Hi, which tablet should I get please /g/? It's just for casual use.
Fire HD 8" or Samsung Galaxy A 10.1"

Amazon tablets are garbage. I don't think you'd need a 10.1" tablet for casual use, there's also 7 and 8" galaxy tablets for a lower price.

stock amazon tablets are garbage, the amazon build of android they have on them is horrendous
However, get cyanogenmod on it and it's bae
MiPad

I'd get a phablet instead of a tablet, but to answer your question I would get the Samsung out of those two. the fires are garbage.
The amazon tablet is good if you're a prime member. Always avoid samshit.
I'd look at the ASUS ZenPad or the Nvidea Shield K1

Is the ASUS decent? I always assumed that brand was pretty shit quality compared to the bigger names. Thing I most hate in the world is having to send back faulty tech and having to wait weeks for a fix/replacement

ASUS is a pretty big brand. It's one of the top 10 global tech brands IIRC.

Ok thanks. I'll probably get the ASUS because I just got back from the store - the Samsung was nice but SOLD OUT. The FIRE HD 8 had a noticeably worse screen

>the tablet with a 720p resolution looked worse than the one with 1080p
you don't say
