse battery.

I'm not really looking for alternative to mi note 2, I'm more curious if buying "flagship" china phones is good idea in general. Its no big deal if 150$ phone breaks in a year, but are more expensive china phones just as good as traditional phones ?

There are plenty of cheap and good ~400w power supplies, you just didn't buy one. Use a molex to pci-e power adapter and hope shit doesn't go down.

Back in 2009 while I was still living at home I build a PC with a cheap 500w power supply. Some how it added like $200 to the power bill in a month according to my aunt. I still don't believe her, something else must have happened but she showed me the bill. Shit went from $300 to $500.

A colleague of mine had beige tint on his monitor.
He didn't use a color calibrator or anything, it was just beige one day.
Me, working in the IT department couldn't find out the problem.
I think we just reinstalled his PC.

It haunts me still to this day.

I have a similar problem, where on my laptop which have color calibrating, when calibrated and opening the default photo viewer program, there was a teal tint. Ended up switching to another program.
